What could be so bad about a box? That is the question you likely asked yourself when you took on the job. It paid well, and was sure to be a cake walk. Steal some golden box from some rich guy? Easy enough. But who could prepare you for the absolute hell that it would bring to your already crappy life. What is so bad about a box indeed? **************************************** So, i'm looking for 3-5 players for a shadowrun/Apoc World-esque type game i've been working on. It uses a d6 (sees people walking away), ONLY 2d6, not 30+, come back here! So, lets get down to business. Setting The 80s version of our future. Neons everywhere, corporate controlled, and major have and have nots about. Sad to say, that you're probably a have not. Tokyo. More specifically, Shinjuku Warded District. Why is it warded? Well, can't let those pesky demi humans and Yokai out. You live in a crappy neighborhood, filled with thugs, monsters, and enough neon to make Vegas blush. But, you're free. You're probably not a wage slave at some mega corp. Sure, they consider you shit, but being beneath notice has its perks. Namely, you can discreetly... or potentially not so discreetly, get things done. Who are you? You're the local criminal element. In old times, you'd be a band of adventurers. They have a name for that now. Vigilantes. Mercenaries. Thugs. You live from pay check to pay check, and probably do less than legal things. Are you evil? Maybe. But morality is a pretty grey area, especially with the biggest crooks running the show. Maybe you're a robin hood type thief? Or an assassin with a moral compass? Whatever the case, you don't fit in high society, and have long traded a comfy life for freedom. Races Open: All. While the game system has a listed race, it is open to homebrew race. While i'd prefer no space aliens running around, if you can come up with a fair and balanced tentacle monster template, i'd be willing to let you use it. What System? Homebrew, working title is Neon and Nylons. While it is a work in progress (aka, this will be a bit of an alpha test), it is playable. The only thing not listed is Threats, which is easy enough to explain. You bring your own threats. What do I mean? Your past. Who hates you. Did you have an affiliation with some mega corp? Or maybe an old flame is mad that you took the family dog? While ultimately the Box will be underlying tone, the players are world crafting with the DM. That said, here is a link to the running system https://docs.google.com/document/d/1UGctAYi7mansBS2fknsPvZCGdlJBD3R6gPS2ZBRm9-w/edit How much sex? As much as you put into it. If you're go to action for paying extra is to bend over and to let the vendors pound you silly, or pound them silly? Well, that just means you're getting more sex. If it is a pounding in the slamming their head into a wall, well, that is far less sex, now isn't it? Character Sheet Code Name: (what others know you by) Class Skills HP Spells Known Cybernetics Anything further is optional. You can put down your history if you want, or just PM with important details. Exp is gained through getting through the missions, although will be rewarded for completing missions according to your moral compass. Even if said compass happens to get in the way of things. One Final Thing The Fiction rules all. What do I mean? Your actions construct the game. This isn't DnD where everyone is just a murder hobo. Ultimately, the players determine how they get shit done, and what they do against threats. Beyond this, I want at least a post or 2 per week, to keep things running. So, anyone interested?
Similar goes for me, not interested in playing right now, but I'll take a look at the system and see if that changes. (Not a huge fan of dystopias, and I HATE apoc-world in particular.)
whoa, interest perked up overnight. It'd be great if you can join, but can understand if you don't want to.
Let me just ask a very simple (but not quick to answer) question while your here: can I, as a player, in your game: make a real difference?
Well, this is a shadowrun clone so.... sorta. A resounding, sorta. You can totally save the day, take out the evil CEO, banish the demons, and all that. As for a real, positive change? Despite what fairy tails tell you, that takes time, followers, and money. So, in the short term... i'd say you're elevating your personal position (either through good or just through any means necissary). As for saving the world by making them see the corruption? You're gonna have to work for it. So, to answer your question. Maybe, sorta, and it is possible.

Yeah, it's a character sheet I made for this game like...weeks ago, when knight first mentioned it to the group we're a part of. He didn't offer a template so I just made one my own. Been sitting on this one for awhile as I waited for him to decide how he wanted to do the game. Didn't feel like bothering with the spoiler stuff and just copy/pasted the document
nah. What I linked is pretty much it. Only thing missing is a full list of cybernetics, magic, and Sins, but sins are pretty easy
