"I would have been fine with it. I mean, I'm not so... lusty that I'd go and say I want to... fuck someone on our first date." Felicia whispers the last part, blushing as she frowns at Michio. "I-I don't know, he seemed nice." She mumbles as she eats her meal, "What's this about anyway? Why are you asking so many questions, I'm sure you've gone on a number of dates already, so why are you asking me about mine?"
Julia shut her eyes somewhat dismissively. "You mean, you've done exactly what I thought you would. I thought you were supposed to be more cunning than your sister, yet, it's worse than her manipulations. See? She at least had subtlety. But your trickery is worse than transparent. It's generic." Julia aimed to get under the kitsune's skin and hopefully start making her too worked up to keep up the flow and strength of her domain into her next plays. (She won't do anything yet unless she goes for a synchro)
They defeated the Eye by leaving things to chance, at least in part. Having a distraction also assists. These are the salient lessons. Unless you can find another Millennium Item somehow. Spoiler: Knowledge Roll 84=84 success Based on her uniform and patches, Castro is Portuguese military, from their Rapid Reaction Brigade, which oversees all their special operations troops. Merneith...there's no way to be sure of her origin, but she's probably either Portuguese too or hails from one of the country's allies. This doesn't guarantee that they're acting officially on Portugal's behalf, but it's something. "Adam, state your nationality, age, and occupation." The Lieutenant instructs.
"I'm asking all this because I have a bunch more experience than you." Michio chides. "You're a virgin; you don't know shit about what matters in the bedroom, and, since you have a sex drive, you need a partner who you're actually attracted to and who can work with you in bed. I'm just trying to make sure that you aren't getting all 'love at first sight' with a guy who can't meet your needs. Lord know I could have used the help for my first relationship." She takes a breath. "If aren't sure yet, that's fine. Just think about this stuff too, in addition to the romantic shit, alright?"
Spoiler: Taunt Roll 91+10(Charisma)+10(Spirit Taming)-30(Callous)=81 success That one actually got to her. The fox-woman's white mask frowns, betraying the spirit's anger. "Balerdroch, hit her. Hard." The lamia changes into Attack Position and speedily slithers at Julia. [Any reaction?]
"Weird, last time the Portuguese military was in Japan, it was the 16th century..." Adam mumbles. "French - or possibly Egyptian. It depends on your point of view. I'm 21, and for occupation I'm a full time student, card shark, and one time I had sex for money. Oh, and a priest. Kind of. Maybe."
"Sh-shhhhh!" Felicia's eyes go wide as Michio spouts some very private things, the flushed red-head looking around, hoping no one heard what she said. "I-I appreciate it, but I'm not so stupid as to believe things like love at first sight." She mumbles, unable to decline the fact that she does have a sex drive... a very active one too. "Thanks for caring but this... I think this type of discussion is better suited somewhere private." Felicia continues to mumble as she eats her meal.
Merneith speaks up. "For the record, Adam attends Domino City Duel Academy, and has reported seeing visions of himself as an ancient Egyptian priest of the cult of Horus." "Let's get to the point, Adam." The Lieutenant crosses her arms under her prodigious chest, accenting it. "What do you know about these visions you claim to be having? What causes them? What are they typically about? Are they always set in Egypt?" "One at a time, Lieutenant." Merneith stops the other woman from piling on even more questions so quickly.
Michio sighs. "You're right. This could've waited. Sorry." She looks suitably apologetic. "So..." The boisterous woman awkwardly clears her throat. "You have a second date set up? And what was the guy's name again?" She gives Felicia a sheepish look, uncertain if she's already been told the answer to the second question.
This time, Adam can't stop himself from looking at the lieutenant's chest, though he manages to bring his eyes back up to hers. "Well, since I already blabbed most of it to Merneith, what the hell. What do I know? Not much. What causes them? I have no idea. As for what they are? They vary from dream to dream - different moments of the same lifetime. In most I'm acting as a priest, leading sermons to Horus or advising the pharaoh and her", he looks at Merneith, "-officials. In one I was having a sort of ritual marriage to a priestess of a different god, and in one I got murdered." He sighs. "All in Egypt so far, yeah." Unless you count the Shadow Realm as a different place entirely.
"Haah. It's alright... I should have expected this when you texted." Felicia lets out a tired sigh, letting Michio know she's gotten somewhat used to the eye-patched girl's antics. "And no, we haven't set anything up yet. We're still going to see when our schedules would line up... and depending on how much work we'll have to do for our classes." She adds, "His name is Samir."
Spoiler: Deception Roll 78+10(Omission)+20(Poker Face)-40(Millennium Eye)=68 success Despite Quintet Magician's warning about the Eye's power, Merneith doesn't say anything about Adam omitting the vision of a post-apocalyptic Domino City. Perhaps it truly can be deceived... "To clarify-" Merneith speaks before Castro can pepper Adam with more questions. "-Adam seems to believe that I am the pharaoh whom he sees in these visions." The Lieutenant, arms still folded, calmly picks up from there after giving the heterochromatic woman a brief glare. "Adam, you mentioned to Merneith that you are in contact with at least one other person who has experienced similar visions. Who is this? How did you learn that they also have 'dreams' as you put it?"
"Alright." Michio nods. "You should get that figured out sooner rather than later. Oh yeah!" She remembers something, snapping her finger as it clicks in her mind. "Are you busy tomorrow night? Because I've heard about some fun shit going down." The Shiranui user asks.
"Right." Felicia sighs, until Michio gets excited again. "Huh? Well, I have something in the morning. At worst it'll take all day. But I should be free at night." The red-head replies, recalling her magic lessons. "What kind of... fun shit is supposed to happen?" Felicia whispered, being extremely cautious with what little she knows about Michio, "fun" could either be a duel, or an orgy.
The Doomking stabs the bottom of his staff into Canadia, turning the Paleozoic monster green and lethargic before it falls limp on the blackening ground. Following up, the lamia's staff projects a gout of acidic venom which splashes Julia, eating away at her for 1600 damage. Her LP falls to 3500. "I lay a trap, and you can try to overcome it." Yoko ends her turn after the attack. Spoiler: Turn 9 Rolls Julia 81=81 good Yoko 74+10(Domain)-10(Taunted)=74 good
(Sorry, brain is exhausted, maybe should just streamline the rest of this, I know that's a cheap way for it to fall off but-) Julia had taken damage, but was still ready to make her next move, confident she wasn't in trouble just yet.
"A party with a dueling tourney." Michio grins, not bothering to lower her voice. "A few people caught wind of an abandoned warehouse and are throwing something together. You wanna come?"
"A party? I mean, the dueling part sounds fun. Still, are you sure this isn't some shady event?" Felicia whispered, "But alright, if you're sure about this, I guess I'll join."
Hmm... Trouble in paradise? Maybe I can use this... Adam notes the friction between the women with interest, interrupting as Merneith finishes her sentence - Castro seems to want all the information she can get, so why not give it to her? If Merneith objects, that in itself gives Adam information. "For the record, I don't really believe anything. All I know is that I saw you in my dreams, in the role of one of Egypt's early female pharaohs. Maybe you're not actually her, or it's reincarnation, or you're a descendant. I mean, you were wearing that same headdress, after all..." He observes Castro's response with interest as he mentions the woman's artifact, trying to intuit if she knows what it is, while pretending that he himself thinks it's just an ornament.. "...And it can't be my mind playing tricks on me, because I'd definitely never seen you before you appeared in my visions. You're...distinctive - I'd have remembered." He looks back at Merneith. As Castro asks about Huanani, Adam thinks to himself for a moment - can he give up Huanani? She's not necessarily his friend, after all - he's not entirely sure she doesn't mean him harm. He dismisses the idea as soon as it arrives - Huanani and the situation with her duel spirit is certainly sketchy, but she hasn't actually done anything to Adam. Besides, selling out a woman he's had sex with feels...sleazy, even for Adam. "Oh, her?" He says, deciding that since omission fooled the eye, mixing truth and falsehood might as well. "I don't know who she is." Technically true - he knows Huanani's name, but not who she really is. "She was weird to be honest; she came up to me, calling me 'sorcerer' and saying that she wanted to meet me later. I came across her in a chapel, praying or something, and then I heard a male voice speaking - something about wanting a new body. Like I said, weird." He recounts that part truly, at least. He speaks quickly, rambling a little in the hopes that it might make his omission of Huanani's name "I don't know what it was, a spirit, a god? The girl collapsed and I went to check she wasn't dead, and then... Well, she was fine, but I had a vision of the two of us in a ritual marriage ceremony in ancient Egypt, and then something came over me. We...didn't do a lot of talking at that point. Afterwards, her legs were too weak for her to walk, and I figured I should get out of there before she recovered." Again, true - he just doesn't mention the talk they had between the sex and him leaving the chapel. (Sorry if that was too incoherent. Lots of waffling and run on sentences, my bad.)
