That’s a good point. Having guest status should make going through easier, so we should gather info while we can before we fight Levateinn. Especially with Harvester defeated.
Well, these floor monster rewards continue to be good. The gauntlets would probably be best suited to Cherchiel, especially after we get the rest of her equipment back. I don’t have strong feelings on who to give the headband to, but it also seems handy. I don’t think it’s worth it to fight these lesser imps considering their gifts are cursed. Although if we did end up fighting them, we could probably get some use out of the cursed items by trading them in to Alide like usual. I say we go through the next door. Might as well keep going for now.
Yulia should wear the headband since she knows ice spells. No need to revive if we win. Cherchiel can have the halo since she is at risk without armor right now. Isalia should wear the gauntlets because i believe in having a strong party, giving all the new toys to cherchiel is not the best at times. I agree, we are still guests and if this room is not going to attack us then we should explore more for now.
Good to know there is such a spell, giving how vital enemy information is, I do think obtaining it should be a priority Well, first things first, we have some new equipment to go around. The Harvest gloves, seemed a pretty obvious choice. Cherchiel has no weapon at all right now, so having her punch stuff is our only option As for the Demon Hairband, that seems obvious as well, Yulia. The trickier question is what to do with the Halo. This is tough, but I vote for Goma She is the squishiest of the group, and her alchemy skills are absolutely vital. I am not too keen with advancing forward before getting Cherchiels gear back. I don't think this Guest status expands to the Demon of Gifts, but it looks like I am outvoted here. I initially wanted to agree with Emmie's suggestion to craft a new weapon for Cherchiel, but that blacksmith emblem has me intrigued. So, I'd say we see what's up there. We should watch our backs tough and make sure the imps don't get any funny ideas. I am against messing with the Imps. I'm sure we could take them, but that would definitely piss off Demonic Santa. So far, we didn't necessarly have to fight the Demons, so needlessly antagonizing them seems a bad idea. Updated map:
Actually this just ocurred to me. In the prior room there is a table with "sharp random parts" on it. Can we go back and check if any of them would serve as a weapon?
I am so glad that Evil Santa took off XD Also the table is made out of unpolished sharp stone parts all mashed together, essentially imagine the game of thrones chair, but even more haphazard and dangerous. Removing any of the sharp rock pieces to use as a weapon would require breaking them from the table which will be difficult and the sharp piece you receive would likely be difficult to wield if not injurious to the wielder, but I mean... You can definitely try.
If it and the joke non-canon scene with Alide and Dahlia didn't make it clear. It's the same room the two are in in the Advanced Fantasy read.
I'll second Goma getting the halo in light of her recent atrophy. And I stand by Cherchiel getting the Harvester Gauntlets for now. We can discuss what to do with them after getting the rest of her gear back, but right now Isalia has stronger equipment so if we want to balance power between the group we should give them to Cherchiel.
I do want to say one thing regarding this, because I just noticed this line while rereading to write the newest post and realized that apparently it wasn't obvious. While technically in a sense Goma is the squishiest in the group... She is also functionally invincible and has the highest armor rating of the entire group. Not that armor rating is an actually tracked thing, but if it was she would have it. This is because she was given both Lumberer's thick hide which greatly reduces almost any physical damage dealt to her, but then that thick hide was imbued with nethicite which made it basically just straight up negate almost all physical damage she might take. As long as she's not naked, she's basically invincible. In the sense of getting wounds I mean. She's still easily knocked around she just doesn't actually take injury from being attacked. You... apparently unintentionally put the best armor on her and then imbued it with the best passive damage resistance buff Anyway also Newest Post: Tried my best not to think about the Dark Souls Giant Blacksmith while describing this guy. Despite the fact I'm having trouble picturing it properly, he and the anvil he's working at are not supposed to be massive compared to Yulia et al. The anvil would be about waist height and he is at most slightly taller than Cherchiel.
Interesting, yeah I had no idea, Weapons and shields are fairly straightforward but whenever it comes to armor things are kinda vague. Armor obviously reduces the amount of HP damage the group takes, but I haven't yet seen HP have an effect in battle. Maybe that's because we made sure the group is always fully healed. It would sense if it made battles harder if we entered with lesser HP But anyways if you want to share the specfics of how armor affect battle outcomes feel free to. My general input comes tomorrow
I mean it doesn't... It probably should, but I have been struggling with exactly how, it's more that it effects results of outcomes more than anything. Mostly it's function is more in terms of story than mechanics... In that if someone is likely to die in a fight, the lowest armor is likely to be the one who gets it and the like.
We don’t need anything from this blacksmith, we already have Martin. I think Isalia brings up a good point, and we may want to deal with this blacksmith before we leave the floor. But we should get a better sense of what else is in the Demon of Gift’s section. If we continue, I say we go through the pleasure door first. My guess is it’s a sort of waiting room where imps and the like can enjoy themselves before they’re dragged in here to be made into weapons. While we have no idea what awaits behind the pain door. Also, shoutout to GODma, with the massively powerful Puppet spell and near invulnerability to physical damage. (It might be a bit metagamey to say this after Lehe’s comment, but the bit about “lowest armor is likely to die first” makes me want to put the halo on Cherchiel for the moment.)
To put it a bit more clearly. When I decide how a fight or trap plays out, I often also decide whether or not people are likely to be hurt. Ie will they lose health and/or die. How much and what armor they have is factored into that decision, so the tactics suggested and the armor each character has is basically why you've gone through a lot of recent fights without much in the way of injuries.
Hm, I suppose it would make sense to give Cherchiel the Halo then. Of course, that immunity only goes as far as physical damage is considered. There is still magic to consider. But given Cherchiel's current state it certainly couldn't help to have some insurance. So I think it's safe o say that this blacksmith isn't the Demon of Gifts? He would fit the archetype but that would be rather anticlimatic. It should go without saying but we aren't sacrificing anyone for an enchantment. Sex for gear certainly sounds more palpatable. However, it appears all the gear this guy makes is cursed, which isn't ideal. We might end up with an awesome piece of equipment that has a nasty drawback. And of course sex would most likely result in another fetish. I don't think it's worth it. Especially since we could just get this stuff for free by beating up a bunch of measly imps anyways. But at the same time, I don't really see a reason to kill this guy. Cursed equipment hasn't really been an issue for us. So I'd say we just leave him be. The Gloves of Harvest are way more effective then I expected, so that's pretty cool. I still don't like Cherchiel's armor situation, but it does indeed appear that the demons leave us alone at least for now. So I'd say we press on trough the pleasure door.
Cherchiel with the halo makes the most sense right now, if any party member is in danger then they need to have this halo on! Seems we will be going into the pleasure room. I do want to remind everyone we do have Godma now and puppeting any of these individuals could be useful later. Could we even force the blacksmith to make us something? Not worth it now, but something to keep in mind.
We do need to do an actual combat experience test with Puppet sooner or later. I'm reluctant to use it on semi friendly NPC's because, there has to be some drawback to prevent it from outright steamrolling the tower.
Hm, can we do a little test? I'd like to know if the Silver Ring still burns Cherchiel. That probably doesn't warrant a new post and my input depends on the answer to this.
