"Neighbour? Ah, so you're not some would be hero, here to purify this place in the name of justice or some pathetic god?" The female voice echoes through the dark as the woman beyond chuckles.
"Well then, come closer, neighbour." The last word sizzles with a tone of mockery.
"See what lies in wait - if you can handle it..."
The tunnel ahead of Zendak is painfully dark, lit only by the ectoplasmic glow of his ghost companions, who alarmingly look worried. The narrow passageway begins imperceptibly to widen the longer he travels down it, and as he reaches out with his sixth sense, he starts to notice other mortal vital signs - incredibly weak, but there. Quite a few of them, for a place of the dead. The tunnel, initially only wide enough for he and his party to stand in single file (if one ignores the fact that his companions can go through walls), widens enough for them to stand abreast. He sees light coming from the far side. Blue, bright, hard to identify at first. Then, he sees orange light as well. As the tunnel gives way to a large open chamber, his eyes painfully adjust, as he sees what they illuminate. Runes carved into the wall of the large chamber glow with spectral energy, too ancient for him to translate. The orange glow come from the chests of women, bound to the wall, their life force being extracted by some spell.
"Well, neighbour." The speaker smiles from a runic circle on the floor of the chamber. "Like what you see?" She grins, as a monstrosity of bone slithers around her buxom frame.
