Reka shouts to be heard over the engines. "No idea. I left in... around '95 when they wanted me to run drugs and shit. Stopped paying attention to the MCs. They're all assholes anyway. Wouldn't surprise me if they finally got shut down." She doesn't do anything noteworthy in reaction to the cop, but pre-battle nerves egg her on, encouraging her to fight-- to test the officer's mettle.
Helen was silent for a moment... then shook her head. "Anyway, enough about grim things." She took a sip of wine. "Look on the bright side of your immortality. You will witness ad experience the growth of humanity. You will meet famous people, eat new foods, experience new inventions." She grinned. "The antique, was a time of raise..." She paused. "Well, until the fall of bronze age... then the fall of civilization after the fall of Rome... and dark ages..." She hummed. "The intervals between the falls seem to shorten... huh. "She shook her head. "But the civilization always raises after, stronger then before." She grinned. "And you will witness it - the raise of humanity."
"Hmm, so, as someone from the ancient world, is there anything you like about this time?" Karolina eyes the woman curiously, taking a drink.
"It's more crowded... less wild." She answered... then hummed. "It's not liking, it's just... different. There are things I miss, there are things I don't miss..." She shrugged. "Things were cleaner then - cities were made with sewers, so shit didn't stay on the streets - that, I miss." She said nodding her head.
"Well, there's one plus - beautiful redheaded noblewomen." Karolina grins and twirls a strand of her hair around a finger.
Helen chuckled, her laugh truthfully genuine. Not small laugh, but a full blown laugh. "Ah..." She sighted as she calmed down. "I do miss the amazons~" She smiled. "You would fit in with them quite well." She raised her glass. "But thankfully, I have a redhead noblewoman right here~ Cheers!" She clonked the glass with Karolina's.
"Cheers." She taps her glass against Helen's. "I take that as quite the compliment. You know... I can see why someone would fight a war over you."
"Oh?" Helen raised her an eyebrow, but made no move to speak more, content to listen in silence. Still, she moved herself closer, seating next to redheaded noblewoman.
Karolina enjoys the closeness, as she thinks. If I seduce her, then she'll give Silas what he wants, if she's the one who gets to the king first. Yeah... That's the only reason I'm coming on to another woman. "Well, you're a rare beauty - truly something. I think plenty of men in that crowd tonight would have started bloodshed if they thought they could get you in their bed."
That gas station clerk must have liked me, Reka jokes internally. She pulls over, stopping on the shoulder of the road. She orders Sofia "Don't try anything," and waits for the cop to approach. She looks at the car and officer through her bike's side mirrors, routinely, automatically assessing the enemy's numbers, weaponry, mounts, and other equipment.
Helen laughed, her voice making something stir inside Karolina. She had goosebumps. "My dear, are you coming on me?" She chuckled, flashing her white teeth. "How... un-commonwealth, of you~"
As the two stopped, the police car stopped behind them. A man got of from it and started walking towards Reka. In the mirror, the immortal noticed that the man seemed to be of middle age... and one hand he held on his gun.
"I wouldn't say wandering. I know exactly what I'm searching for." Thea kept her tone polite and civil. "Besides, it's not everyday that I can have the old uniform. It takes a lot to properly upkeep it over the years, but I've done quite well. It would be improper to enter my final battles without looking my best, after all."
Reka remains stoic, waiting to hear what the officer wants. A bullet won't stop me, but I can't have the entire country after me again if I'm going to keep following the pull. I have to be patient.
"Heh..." The man chuckled. "So you did not come here to talk. A pity I wouldn't say no to a bottle of Ale, or twenty~" He commented as he started slowly walking alongside the edge, his eyes still on Thea. "Will you at least introduce yourself, challenger?" He asked. "This would be only polite~"
The man slowly stepped next to Reka - she noticed in the mirror he made sure to check her plates. "Moring." He greeted her, briskly. "Documents and driver's licence please." He asked as he stood next to her.
"He is right~" She chuckled as she moved closer to Karolina, her hips practically touching the redhead. "Those who tried to stay with the old away were quickly killed off... even by mortals. The world is no longer a place for raging berserkers. It evolved... adapted... and so have we." She moved closer to Karolina, their faces were next to each other, Karolina could feel hot breath on her own lips. Helen's hand touched her noblewoman's arm, sending goosebumps over her skin.
"I am Thea, knightess of England." She kept her stylistic poise, but she could didn't relax yet. If he was this calm with the idea of battle, it could only mean that he was used to this. She didn't lower her guard yet, eyeing him for next move.
