Places carrying the thing she wants are plentiful, but ones selling it legally are far less numerous in the Lower City. After a while, though, she does manage to find a licensed medical supply shop.
'Alright, Wookiee food it is,' Loreley said and followed Fendrat to the shuttle. [Gonna be away for a few hours, just assume Loreley goes along chatting and maybe teases the guys a bit.]
1,500 credits from the bounty, 3,000 from the dealing, left her with about 4,500 to spare. Most of her tools were fine. All she needed was to replace some painkillers, which still didn't typically come to cheap. At least, she didn't really have to use that much yet and it was safer than trying to use anything picked up in the streets that wouldn't be reliable. After giving a list to the clerk, they went to get her order ready. It wasn't the over the counter stuff that could just be gotten anywhere. It left her pretty much on her own, to wait for them to finish. Knowing it would be a while, she stepped back outside to light up another smoke.
DT-L30 nods, following the rest of the group. While his mind wanders back into that weird vision he just had.
A few men come to hit on Danann, but they go away when requested. She sees the Cathar walking by. When the two meet eyes, the mercenary walks up. "Can I grab a smoke?" She asks.
DT tries to think about it, but the images are cloudy, and dissipate as he tries to remember them. Still, as he walks, he gets glimpses of himself, electricity pulsing through his body. For the duration of these flashes, he feels powerful.
Dana was about to say something, but looked up to see it wasn’t these typical nuisances that had approached her. Raising an eyebrow for a moment, she’s a little surprised to see the Cathar not spend her downtime in a bar. Regardless, Danann doesn’t really debate in just handing one over to her. “Yeah. Here.” What were they supposed to talk about...she may have been a capable doctor, but nobody had ever called Dana the friendliest person. “...Dannan, if you didn’t already know my name by now.”
She nods, leaning in to have the cigarette lit. Taking a drag, and exhaling, she says "Sara". She scratches her head. "Hey, about you and the Captain, no one gives a shit. Art's just a petty asshole who tries to get back at you when you turn him down. Don't worry about him".
"Ugh..." DT-L30 groaned in a hushed tone, as he tried to recall the cloudy visions. Though unclear, he could see himself being engulfed by lightning, making an unknown power surge through him...
Dana gave a short laugh. “I refuse to accept that’s he ever seen a woman naked without needing to be escorted out by security from the changing rooms.” The silence came back for a few minutes before Dana felt the need to say something, that blush starting to form on her face, with an awkward expression that didn’t fit her mature features at all. “...I didn’t have sex with him!” Her defensiveness was loud enough that people walking by could hear causing a few to turn their heads, but she quieted down quickly. “....with Cyrus. We didn’t actually do that much....we made out a little and it was...amazing. But it wasn’t much more than that.”
Meera looks a little concerned. As she puts her hand on DT's arm, the visions dissipate. "Seriously, are you okay?"
Sara crosses her arms. "Look, what you did or didn't do is no one's business but yours, but even if you did fuck him, so what? No one's judging you. You need to realise that what matters are your own desires, not what people think of you. Do as you please. I mean, you are technically a criminal now." She finishes her smoke. "Anyway, think about it. Thanks for the smoke." As she walks off, disappearing into a cantina, the shopkeeper shouts out that her order is ready.
"Yeah, sure." She gave a quick response to the conversation. While it was a weird conversation to have, she may have had an actual point. It wasn't really hurting anything, was it? It was fun for all involved and it really wasn't that big of a deal, all in all...well, it wasn't worth thinking about it now. Hearing her order was ready, she went back inside to collect it and see what the total would come to.
She paid the total. It was quite a bit less than she expected. She still had some money to spend, and as she left, she debated going back to the ship already, but decided against it. She still could look at other shops while she was here and while the city could definitely be scummy, there was still a lot of worthwhile parts to take a look at. Instead, she took the time to stroll along and window shop, seeing what she could find.
Danann finds that Coruscant has many things to offer. She walks past stores selling food, clothes, consumer goods like entertainment systems and comm links. She also notices obvious drug dealers, prostitutes, and gambling parlours. As she walks, she sees a man in a mirror, walking behind her. He's heavily armoured, and wears a helmet. He doesn't approach her. She sees food stands and furniture stores, and a store advertising cubernetic implants, as she walks through the streets.
Her stride is disrupted by feeling a presence behind her, getting an eerie feeling of being watched. It wasn't uncommon for her to get that sense when it came to anywhere with men, but this felt unique. She craned her neck to take a fast glance at the cause, seeing someone walking along. That guy stood out. Was he following her or just coincidental? She choose to take a dive into the cybernetic store for a bit to see if he was following her or not. When he walked along, it seemed like he had his own business to deal with and she was still on edge. Now left in the store, she could see some displays for different levels of implants for plenty of things. What the cost was for parts varied greatly and most would be out of the standard price range, but she opted to take a look anyway. Maybe she could manage haggling a lower rate for something.
She sees various optical enhancements, mods to enhance someone's physical abilities, making them faster, stronger, able to breath underwater, etc. It's pricey. The cheapest option, an optical enhancement that supposedly allows for magnification and enhancement of vision, is on display for 7000 credits. A nervous interface advertised as being capable of steadying the hands and granting greater bodily control, is on sale for 10000. Prices include surgery.
"Ugh... yea. I'm fine, its probably nothing. I guess I'm still in shock after meeting Lord Vader." DT-L30 replied with a sigh.
While definitely out of her price range, the nervous system enhancer struck out to her. Surgery required delicate hands and so did handling a gun. If she was in a high stress situation or needing to operate on a ship with turbulence, that could make all the difference, not to mention better flexibility would have it's own uses...if she ever did things with Cyrus again. It made her blink. Why was that even in her thoughts to do? It didn't totally matter. This was still far more than she could afford. Even with a total remaining at about 4050, it didn't come close to the cost. She approached the counter to take a look at the clerk as she leaned on it to get their attention. "Excuse me. That nervous system enhancer...is the price non negotiable?" She knew what she wanted, but she had to wrack her brain to put a plan in place to think of how to go about getting it.
