Spoiler: Force 50+9 vs 17,11,11,10,9,9,6 The lightning from her hands washed over the area, catching everyone present. The Sith's opponents were fought in the discharge and thrown to the ground. Four of them still could move, moaning on the ground from pain. The other three did not survive. Only one was still conscious. The very leader of them who talked with Crystal.
Crystal had no interest in trying to capture and/or question her attackers. Once the group failed to report back someone would come looking for them, and she wanted to be gone before that happened. Thus she quickly finished off the survivors, starting with the leader. Then she searched the bodies for anything she could use, pulled them deeper into the forest, and tried to hide them as best she could behind some bushes. With her attackers taken care of Crystal went back to seeking a way inside the city.
The dark side sang with joy, as Crystal choked the life of the leader as the woman begged for mercy - only for the Sith to give none. As the last whips of life of the woman were snuffed out, Crystal could swear she heard the dark side laugh. She found some documents, identifications, pass cards and some credits on the soldiers. Also, short-distance communication devices.
The identifications would be of no use to her at this time, but Crystal kept them, just in case. The rest were all worth examining. She started with the documents, trying to figure out what they were about, then checked the pass cards to see if they could be of any use to her, and finally the communications devices, wanting to know if she could use them to listen to other soldiers' communications. She also took the credits, of course – one could never have too many.
As she read it, Crystal realised that the team she thought, were not soldiers, but instead pseudo police - a snatcher team, that took civilians and suspected spies to the T&I base, to have them interrogated.
Crystal frowned at what she had just learned. I guess I can expect more of them to come looking for me... how annoying! She sighed, then resumed examining the stuff she had found.
She did not know which doors the passcards would open, and the communication devices required passwords... or hacking skills. Unfortunately, Crystal killed all who could give her password.
Crystal kept the pass cards, just in case. As for the communications devices, hacking had never been one of the things she was good at. Besides, once the team's disappearance was noted the devices could become a liability, if they had some sort of tracking incorporated in them... She made a mental note to throw the communications devices into the water as soon as she got the chance. Time to go. The former thief decided once she was certain she had found everything there was to find on the bodies. She took the communicators so that she could throw them in the water once she had the chance and went back to seeking a way inside the city. Now that she knew enemies could come looking for her she made sure to move quietly and to stay alert for anyone approaching her area.
Crystal turned back too look at what she was looking at before she was interrupted. A small village with boats. That was one avenue, a risky one, she could try...
Stealthily, trying to remain unnoticed, Crystal moved closer to the village. She wanted to take a closer look at it, the people there, and the boats. If possible she wanted to get close to the water and throw away the communicators.
Spoiler: perception 25+4 As Crystal looked around the village, she noticed nothing out of the ordinary. The people walked the streets unbothered, there were a couple of soldiers here and there, the ships were present in the port... she will only be able to dispose of communicators, would be once she was in port.
The village appeared completely normal, nothing worrying as far as she could see... but things were not always as they appeared – as a former thief Crystal knew that well. Thus she decided to sneak inside the village and make it to the port, to take a look at the ships there. I need to stay out of sight, especially of any soldiers. If necessary I will use the force to distract people, or to make them forget they saw me. I also need to keep an eye out for any cameras – there might be some hidden ones in the village. She spent a few more moments observing the village, then began moving toward it.
As Crystal observed the village from the shadows, she finally realised what was that was bothering her. The ships! There were plenty of ships in the port, but there was no visible ship on the water...
Crystal narrowed her eyes at the ships. Plenty of ships in port, but none on the water? Are ships not allowed to go to the city from here? If so, asking for a ship to take me there is sure to attract a lot of unwanted attention – or outright cause the guards to attack me and try to arrest me... That was going to be a problem. I need more information. I should sneak inside the village and listen to people talk – maybe I will be lucky enough to learn something... if not, I can try finding a person I can question... She decided as she began moving again.
As she looked around, Crystal luckily realised that there was a man just making his way outside of the village. He was riding a slow-moving hovercraft and looked like he was going to the forest. That was the easiest and safest person she could interrogate. Alternatively, she could try raiding one of the houses...
As a former thief Crystal knew well to not take unnecessary risks. Thus her choice was obvious: Wait for the man to get inside the forest, out of sight of anyone in the village, then approach him and try to learn what she can. If being friendly did not work she could try a more violent approach, and if that did not work as well she could try raiding a house in the village. But for now she would remain there and wait for the man on the hovercraft to enter the forest. Watching the guy would hopefully allow her to find out if he was armed or not, just in case.
Spoiler: perception +17 As Crystal observed the man from the shadows, she realised he had a simple blaster, used for self-defence. When he moved past her, she realised that he was going to the forest to hunt, as she spotted a rifle and traps on the hovercraft.
A hunter? Then he's likely not expected to return for at least a few hours, maybe even days, depending on what he is hunting. Crystal reasoned. While I could kidnap and interrogate him, it would be easier if I can get him to talk to me willingly. I'll try pretending to be a tourist looking around when I approach him... but I will wait a few more minutes before that, so that he can move deeper into the forest. Until then I will follow him quietly and observe.
The man seemed to be relaxed and prepared for a longer travel, as he drove the hovercraft. The vehicle itself seemed to be prepared to carry heavier creatures. As she waited, Crystal got a better look at the man... but he did not seem anything special.
Nothing special. Good. That will make him easier to deal with, if it comes to it. Crystal decided as she followed the guy for a bit longer from a safe distance, using the time to mentally prepare for the role of a bored tourist exploring the forest. On a whim the former thief decided to try and use the force to change her face with an illusion. That wasn't her specialty, but it was worth a try. Regardless of whether she succeeded or failed she would approach the guy afterwards. When she was ready she sped up her walking, easily catching up to the slow-moving hover craft. “Good day, sir! Mind if I keep you company for a bit?” She asked in a friendly tone once she was close enough. (Sorry for the wait, needed some time to decide how to approach this.)
