@Elfie @lady-lux Kaelaen blinked, before glancing at Seri, before looking back. She clicked her tongue, before nodding her head. "Alright." She said. "Anything else we should take back?" She turned to Seri with a question. "Medicine, tools, weapons?"
With a firm target in mind, Olena found her first obstacle. To be specific, she did not know where she was or which direction she should go. She did not even know if anyone else knew that. So, she was left with either going blind in any direction or thinking of a way to find the direction to go to.
@majus @Elfie “Weapons?” Nami shakes her head. “I only have my little blaster… But I can find some first-aid supplies to bring, yes, to cover any minor needs and emergencies over there. For anything more serious, we should bring people to this ship. I should give everyone a full check-up, eventually…” She rubs her head, trying to clear a sudden pile-up of thoughts, priorities. “Sorry. We haven’t – had time to make any proper plans yet. Just have to take things one at a time for now.”
@majus @lady-lux Seri hitches the clothing bundle under her arm, and places her free hand on Nami’s elbow, giving her a squeeze. “Hey, listen. You don’t have to have thought of everything. You’re doing really, really well. Better than I think any of us could.” She doesn’t lean on her pheromones, but tries to communicate as much reinforcement and support as she can, “Maybe I can help with tools, or weapons? Or hell, just tell me what medicine we need and I’ll carry it. You’ve got this.”
How embarrassing. Could Olena think on the briefings and pre-mission intelligence materials to get an idea of where they needed to go? If not, she would try to recall the paths the Imperial vehicles had taken as they patrolled over the encampment during her time on night watch, then go in the direction of where the aircraft had come from.
@majus @Elfie Nami takes a deep breath, in and out. Seri’s encouragement gives her a sense of calm, stability, helping her back to safe ground. She nods gratefully. “Sorry— I mean, thank you. I’d better pick out the medical supplies myself. I need to see what my stocks look like anyway. I don’t know what tools I can spare that would be useful. If you can think of anything…” She looks at Seri. “If you like, you could see what food supplies I have in the galley. Get something for yourself, and see if there’s anything suitable to bring over…?” She smiles, giving a faintly embarrassed shrug. “I can’t remember how long since I stocked up, but there has to be something left in there.”
@majus @lady-lux Seri nods, as brightly as her uneven emotional state allows for. She feels slightly dazed: this rush of ups and downs, and the way that - despite knowing her what may not even have been an hour later - Nami’s presence is helping her to navigate them, centre herself. She can’t think of the last time someone made her feel this safe - if ever. “Galley. Got it.” She broadens her grin, nodding attentively. “I’ll… find my way.” She steps back, lingering as long as she can, before slipping past Kaelaen and out of the room.
@majus @Elfie Nami feels a faint pang of concern as Seri leaves. Is she worried about letting Seri be alone, or is it concern for herself—? She tries to put that aside. She turns to Kaelaen. “If you can bring…whatever’s left here, I’ll go get the medical supplies. And we can all head over to the Sarlaac together.”
@majus @lady-lux Seri does her best to locate the galley - and her best to not be nosy. But she can’t help but keep her eyes out for signs of life, signs of Nami’s life. What sort of person she is, what she’s been through. She’s well aware how quickly and closely she’s latched onto her rescuer, but she has a feeling - hope? - that the connection is mutual. But in that, she senses that Nami’s suffered, too. Sure she’s found the gallery, she puts her thoughts to one side, preparing to track down what she can, and hoping she can find Nami something fortifying too.
Spoiler: Memory 12 vs DC 12 - success As Olena thought about possible directions, she realised that at night, she saw a glow in the dark. It was either a possible location of a bigger settlement or an imperial camp. It was a risk... She could go that direction, or she could try of thinking of something else.
Kaelaen hesitated for a moment, wincing. "I... would prefer not to. I am not familiar with medical equipment and I would not even know what is important." She admitted, a little ashamed of her lack of skill.
As Seri checked through the space, she realised that there is not that much information or private things that could be found. She found some clothes, a few datapads about medicine she could not make heads or tails of, others with some cheap stories and a few more private things - a dildo and some quite revealing clothes. There were no pictures or anything that could tell about Nami's family or history, besides the medical stuff.
@majus @lady-lux Seri winces, as she realises she’s veered off track and into Nami’s private things. She blushes profusely at the more personal discoveries. Even though she can’t quite help control her runaway thoughts, imagining Nami’s azure skin and soft curves in those scanty outfits… That’s enough of that! Continuing to blush, she bundles up a few of Nami’s clothes, hurriedly selecting a outfit that she hopes her new - friend, I hope so - associate will find her spirits lifted by, should she find time to change. It’s a little thing, but it’s something, as her debt to Nami mounts up. She grabs the medical datapads too, in case they’re helpful, but leaves the rest, not wanting to come off as the nosy so-and-so that she knows she is. With those, and as much pre-packed food as she can carry, she heads back to rejoin the others.
“Oh, I – that’s all right.” Nami smiles. “Don’t worry, I’ll take care of the medical things. I won’t be long.” She heads in the direction of the medical lab, to gather some simple first aid supplies. Trying to anticipate some common needs, hoping she has enough to spare for so many people. With the perils she knows are lurking out there on this very station – no, she can’t let herself think about that yet…
Seems like a good start! "High-five, brain," Olena congratulated the cerebral organ in question, she knew it had to work hard for that one. The Amaran Amazonian would lead her team in the direction of that point of interest. If it did turn out to be an Imperial outpost, they would have to be supplied somehow. Putting it under observation would allow the group to follow the direction of any logistics vehicle tending to the garrison's needs... Or she could report it to Adot and see about seizing it for its equipment and intelligence.
The group systematically gathered the supplies and soon they were ready to move. The travel back itself was uneventful, but there were a few men who threw a look in their direction. Seri's clothes were quite restrictive when she moved, and she felt that if she made to 'big' move, they might tear. Soon, the group reached the Zygerian ship, with all the supplies. "Ah... prison turned home, bitter home~" Jura chuckled as she led the group onboard. "But seriously, we need to figure out how to get cash soon, boss."
The group started moving, following where Olena led them. Spoiler 18 vs DC 11 - success Around noon, after a few hours of travelling and boredom, Olena paused as she noticed something. Movement, in front of them... there, again! A flash of white in the green in front.
@majus @lady-lux Seri peers up at the larger ship, feeling a faint sene of dread at the sight of it. Foreboding, and the knowledge that not so long ago, it was her prison too. She’s stayed close to Nami on the walk over, flinching at the male attention they’ve attracted. Another time, she might have found a way to convince herself she enjoyed it, even thrown them a wink or two. Not now. She gives Jura a companionable elbow bump at her little quip, trying to put a brave face on, then follows the others on their way inside.
@majus @Elfie Particularly after…earlier, those glances and gazes make Nami shiver. Being looked at that way herself makes her feel afraid – but resigned, at the same time, knowing she deserves no better. When the men look at her friends like that, though, and at Seri in particular, that sets an angry edge to her mood, one she tries to suppress. “It’s true,” she says to Jura as they head inside. “I just don’t know what…” She presses her hands together, thinking out loud. “We do have two ships with some room for cargo each. There could be credits to be made transporting goods…but knowing what this place is like, we’d probably be asked to move contraband. Could get ourselves in even more trouble…” She shakes her head. “We need to know what else we have to work with. If I can’t find a way to get paid for doctoring, I’m also pretty good with machines, technology. Maybe I can find some repair and maintenance jobs. It doesn’t feel like much, but it’s something…”
@majus @lady-lux Seri is quiet for a while as Nami and the others speak, unsure of herself and her place, not wanting to run her mouth and contribute nothing worthwhile. She realises, painfully, when Nami says “this place”, she’s not actually sure where this place is. She really needs to get her shit together. When Nami stops though, she pipes up after a pause, her voice uncharacteristically small and uncertain. “I’m a fair slicer, I know my way around terminals and computers…” she trails off, wincing self-consciously, “I know, I don’t exactly look the capable, techie part. But I could help out there. Otherwise I could… I could, well, I was a - a dancer. I could do that. If we… needed.” She realises the implications of what she’s saying, and hugs the bundles of clothes and supplies to her chest, suddenly very interested in her toes. “Whatever I can do. I just know it’s really important to get the credits we need. My track record holding onto funds isn’t so great, but I figure someone else can be responsible for that.” She cracks a weak grin, self-conscious in the extreme, and hoping that the conversation will move onto other avenues of making money.
