The queen really made it sounds like she would have given us much more. We already have pretty strong melee fighters. I don't think we need too many corpses to bolster them.

With her demonic connections Hungry Sands is also a possibility.

I wonder if there's anything the Queen can tell us about the Hungry Sands and Bal'Zebul? Since Goregut had that portal inside it that sent its victims to the Hungry Sands, I'm sure she'd be sympathetic to our idea of taking down the Hungry Sands. Although, at this point, it just doesn't seem feasible. As things stand, I wish we could take on the Hungry Sands, but I just don't like our odds enough to risk it.

As for Dahlia, I doubt even she would be comfortable in the Hungry Sands. I suspect she's hanging out at the Hive.

Also, I wonder if the Tower Functionary who collects panties might overlap with one of the ones we mentioned? Maybe the jailer, mother of monsters, or archmage could have that as a hobby? Because it'd be kind of sad if that was their only job, and they only got to collect from Chosen who reached the top floor.

Intresting, I would guess that anything mechanical, or perhaps non-thinking, is vulnerable to Open, and that Open will cause it to do something it was designed to do (if not in quite the way it was designed to do it). Not quite "open a hole in space" broken, but still trivialises most things that aren't a fight.

I think 30, 150% of Lemiel's mana (leaving enough for a couple of rounds of normal spells). We will need to produce a lot of potions to offset the cost, so produce an excess before we move on.

The only other thing I want to ask about is if they are willing to help us attack the hungry sands.

I think Maple is onto something. The idea of actions being worth something reminds me of a myth from a culture very similar to the one in the Tomb. In Ancient Egyptian myth, the dead had their hearts weighed on a scale. The heart was placed on one scale, and the feather of a goddess of truth was placed on the other. If the person whose heart was weighed was a good person, it would balance with the feather and they could go to the paradise of an afterlife. If they were a bad person, their heart would weigh more than the feather, and their heart would be eaten by a monster. Maybe the Queen has some kind of similar mechanism where she can weigh what someone does for the Tomb vs what the Tomb does for them? Killing Goregut was undoubtedly a huge boon, but if we ask for too much in exchange then we'll face some kind of penalty?

Even if I'm wrong about the specifics, I'm wary of asking for too much. Besides, we already got the main things we wanted: corpses we can use as undead and an alliance against the Hungry Sands should we choose to go to battle.

Also, I had a thought: Would Unlock work on the wasps? We may need level 4 of it to 'unlock' the true personalities and wills of the wasps, but it might be worth heading back to the coffee shop and testing it out. There's only one scorpion and two wasps here, in case it doesn't work and a fight breaks out. But if it does work, we have a very effective weapon we can use against the Hive.

The Mummies really love their trickery and mind you we didn't just get the corpses we also got free passage through their tomb.

There's a decent chance they revoke that free passage in exchange for another boon.

Of course, that could still be worth it, now that we have unlock with us.

But on the other hand, I also are not really sure what else we should ask. I mean more stuff is always nice, but right now there are too many uncertainties revolving this so I say we stop here.

I doubt level 3 unlock is quite that OP, but might as well give it a try If the scorpions have a problem with that we can easily crush them.

I feel like if this works or not would determine our next course of action, so let's wait and see.

I have no idea why she wants us to ask for more, but I really can't think of anything and the whole attitude is suspicious. Also, what's inside the sarcophagus, although it could just be something round rolling about. Let's just say we will come back later if we need anything else.

If my theory on what Open can effect is correct (anything with some kind of non-sentient trigger) then Open working on the wasps imply they can be reverted by doing *something* with the collar. It could be a fun experiment. If nothing else threatening to free a bunch of wasps and cause havoc might be enough to get to the exit with minimal trouble (although getting the tarantula girl also sounds quite good).

We should make an unreasonable quantity of potions to keel Lemiel topped up, just in case something happens making mass production hard. Unless there is somewhere else in the tomb we have yet to visit I think we should move on. Of the hive or the hungry sands, I vote hungry sands as we now have reinforcements and last time a large (extra) group of backup was basically instant victory.
Also, once we are outside I want to have firestorm mastered if it safe to do so (and find out what it does).

Well. I like how those wasps and scorpions. I am all for some rough lesbian fun and it seems like Hive has a bigggg surplus! Let's go there! :D

    (What can go wrong?)

(I will totally forget to mention little encounter that Yulia had with those scorpions in the past. There is no way this will have an consequence going forward. Not like Hive will be abuzz about chosen being around smh.)

Hmmm. For the sarcophagus, I have a vague idea of what's in it. In Ancient Egyptian culture, rulers were buried with belongings they were taking to the afterlife. This included personal belongings, valuables and jewelry, weapons... and also pets and servants. There's probably some valuable, likely magical, items in the sarcophagus itself. But getting those would piss off the Queen and I'm not going to make more enemies if we can help it.

As much as I want us to take on the Hungry Sands (and we have the very funny strategy of having Talwa cast Firestorm ahead of us over and over as we advance) I don't think even the combined forces of the Temple and the Tomb will be sufficient. I think, for now, we should head to the Hive, work out our deal for safe passage, and then slay the Collector. We'll still have the option of taking on the Sands open.

Yeah, I wasn't to keen on taking on the Demons in the first place, so going to the Hive is fine by me.

Given how much we have been given warnings of the difficulties on the final level, I'd like to deal with the Hungry Sands for potential rewards, but going to the Hive first is fine. Also we have a chance to meet Dahlia there.

I have no real preference, I think we can clear the hungry sands now we have support, or we can do the hive and see if we can get even more support.

Hmmm... if taking the Collector down would *increase* our chances of being targeted by the scorpions, it would be safer to just leave it be honestly. Having it doing its thing while we make our way through would make our job easier after all.

At a minimum, we should use Identify on it. It seems to be immune to physical damage, so if we did decide to fight it we'd probably just employ a similar strategy to what we used on Goregut. We could also try to use our new necromancy staff to try to re-reanimate it, to see if that kills it and brings it back as a weaker monster under our control. ... Actually, even if the other Voices vote against attacking the Collector outright, I think it'd be worth it to try to use the staff. Either it doesn't work and no harm done, or it does work and we can use our weaker Collector to dissuade the scorpions from attacking.

And even if the other Voices vote in favor of fighting I think we should at least let it do its thing to this scorpion.

TLDR: I vote against fighting the Collector but think we should hit it with the necromancy staff to see what happens.

Let's see what identify says and what happens after using the staff on it.

Hmmm. I think it will still be really hard since Yulia showed up after getting stuffed by the rolling insect. There will be at least rumors and once folks in hive figure out she's chosen, there will be a huge fight and it will be interesting to watch.

    Relevant:

This bitch really saw us rolling up with a small army and decided, yeah I can take them.

Every single scorpion we encountered so far suffered from delusions of grandeur. Scorpions don't even lay eggs!

And since the whole theme is "hive" with them I don't see that changing.

I almost want to put the Wasp in charges, if it weren't for the fact that everyone knows Wasps are the biggest assholes in the animal Kingdom. They are probably even worse.

They also have enslaved the Tarantulas, though, right? Maybe we could put them in charge instead. Spiders are pretty chill.

    And speaking of chill.

    We should save the scorpion.

Not out of the goodness of our heart of course of course, this is the perfect opportunity to get some intel on the Hive before entering. I'm sure the Wasp and Scorpion will be glad to provide that for us, and if she don't we have ways to make them talk.

    Sexy ways.

    Anyways.

    The collector, eh?

Now the question is if he's based on the one in Hollow Knight or Darkest Dungeon. First one is a chump, second one not so much.

I'm kinda reluctant to write my entire battlestrategy down just for us to decide to not fight the thing after all.

Since it is currently busy with the scorpion, we should indeed hit it with Identify first and see what comes up.

Oh, and obviously don't look at his lantern.

Also while we wait, might as well see if we can wake the Wasp up again. The spell the scorpions have on them must be pretty crappy if the collector can just overwrite it.

Uh..Goma hit her with a powerful orgasm via puppet, see if that jolt's her back up.

Also Also since some of the voices don't want this fight, it might be a good idea for the scorpion to grovel and beg. If she wants to be saved, that is.

Actually. Scorpion do lay eggs. In two possible ways depending on the species, either the "eggs" are soft blobs of protein held inside the female until hatching or they lay eggs. So it's absolutely possible for scorpions to stuff Yulia full of eggs.

for fucks sake, Remin, you made me look up scorpion births.

Gestation in scorpions can last for over a year in some species.[94] They have two types of embryonic development; apoikogenic and katoikogenic. In the apoikogenic system, which is mainly found in the Buthidae, embryos develop in yolk-rich eggs inside follicles. The katoikogenic system is documented in Hemiscorpiidae, Scorpionidae and Diplocentridae, and involves the embryos developing in a diverticulum which has a teat-like structure for them to feed through.[95] Unlike the majority of arachnids, which are oviparous, hatching from eggs, scorpions seem to be universally viviparous, with live births.[96] They are unusual among terrestrial arthropods in the amount of care a female gives to her offspring.[97] The size of a brood varies by species, from 3 to over 100.[98] The body size of scorpions is not correlated either with brood size or with life cycle length.[99]

Alright, apparently they do develop eggs inside their body, but give life birth
