The old man smiles. "I doubt you'll be reprograming anything without tools. Come on, follow me". He leads Kayana to a bench, below a rack of mechanical and automotive tools. "You have any skill with droids?"
"You know, that is good idea. I will go check, maybe on this ship I could find some right generator. Thanks." Fendrat get up and go looking for shield generator in store room. He want to try this idea as soon as he can.
This guy had went from a hostage to being surprisingly on board with as far as Kay considered them to be, shenanigans. While the cyborg did wonder if this was some kind of Stockholm Syndrome scenario, it was working in his favour. “Well, not exactly. I have plenty of machine parts, but I don’t really need to think too hard on how they all work. I figured that it would be better to try and make it more friendly or at least data wipe it, before properly fixing up the murder robot. Apparently, you actually know this stuff a lot better. I kind of thought you’d be a problem, but you’re a pretty cool guy.”
He laughs a little bit. "I'm glad someone thinks so. I don't know much about droids, but someone on my crew is basically a genius with 'em. I can have him take a look, if you like?" The man runs a hand through Kay's hair. "I didn't think that I'd be cooperating quite this much either, but for a hijacker, you've been pretty good company".
Fendrat nod to him, knowing good pain working with delivery resources. "Do you have any personal shield generator? I have theory which demand tring in practice."
The quartermaster nods. "You're on that mission, right? All right, sign here". He hands him a datapad and stylus, and turns to go grab one. "How heavy duty do you want it to be? We only have a few small ones. They'll block a shot, maybe two, of blaster fire, but after that they're fried. I hope you don't need something that can block a tank blast."
Fendrat smile and write his name. "No, small one should be enough. To be true, It will be more to protect other, then to protect me. I doubts about heavy cannons." He said and give him back datapad. Zeltron take shield generator and put it on his belt. "Okey, let's see how it will be working." He said and go out to look for any female. Pilot friend from accademy or death stormtrooper, depends who will he find first.
"Engh..." Kayana made a somewhat surprised noise at feeling the old guy's touch. While half of his reaction was to kill anything that ever got near to him, it was usually overpowered by something else. Not now... The cyborg's girlish face starting to flush a little, squinting, slowly opening one eye to get a proper look at him. Kay didn't see this guy as good looking or even average, but a very familiar and needy feeling was starting to creep up....but he probably wasn't trying to make that happen. Regardless, the assassin viewed it as necessary to put up with. A lot of the future hinged on having that droid rebuilt and killing their captain wouldn't be a good way to win them over. "Ah jeez...where are you touching?" Not moving away or raising any kind of real resistance, Kay just stared upward with one eye as the rest of him tensed from the sudden touch.
He sees Meera a few times, but she intentionally avoids him. Trying to find her, he enters the hangar and sees Loreley and her wingman.
Fendrat on the secend thought take decition, It will be better if he waiting with trial after mission will be done. Better not disturb her. Zeltron go to his chamber, to get ready for action.
The captain presses himself into Kay's back. Kay can feel a large hard on pressing onto him. "Look, friend. I'm not normally like this, but I like you, I'm surprised how much. How about this: I take you back to my crew, get my expert to reprogram your droid, and then fly you to wherever you're going on this job of yours, and get you off the planet when the shit goes down. All I ask is that I get 10% of the pay, to stop the men from mutinying, and that the two of us have some fun." He rubs his length up and down, still playing with Kay's hair.
Loreley looked in awe at the two starfighters, having never seen one of this new model before. She put down her stuff nearby and approached the ships. The pilot looked to Tarrik, 'Wha-? Oh, sure, I'm fine.' 'I've never seen one of these. They just send us off with new fighters without training? Do we at least have a manual?' Loreley called to Tarrik, as she went to the other ship and started to inspect the access panels, which looked familiar from the normal fighter model.
She sees that the controls are essentially identical to those of the TIE fighters she's piloted before. The engine is similar, but clearly more powerful, and there's a shield generator. Tarrik says "The Captain said that we'd be given fighters with shields, since we could possibly be outnumbered."
Loreley looked over the ship and its systems, she shouted over to Tarrik, 'Shields and two more cannons? Bloody hell, this reactor better be damn good. I'll have a look inside.' She climbed the ladder over the top and dropped down into the cockpit, settling in on the seat and looking around for a checklist for doing a systems check.
Powering up the engines, Loreley performs a system check. All seems in order. She can see Tarrik doing the same.
Loreley nodding to herself that it was running fine, she tried to get a hang of the new power management she had to do with the new shields before having to learn it the hard way in combat.
As Loreley familiarises herself with the new craft, she hears the Captain's voice come over the intercom. "We are about to leave hyperspace. ETA five minutes."
'Oh bugger!' Loreley cursed and quickly climbed out of the cockpit, she rushed over to her gear. After pulling the life-support unit over her head and fastening it around her, she grabbed her helmet and put it on, connecting the hoses between the unit and the helmet. She performed a vacuum seal check and then ran back to her interceptor, giving Tarrik a thumbs up one the way. Climbing back in the cockpit and closing the hatch, she waited for the command to launch.
