Completely pendantic question but it just occured me Energize (Lvl 1, Mastered, Cost: 25%, Cost currently halved rounded down: 12%) Since mana cast is doubled for the floor does Energize now cost 24% or 25%? Same goes for the other spells like Icicle Since we use quite a lot of spells that 1% does actually add up! Ugh, I would usually just say to go for the King. But if we do that there is a decent chance we get pincered between the guards and the king. The mermaids and Siren aren't likely to double cross us as long as the King is still alive, so from a risk assesment perspective I think it's wiser if we help our allies here first. Two easy battles are better then one tough one. At any rate, before we do anything Yulia should heal Cherchiel and Lri who have taken quite some punishment, after we can deal with the rest of the guards. I believe Emmie's strategy is quite sound here, but I am somewhat reluctant of making use of Blizzard as I imagine it will be impossible to cast it without hitting our allies, I suggest switching it out for Life drain. just to be thorough I would like to add the usual stuff to our lineup (Boarchiel, Goma horn, and energize on Cherchiel as well as Lri)
I'm admittedly not 100% sure but I always interpreted Blizzard as an AOE spell which means we can direct where it occurs but it will also hit friendlies when they are in its range But I don't think it's a pick and choose kinda thing. I just don't want to piss off the Mermaids and Siren with this. We are doing great number wise anways so it's not like Blizzard will make or break this fight
Well, at least the fight against the guard was easy lol I do believe the King identify himself as a brute, to reiterate what we know from brutes "Rekl, Sahuagin Brute, age 33. Brute's are the Sahuagin's answer to the magic of the mermaids. They are resistant to offensive magic and immune to most support magic. They're thick hide is also resistant to cutting weaponry and they are extremely physically strong making them a very dangerous foe in hand to hand combat. A single Sahuagin brute can obliterate a much larger squad of mermaid casters with ease," so support magic won't do us much good and we should defintely prioritizing buffing ourselves instead, especially since that water current will make movement difficult in the first place I like to have Energize cast on everyone including Isalia, whatever is currently happening with her might be prevented if she can fight against it With Cherchiel Goma Isalia Lri Lemiel thats 5 energize so Yulia will need to drink a mana potion. Since we now have mana to spare I also like to both hit the King and Isalia with a identify, then cast Great Cure on Isalia(if it turns out she sufferes from a status effect) and while it probably won't do as much damage I still think it's worth to hit the King with Blizzard, Icycle and Force Lance now for the rest of the group Goma use the horn, I also like you to cast heal on Isalia and then cast puppet on her to try to calm her down, beyond that use your heal spell to provide support to any ally that needs healing Cherchiel, you know the drill, turn into Boarchiel and rip and tear until it's done Lri take charge of your fellow Sirens and provide Cherchiel with support Lemiel, well you already suck in water so I'm not sure how much you can do here Mermaids, if you have an magic that could shield our group from the Kings water attack, now would be a good time to cast it
Since Lemiel moves slower underwater than most even under ideal conditions, I think she should stand guard over Yulia and help block attacks sent her way since the king seems intent on taking Yulia down with him. I also think Lri would be better used going towards Isalia to grab her and try to bring her back to Yulia and Goma, depending on the nature of what is happening to her. I think that would be more effective than having Goma try to Puppet Isalia. Otherwise I agree with Gambio.
Oh, that fight was actually loseable, huh? Good thing we didn't. For fucks sake can you stop your bloodlust for one goddamn second? There is an entire kingdom of fishpeople to enslave! Do you really want to do this right now? Listen here buckos, you can either play nice and keep this truce up until we are off the floor or we will side against whoever makes the first strike. So if anyone wants to fuck around and find out, be my guest. See what happens Also were taking the scepter. Neither of you will be happy with the other getting it, so having a neutral party take charge of it is the best outcome. Isalia! Good to have you back. We came to you as fast as possible, I swear. Looks like you didn't suffer any lasting consequences from the whole eel birthing thing, but just to be safe we should have Yulia cast identify on you again to make sure they are all gone. This tower has a weird impregnation fetish. Oh, and I guess Cherchiel, if you wouldn't mind pull your fellow angel out from under the floor.
Let’s not immediately piss off the mermaids and sirens when we just got through that battle. I think Yulia should make a point of NOT looking for the scepter, and instead focus on healing people. Lumiel and Isalia are both looking especially rough, so start with them, and then move on to the rest of our team, and finally sirens and mermaids who need it. If we grab the scepter, we’re liable to have both sides target us. But if we maintain neutrality, we can hopefully gain the time we need to leave the floor. We may be enough to break a tie between the two forces, but there are two huge armies outside. We won’t be making it out if we grab the scepter and try to make a break for it. A few notes. Lemiel, thank you for protecting Yulia. Ensuring she stayed in the fight meant she could disarm the king, leading to our victory. We’ll make sure to heal you up for your troubles. Isalia, sorry about all of this. Just focus on resting and recovering. Goma, we’ll try to handle this peacefully, so just focus on comforting Isalia.
My dear Miss Emmie, I fear you are severely downplaying our cards here. Now that the fish people and Aqua have been defeated we are the queen maker. We don't have to worry about pissing off the Siren and Mermaids, they have This scepter is too important an artifact. Neither side will allow the other to have it. If we don't claim it the Siren and Mermaid will start tearing each other to pieces right away And while I certainly concede that this is not really our concern there are two points I want to bring up one: I want that scepter. We still have three floors ahead of us. Leaving valuable loot behind just does not sit right with me two: If war breaks out right now Lri will be caught in the crossfire. I happen to grow rather fond of her. She is useless but cute, so it like to keep her alive if possible
I think you're dangerously overestimating our party. Isalia needs time to rest, Lemiel is injured and stuck in a wall, and Lri would side against us if we tried to take the scepter for ourselves. I'll concede that both sides may begin to fight to gain the scepter. But if we get it, they'll all target us. And if we remain neutral, hopefully neither side will want to attack us and turn us against their side. And the scepter is far more valuable for the sirens and mermaids than for us. It's one of three relics left behind by Levateinn and gives legitimacy to their rule. It also controls water, which we have no guarantee of being useful on subsequent floors, at least not enough to justify the risk of trying to get it. If we want loot, we could grab anything else and we'd probably be fine. As for Lri, unfortunately, she'll get caught up in things as long as she stays on this floor. I'd welcome her if she wanted to continue forward with us, but the deal to keep her was to capture the leviathan and I don't know if we can do that at this point. And I don't think we've given her good reason to want to continue with us of her free will.
That was an absolutely based play by Lri. Let's try to live up to her act of courage and expectations and do what we can for this floor. First of all, at a minimum, the Siren Queen and Mermaid Goddess need to be removed from power. They're blinded by a desire for power and will continue to wage war if left unchecked. But we don't necessarily need to kill them. If they'll formally renounce their positions and give up their Artifacts, it could be fine to imprison them in comfortable cells. Something closer to a house arrest. The main issue is: how to preserve peace when it was broken so easily. The previous treaty had an obvious loophole that Aqua exploited by wiping out both sides of the battle he interrupted. Once the treaty was broken, he began handing out weapons that created an arms race that could have led to one faction overpowering the others. This temptation was what really caused the war. But Aqua's own motive was twofold: First, to create conflict on this floor to impede the progress of the Chosen (unless they sided with the Tower Below). And second, to kill Maeva and allow Levateinn to return to the floor. For peace between the factions, the most we can do is hope cool heads like Lri can take charge if we remove the powerhungry leaders. But for the issue of preventing Levateinn from meddling with the floor going forward, I have the seeds of a plan that Gambio probably won't like. Could entrusting the three artifacts to Maeva, who is preventing Levateinn's return, allow for a more permanent solution? If that were the case, I'd be willing to trade the three artifacts for assurance of peace on this floor and a stop to Levateinn's schemes. After all, we still owe her for what she did to Muna. And if possible, I'd like to leave this floor better off than we found it if we can. I suspect Gambio will argue for us taking all three artifacts, and if the plan I described above doesn't work, it may be safer for the artifacts to be removed from the floor so they can't be used to legitimize new attempts to claim Levateinn's old throne.
The solution is obvious. The Siren Queen and Mermaid Goddess have to marry each other! ...no? tch, fine. The Mermaid goddess hasn't really done anything to warrant that much scrutiny. I guess turning Lri into a mana battery was uncool, but that can be excused by the fact that they were faced with imminent extinction. There are a few problems with removing the two leaders from power: The Siren is a Queen, which does imply she has a king or at least some sort of lineage. We would have to get rid of them as well Meanwhile the Mermaid is a Goddess, and appears to have at least some ties to the tower above. Killing her might piss off OTG On a more practical level nature abhors a vaccuum and whoever comes next might be just as bad or worse. There's also a chance that the whole thing comes crumbling down and the place devolves into pure anarchy. That all said, I already stated that I don't particularly care about this floor as long as we get the scepter and Lri. I suppose if we defeat Queen and Goddess here we get their items as well which would be pretty sweet. Obviously I'm against handing them over to Maeva. With all that said, here is my solution: We defeat Queenie and Goddess here and take their magic items But we leave them alive and force them to have hot steamy sex with each other We then hand Queenie over to the Mermaids and Goddess over to the Siren Both factions have now a very high level hostage which will hopefully prevent the other from taking action, again this is based on the fact that Queenie has a lineage and Goddess is revered as, well, a goddess But this all hinges upon the fact that we keep the three items, without that I see no reason to engage in battle and instead advice to just walk out.
To be clear here, since it seems to be important for your descision. The Siren Queen does not have a King, she is a solo monarch and Goddess is just a title. She is not in fact divine in any way and has no ties to the Tower Above. She and the rest of the mermaids are just very pretentious.
I'll at least agree with Gambio that the Queen should be imprisoned by the Mermaids and the Goddess by the Sirens. But I think each should be sealed in the other's private chambers, and not used as sex slaves. We don't want to breed more resentment between the factions. Also, if we leave behind the three artifacts, I suspect we could take other items from the private reserves of the Sahuagin. Part of the significance of the items comes from their connection to Levateinn, it provides some legitimacy to attempts to reclaim her throne. While they are still probably the most powerful items on this floor, we could probably find some good substitutes. Maybe find some cool metals that Martin would enjoy working with. Giving these up doesn't necessarily mean we walk away empty-handed. This is completely unrelated to everything going on, but I have a quick question: What was the name of the previous Chosen? I have an absolutely insane crackpot theory that it's a name Yulia knows very well.
I will not answer that question, but you could probably find someone who would be able to tell you their name.
I can't in good judgement agree to this. My main concern is getting Yulia safely through this tower, anything else is secondary. Leaving items behind that might make the difference between one of our party members kicking the bucket or not is something I can not condone. The fight against Queenie and Goddess is by no means a sure fire thing. I wager it will be about the same difficult as the fishking, meaning we could lose that engagement. I can't justify taking that risk for zero gains, let alone giving up what we currently already have. As such I propose we just walk and let them sort it out themselves.
Newest Post: It's too bad the Sahuagin Palace is relatively clean or we could have a full on mud fight...
