Hi everyone, I have a rough idea and wonder if you could tell me what you think? Setting would be low fantasy probably. Not fully dark ages more like transition into renaissance? The emperor has invited his extended family to attend some celebrations (either because his birthday or the crown prince turning 18). So plenty of relatives show up for it. One idea I had was that the crown prince hooks up with some cute kitchen maid (a relationship obvious totally approved by his father). Or maybe he and some similar aged distant cousin get closer than before. A further idea was that most guests have some sort of sexual adventures (although I am not a fan from extrem close incest). Would be happy about some feedback, either on this or also if there are aspects I did not consider or directions to explore I haven't thought of.
Seems like a fine idea. A party means lots of people, and that gives plenty of chances to branch off into different individuals' experiences. A party is also a good excuse for debauchery, so that works too. I also enjoy low fantasy in general, but that's more of a subjective thing. Beyond that, you haven't provided much to comment on, so give it a go and see what comes out. One thing, though: if you're not planning to write close incest (ie sibling/sibling or parent/child), then naming your story 'the royal family fest' (or anything that strongly implies incest) is a bad idea, imo. It'll disappoint people who expect incest, and stop people who dislike incest from giving your story a try. A slightly more tittilating title would also be a good idea. After all, the title, intro blurb, and cover is all you can use to draw people in, so you should use them to the best of your ability. You might also want to give some thought to which fetishes you plan to incorporate, if you haven't done so already. Try not to cast your net too widely. focusing on a handful of related/complementing tags is better than sprawling the story all over the place, because it allows people to know what to expect. For example, even if you're into both very romantic missionary sex and hard anal rape, you shouldn't feature both in the same story.
I had a lol at that title. Yeah sorry man, if you go with that you have to make incest your main feature. What I'm personally missing is a hook. So this is royal familiy throwing a ball...so what? It's fine as a setting, but there needs to be something that get's the reader invested. Incest would be the obvious choice, but since you don't want that you have to come up with something else.
I am not sure what a good hook would be, that is why I am so unsure how to start this story. I wondered if I could hook people with some (disapproved) relationship or make it a funny, relatives get drunk and things go off from there. For the incest question: i know that can be a good hook for lot of readers. I just dislike the common tropes (mom/son dad/daughter), they feel like so overused. Maybe i could spin off and do some other relationships idk. That is where the cousin idea comes from, Young people realizing they both have grown up. I also tend to write long intros without any action, which often gives me impression it drives away readers who want to read a quick cut to naughty stuff.
There could be a lot of unofficial relatives. Secret sons and daughters, and nephews, and so on. Not all of the same generations of course, some may be older, and some may work in disguise in the castle too. But the point is, that this time the King wanted ALL the family to attend, it's just that not all the family members know each other. That would also lessen the incest magnitude, as blood relatives who do not know to be blood relatives and didn't grow up together having sex is a much more watered-down version of straight incest.
Alright, I came up with a concept, probably not what you had in mind but screw it I'm sharing it anyways lol Royal Rape Rave The crownprince has just turned 18 and has yet to choose a (suitable) bride. His parents, fed up with their sons indecision, have decided upon a rather...controversial solution. Inviting many members of the nobility and high society to a grand ball they announce an outrageous competition: Whoever steals their sons virginity will be chosen as his official bride! But that's not all! To make it more "fair" for their son, and also solve the pesky marriage question for extended familiy members any as of yet unmarried royal over 18 are fair game as well. That's right! This entire ball was a fiendish trap!
So basically all the unmarried nobles can be "claimed" for marriage? Or do I understand it the wrong way around?
Well, the focus is on the Royals, so my idea was that they would be the ones to be claimed in a sort of role reversal deal. But this is your story, so by all means arrange it as you see fit.
You could have an 18yo princess that has been kept hidden her whole life so the people never learn of her superpowers, and she accidentally reveals them during a fight with her sister at the party, causing a panic and... wait, that's been done. I think it would be interesting if the Emperor is hosting the party to act as a peace conference because the extended family are considering a break from the crown or are currently in a stalemated war, so the sexy shenanigans are part of the negotiations.
