Using the last couple of seconds of the speed spell she takes a quick look around to make sure she won't accidentally stumble upon something on the ground, then chants a few more words, casting a different spell – one that will blur her and make her more difficult to hit for a few minutes. It's naturally more exhausting than her previous spell, but under the circumstances it is worth it. Not getting any good ideas Valerie focuses ion the chimeras, trying to be ready for any attack they might attempt. Then she gets an idea. It's a long shot, but... what do I have to lose? She waves her longsword at the beasts, attempting to figure out if there's some way to shoot the flames at them.

I guess it was a bit too optimistic of me to think I would be able to throw fireballs from my sword as soon as I got it... maybe some day in the future. Still, one of them seems distracted. That's something, I guess... Not willing to risk fighting both beasts at the same time Valerie keeps her distance and tries to find a better spot – a place where the chimeras would be forced to fight her one at a time. As she tries to find such a spot she keeps waving her sword in order to keep the larger of the two mesmerized. Her search is impeded by the fact that she tries to also keep the second beast in her sight, in case it decides to attack her, but under the circumstances she has no better ideas.
as valerie searches the area she's in she finds that there is an alleyway that she can fight from with an advantage and while she swings her sword overhead it appears the other chimera also becomes mesmerized as well, while the first one falls asleep at the armoured gaurds feet where upon they stab it in the head killing it...the larger chimera has now defeated 2 of the four golums it was fighting
Crap, that's not good... Alright, time for a change of tactic. Valerie decides when she notices the new developments. Keeping the alleyway in mind for later she changes direction and starts heading towards the last of the small chimeras, trying to keep it mesmerized by waving her sword until she's close enough to stab it in the head and kill it.
