"Ah, Valentija... that was... just a means to get by." Eve replied, blushing a bit behind her blindfold. "The most interesting, I suppose, will be this Xanado "Freeman," or perhaps Dr. Thrax. Which do you prefer we go after... assuming you're still willing to join me?" The android asked, eyeing up the two bounties. Garindan should have information on them.
Isabia confirm taking this bounty. "Relax Vetrik. He is padawan, which mean he didn't finished his training, so no way that he would be on the same level like Master R'Zik. " She said calm, when they leave guild. "But since he is Jedi, let's buy some sonic granates, to diturb his Force connection. Also, ruins of Mandalore sounds like chalange to me, no way that I would leave that unaswer." Isabia said confident, as they bought ten granades and leave on their ship after bounty.
"Well, to be honest, Thrax scares me a little, so my choice would be Xanado - he wouldn't be our first pirate." Valentija nods. "Of course I'm willing to join you. We're partners." She holds out a hand.
(-1000 Credits, +10 Sonic Grenades) Properly armed, the two of them depart for their ship, the fast old freighter soaring away from Coruscant. A day later, Isabia sees Mandalore stretching beneath her cockpit. The Imperial purge hasn't changed the blighted landscape much, since the planet was already in ruins when the Empire purged it, but the sight of destroyed cities is striking nonetheless. "There's a spaceport in one of the ruined cities." Isabia hears her companion direct from the copilot's chair. "Seems like it's mainly smugglers - the only civilisation I can see left on the planet. There's some holonet rumors that certain clans survived and are still here in bunkers, but there's no details on those."
"Very well, let's go with Xanado for our refresher course." Even smiles as she hears Valentija's reply, "Thank you. I couldn't have asked for a better partner myself." She giggles, "Now, let us prepare. I take it they'll want to board our ship. Perhaps we can prepare smoke grenades since they're a small crew." The android moves her gloved hand, taking the blond's as they head to the reception to take the job. "Should we ask... our "friend" for information? Or do you think this will be a straightforward mission?"
Isabia check her guns and nod to Vetrik. " Well, if our ex-Jedi been here, he must come to one of the smugglers ports. Let's land here and check some locals. " She said fixing her helmet. " As for clans... They are the last place where Jedi would looking for help, so they shouldn't be problem."
"Tecnicians." Tow answered easily. "There were some problems in the young Lord's room with the kew holograms he bought and we were called to repair it." She explained. Whether the man believed it true, or just thought they were high-class escorts, did not matter to them.
"I can handle getting the smoke grenades." Valentija says. "As for him, I doubt more info could hurt."
As the ship touches down on a fallen chunk of plasteel wall flat enough to be used as a landing pad, Isabia looks out the viewscreen to see a small settlement built on platforms situated along the ruins of the old city skyscrapers, the ruined streets far below them. Looking around, she sees a few buildings, most looking like salvage stores, with a cantina made from reclaimed building materials at the far edge of the settlement. Due to the cold her ship's screens inform her is out there, only a few figures can be seen along the metal platforms, and of those that are, none are Mandalorian.
"Very well, you go and purchase the grenades. I'll go ask the reception if they have any new information on Xanado, maybe he's gotten new weapons these past six months." Eve nods, deciding to leave Garindan as a last resort, considering his steep price. She heads to the reception desk, asking if any new information about her current bounty has been added.
The man at the gate narrows his eyes at the two of them, before turning to one of the guards. "Escort these...ladies...to his lordship's chambers." A young and heavily armed guard examines the two twi'leks with interest, before turning and leading them into the palace. Tow's reminded of her plan to seduce her employer and become duchess, as she's led through the lavishly decorated halls of the palace. Clearly, though the house is a small one, under Lady Gratham's stewardship, they're doing well financially. The thought of living here as a mistress reminds her of her past as a slave - it would certainly be a step up from where she came from. Finally, up several flights of stairs, they stop in front of a door, which slides open to reveal the young lord, who smiles as he sees them. "Thank you for bringing them. Dismissed." He says to the soldier, before leading the twi'leks inside the room and shutting the door. "S-So, you're ready to do the job?"
"See you soon." The blonde nods and turns on her heel, as the droid at reception looks up. Spoiler: Luck Roll D100: 7 According to the droid, Xanado's name has been picked up on Imperial comms chatter - he's been lurking in the Imperial-controlled Soong System, preying on their transports. In that region of space, Imperial convoys have to come out of hyperspace to avoid colliding with an asteroid field, making them vulnerable to attack as they slowly move through the chunks of floating rock. In the same region there's also an Imperial controlled trading post, though they are reputed to have a weak garrison, making them unable to crack down on the criminal element that stays there.
"Thank you." Eve smiles as she received the new information. Which, sadly wasn't much. So they don't know if he's gotten any new ships, or weapons. She thought to herself, deciding to contact Garindan for additional information. She heads back to her ship, contacting the informant while waiting for Valentija to return from buying grenades.
(-1000 Credits +10 Smoke Grenades) A hologram appears of the shady looking alien in the cockpit. "I was wondering if I'd hear from you with the recent law change."
Isabia know mandalore no longer belongs to her people, but still seeing it in such ruin was hearthbreaking for her. "It look like even in hell people would made place to drink and forgett their nightmares." She said to her companion as they both go to check local cantina.
"Hello to you too." Eve replied, "But yes, now that the law has been changed. I want to inquire about a certain target. What do you know about the pirate Xanado?" She asked, knowint the informant will have something for her. "I want to know if he's gotten new weapons, or perhaps a bigger crew... or smaller if he's been unlucky."
The young man beside her squeezes her hand sympathetically as they leave the ship. As the doors shunt open, revealing a dark, smoky room, Isabia sees a number of individuals drinking, with some holographic dancers providing some illumination. Examining the faces, she sees a mix of humans and aliens, with some seeming like criminals, while others just working people trying to get by. "What can I get ya?" The four armed besalisk bartender asks. "Come in - you're lettin' in the cold."
Isabia didn't feel cold thanks to her armor, but nice touch of her companion is always welcome. She go to besalisk bartender and show him hologram of her target. "I get information that this men was last seen on this planet. Do you seen him recently or someone told you about him? Around him may happen strange things and he is dangreous for people around him"
"Xanado...Xanado..." Garindan says, as if having trouble recalling. "Ah yes, the scourge of the mid-rim. I'm afraid my news is bad. He's had a good time attacking the Empire - gotten himself a bigger crew, by the tune of about two dozen grizzled men, and two assault craft to back up his main ship. I might negotiate the fee if you want to continue with this bounty - he's stronger than when it was originally posted. There's also a bit of 'premium' info I'd be willing to drop for free in return for a favor."
Spoiler: Awareness Roll D100: 69 (nice) As she steps out of the light sillouetting her, Isabia becomes properly visible to the patrons, who stare at her with surprise - apparently an actual Mandalorian is a strange sight here. "Ahem..." The bartender recovers from his surprise. "I mighta." He grunts. "I wouldn't go looking for him. Sometimes other hunters are more dangerous than the game, you know?"
