Jack looked to Alexandra, having forgotten about the bathrobe while chatting with Laya. Not prepared to see her cleavage in the robe, his thoughts blurted out, My god... those... she's... He blushed and quickly averted his gaze upward to her gorgeous face, 'S-Snacks? Oh, yes, please. I haven't eaten anything yet.'
@Tjf @unisol_gr44 It took a few seconds before Laya thought to stop touching Jack’s cheek and take a look at Aexandra who made herself comfortable. Her thoughts didn’t broadcast like Jack’s, but her face showed how in awe she was of the dark skinned woman’s bulk. “Ah, right. That would be good.” Stepping away from Jack, she turned around at the last second, lifting her hand in a speeding motion of getting ready to slap him...then stopping just right in front of the bridge of his nose, swatting the air. Still nothing. “Can it just know? As an unconscious reaction?” She pondered this, but got some distance as she finally decided to shrug her coat off, leaving her own assets more prominently displayed, covered by her tanktop. Not to the size of Alexandra’s, but by no means small either. “It gets way too sweaty to wear that all day.”
Jack's reaction certainly wasn't some supernatural danger sense saving him from a slap, he flinched like anybody would nearly getting swatted on the nose, 'Hey, what did I say about trying to catch me off guard, doc? I get it, you're curious how it works.' He glanced at Laya breasts in her tanktop too, like any teenage boy would, before averting his gaze. Such a crazy turn of events... powers... assassins... sitting her with two drop-dead gorgeous women... what's next?
@unisol_gr44 @Tjf "Sorry...I thought...I don't know what I thought." It was tough for her to say. It seemed to come and go at random, though Jack apparently distracted more on other things and Laya didn't really say anything about him broadcasting his thoughts again. At this point, everyone was going to their mental limits of just how much they could put up with in one day, so the time to unwind wasn't easily disrupted. Jack was left observing Laya go to the kitchen area to offer help to Alexandra, feeling something faint in the back of his head. This wasn't like any of the other times it had went off. He could be barely even sure if it was there and watching the pair didn't really do much to clue him in to what's wrong. "Alexandra, I can help, if you want. I'm not good at dealing with all this assassin business, but I know how to cook." Laya offered her help and waited for a response from the teacher, only to be disrupted by another change of events. It wasn't noticeable at first. Just a few changes in light and shadow, and then...the sound of faint buzzing coming from a nearby lamp. It flickered for a second, kicking up the last bit of it's charge...then burnt out. No explosion. No violent reaction like before. Just faintly being squeezed of the last of it's light until the light from the lamp shut off. But that was it. No signs of great change or impending murder attempts. It was actually looking like they'd have some time to relax, if only for a little.
Alexandra sighs. "I think that we'll be left alone for the immediate present. Don't worry, I'm just using the microwave." After the beep, she takes out a plate of chicken nuggets and puts them on the table, sitting down on the couch and levitating one of the nuggets into her mouth. "Enjoy. I think that we should come up with some sort of plan for what to do if we get into a fight. I can make things move with my mind, but not with enough force to hurt anyone. I can sense people's feelings and emotions, though. I was able to notice that that guy wanted us dead down the hallway, and even on a different floor. If anyone comes at us with ill intent, I'll be able to warn you. I've never actually been in a fight before, though, so I don't know if I can really do anything there."
@mindtheMILF While the rest of the bunch was left half expecting something exciting to happen and also hoping not, Jack's idea of another stranger circumstance to add to the list was true. But not for him. Back in the hospital, Cho was making his discussion with the other Laya who was still struggling to put it in correct words. He was able to piece together some of what happened by scanning her mind. Apparently an exciting tale of assassins, psychic powers and an almost omniscient presence that was manipulating everyone's actions. Aside from that, it was mostly normal with Laya conducting simple tests trying to determine his stable condition. He wasn't sure of how many hours he had to spend going though basic procedures, but got roughly an answer when he heard it. "Visiting hours are over." It wasn't someone's thoughts. Actual words being spoke to somebody outside of the room. "I understand. I'll be only a minute." A calm feminine voice made a response. "Sorry, no. Come back to-hey!" The door to his room began to swing open, Laya who was busy taking his blood pressure craning her head up to take a look at the woman who had entered. She had a confident air about her, but what really stood out was the voices in her head before she spoke. Scrzzzbszzzzkchzzz It sounded like static. How was that even possible? Even these other supposed psychics had thoughts he could read. This was just...what was it? For a few seconds, he could swear that some of the strange constant stream of white noises almost made out the sounds of letters, but was just too incomprehensible to form a proper meaning behind it. Instead, he just had to look at the woman and wait for her to speak. "Dr. Cho? I'm detective, Juliana Brigs. Mind if we speak for a moment?"
Jack shook of the feeling for now, not sure what was causing it. He joined the others in the kitchen, trying his best not to look at Alexandra in her bathrobe. She grabbed some nuggets, 'Ooh, chicken nuggets, I already feel at home. Thanks!' He laughed, picking one up with a fork, 'Hmm, maybe it's not strong enough to hurt. But maybe you can train it to throw stuff hard enough?'
"Maybe, but I doubt it. I can move things around, but not fast, or with a lot of force." She laughs with him, the robe shifting around. "I'm glad you like them. I like chicken nuggets as well."
Trying not to immediately wolf down the food in front of them, she took a bite as she thought about the situation some more. "Hmm...well that gives me a thought. Our powers have limits. Other people must too. Maybe we should be trying to work around that...or find people who actually know how to use their powers to fight..." Thinking idly, she reached into her pant leg pocket to pull out the card that she was handled, but chose to throw it in the kitchen wastebasket. "I'm not sure where you'd even begin to look to though. Maybe we don't need to. Everyone sure seems to be trying to find us anyway...." Her musings were interrupted by stopping to pause to look at Alexandra in her robes again, tilting her head slightly. Her emotions reading as curious and fascinated, but saying little about it, staring off into the distance. "From what I can tell...there's another weird person at the hospital. She doesn't seem mean though...but, she's asking a bunch of questions, so I don't think she knows anything useful. We can't just sit here and react. We need a way to be able to make people respond to us instead of trying to just defend. Or...that's what I'm thinking anyway."
Jack nodded, 'Yeah, you do now... but maybe you can gain more control and more force over it? I'm just guessing, maybe it can't be trained to become better.' Concentrating on Alexandra's powers seemed to fascinate him enough to ignore her shifting bathrobe. 'Yeah, finding someone who knows about this stuff and doesn't want us dead at the same time probably should be a priority for us,' Jack nodded in agreement, before sighing, 'Maybe I shouldn't have told Adel off. She might know more.'
"Definitely, I agree with that. We can't hole up in my apartment for the rest of our lives. Who is this person?"
@Tjf @unisol_gr44 “I’m still not really planning on trusting either just yet, even if they’re good looking....seriously. Is that just some kind of illusion to perception they can do or what?” Letting out a wistful sigh, Alexandra read the odd combination of physical attraction and logical fear. Snapping out of it, she tried to focus more. “They did seem pretty strong though...I’m not sure how strong other psychic are supposed to be, but they definitely didn’t strike me as weak.” “That woman...she’s also another suspiciously good looking person. She calls herself a detective, but she’s just asking about the alarm and why it’s pulled, I’m not sure she’d know anything or be able to help...but if the police are trying to investigate, maybe we could try pushing them in the right direction? Or that’s a bad idea?”
Dr. Cho knowing that he couldn’t read her mind gave him two thoughts normalcy and hesitation. He speaks with real words now that he is feeling better with Layas’ help “I have no choice in these circumstances to say no, unless is this one of those I need a lawyer moments?” He uses his mind to let Laya know Stay and if asked to leave from this lady stay near the door. The static white noise and unusual confident persona from this Detective Brigs kept him on edge. He needs to play tight lipped before determining all the events that have occurred. There must be some sort medical oddity for physic powers to become normal around him. Before he got off work earlier there was no sign or any scientific acceptance of such powers except in those tarot card physic mediums. Who to him were hacks.
"No, it's not quite that serious. You have no obligation to answer me, if you don't want to. We're just trying to get some clear details on some things. You both work as hospital staff and my understanding is you were the one who pulled the alarm. Anything you say could be useful in understanding why you felt the need to do it." "Felt the need?" Do they think it was some kind of prank? I guess, "Someone tried setting me on fire with her mind" doesn't really work well. Laya's own thoughts could still be heard clearly. It wasn't that his telepathy wasn't working anymore. It really was this woman. She was doing...something. It was possible she wasn't even aware of it. Her expression remained genuinely puzzled and curious, but not in anyway actually hostile or aggressive, even as she turned to Laya. "Dr.Mason. I'd like to ask you a few questions too, if you aren't busy. It's okay to tell me no, if you aren't feeling up for it. Today looks like it was really stressful." "You're here, already. It would be easier if I just told you now, wouldn't it?" Laya spoke without thinking, and Briggs flashed a smile. "That would be incredibly helpful. Could you wait outside while we talk?" The question on the surface, was polite enough, but it still made Laya hesitate, exchanging a look with the other doctor, uncertain of the best way to respond. "Sorry, I need to be monitoring the situation at all times." Dr.Cho understood that this was just true enough, but not completely accurate from the way his co-worker had said it. Still the alleged detective woman didn't seem at all phase by it. "I understand. This isn't too much of an issue anyway, that it matters a whole lot really." "Dr.Cho. If you could, please recite your entire day. Everything you did, no matter how small." Reaching into her coat pocket, the static inducing woman had pulled out a small black pocket book and clicked a pen, waiting for him to start. "Again...if you aren't feeling up for it, this doesn't have to be today."
Alexandra nods. "I'd suggest talking to the cop. We'd jut have to be careful what we said. We don't want to get locked in a mental asylum, or expose ourselves and get assassinated for it."
"Right...we should think hard on that. Even these actual experienced psychics just barely get what's happening, trying to explain this to someone would be..." Laya trailed off, apparently in deep focus about other events at the moment, before paying attention to what was going on in Alexandra's apartment again. "But, I don't know how much help they're going to be, especially if they don't have abilities like ours. If they don't, there's no way they're going to believe it and if they are, they're probably answering to that creepy machine thing like it's the bible." While she wasn't subtle about vocalizing her distaste to it and the feeling of discomfort rose, Laya did reach for her phone again and placed it on the table. "...but...if it really does give you answers, would using it be so bad?...they never said how you get it to message you when you actually want it. You'd think if it was truly all knowing, it would just do that it's own...." Laya shook her head, looking and sounding more confident with tone, but the curve to adjusting to all of this in a single day was incredibly steep. "What do you think? If it tries to send messages, do we ignore them? That thing really weirds me out...but, it definitely does know...stuff. From what I got from what they said, it's only ever helpful...but if it's going to end up telling us to go shoot up a hospital or something, it can't seriously be making that good of decisions...can it?"
"We need to be wary of it, but as long as it doesn't give us bad advice, we should consider what it says." Another nugget floats into her mouth.
'Well, the thing did tell me to confront the two of them, and it worked out for now,' Jack said, 'so its advice isn't that bad I think. If you are lucky and can figure out what it's trying to say.'
“So, along with the police, we’re going to try using this too...now...” Laya left her phone on the table, peering at it with intent. Nothing. Given how eerie it came across, it wouldn’t be unreasonable to assume it would give some kind of instant reaction to when people agreed to make use of it...but the phone just remained silent on the table, unmoved from any vibrations, and lifeless. “Does it just go one way?...no, I doubt that. There’s some kind of trick to it.”
Alexandra grabs her phone from her bedroom. "I don't think that those were regular texts that we were receiving, so we probably can't just call the number. Maybe..." She lifts the phone with telekinesis, thinking that use of her powers might activate it.
