Teals fist unclenches. "All right. If you're sure". He smiles. "Yeah, and I'm sure you never showed yourself off intentionally. Always an accident, right?" His voice is sarcastic but good natured. He looks up at DT. "Wow, my saviour is also my kid cousin's friend". He laughs. "Small galaxy. Well, you already won me over by saving my crew, but any friend of Loreley's is a friend of mine. Did you need to use the communicator?"
"No, no prisoners, none of them were useful. I did get the name of the crew that attacked us, the Golden Wildings. Know anything about them?" He asked, looking at Loreley, and her older cousin.
'A woman needs to know how to use her assets to her advantage, doesn't she?' Loreley smiled at Teal, 'You know I've always been a bit of a tease with guys. Remember your 19th birthday party? Your school friends probably do.' She laughed at the memory. Loreley tapped her chin, 'No, the name doesn't ring a bell for me, I've shot down plenty of pirates but I never bothered to ask their gang credentials.'
Teal thinks for a moment. "Uhhh, I think so. A bunch of small time dipshits on Coruscant. They made the news by detonating a bomb in the lower city."
"I see, apparently they also knew this would all go down. How else would they have gotten here to fast?" DT-L30 said, implying the gang has a connection to the rebels. Or perhaps they knew a way to contact them.
'Small time dipshits from Coruscant? How come they get here to the wrecks before we did?' Loreley shook her head. 'Yeah, I'm thinking the same, no way they just stumbled upon a recent battle so soon,' Loreley nodded, 'They must've gotten a heads-up by the rebels to manage that. We need to report this to the ISB admiral.' Loreley smiled at Teal, 'I missed bantering with you.'
Swearing under her breath, she goes to join Dano. The young man shouts out in triumph. "We did it! Droids are shutting down". At the same time, Paz notices another bomber moving against the tower. Losing control mid run, it plummets towards the tower, colliding into it, smashing though one wall and out the other. The fifth floor is covered with dust and debris as Paz stands up. Briar helps him up, and the droid helps Dano. He hears a muffled scream from under a pile of rubble.
Teal says "It might have been an inside job. The Wildings might have had someone inside the Rebel ranks, feeding the gang information. It's not just how fast they got here, it's that they also knew to disarm the bombs the Rebels set. Even we missed some, but the pirates found them without trouble". "That makes one of us". He smiles, betraying his affection.
'Hmm, yes. The rebels would be a whole lot easier to infiltrate for a pirate gang than we are,' Loreley nodded, 'And there would be no real benefit for the rebels to give the pirates free loot. She smiled back, 'Love you too, scruffy.'
"Alright, kid. Take us back to your ship. Hey, what are you even doing on a Victory? I thought you were serving on the Harbinger?"
After making sure everyone was aboard, Loreley sat back in the pilot's chair and retracted the docking collar, taking the ship away from the cruiser gently and back to the Lion. She sighed, 'Oh, that. My squadron was lend out to Commodore Ennasax's strike group for the mission, well you know how well those went. In the battle, she crashed the Acclamator we were posted into a Rebel ship and we had to reroute to the Victory destroyers as we retreated. I haven't got any orders to return to the Harbinger yet.'
