I don't know that qualifies as the kind of prejudice you are implying (although if we got into semantics--which we shouldnt--it could be interpreted as some kind of prejudice to be sure). Sexual preference *might* indicate racial prejudice, but it doesnt have to. Like I mentioned above, black men polling higher could be just as indicative of prejudice as polling lower. Sex and turn ons are complicated things, and very individual. You just can't interpret these very raw statistics to mean something like that.
I agree if the number of voters were a few hundred or thousands higher there might be more weight. Of this poll how many votes were people allowed needs to be taken in to consideration. Is it 1 vote for one item or is it 1 vote as many times as you want? Perhaps getting better idea of what people like and dislike is not putting a simple straw poll, but more of a questionnaire with say for example purposes 100 questions asking certain preferences in different scenarios and how they feel about them. That is some heavier weight then a straw poll.
You could build a small list of questions and let readers interact more with each chapter. Similar to the quest stories. They tend to get readers involved.
