I’ve seen it.” Abel was still relaxed, paying no mind to the black haired woman looking in his direction who had started to climb from her table, her hand digging into her pocket to reach for something.

Both of the bartenders remained entirely uninterested in her slow advance, Adel actually smiling a slight bit to Jack. “The radio in my car doesn’t work anymore. Think it’s divine retribution?”

“You! I’m gonna-“ The young girl had made her way to the group, starting to pull a object from her coat, the shine of something metal already making it obvious what...and then in a flash, it was just gone, leaving her mouth hanging wide open, the gun resting on the counter beside Abel, who couldn’t even be bothered to look up.

“Can’t play with you today, Felica. I got tables to-“

“I’ll kill you!” She didn’t care how loud she was, pulling a pocket knife from her other pocket, and making a dash to reach over the counter. Adel didn’t stop her and Abel didn’t bother to just teleport it away. Actually giving her some attention for a few seconds, the knife fell to the floor behind clattering...then he went right back to just ignoring her.

“Cut it out.”

 

Jack chuckled, smiling back at Adel, 'Driving without music? It's a fate worse than death.'

Jack was startled as he turned to see the girl they called Felica attack them with a gun and then a knive. 'No, don't do it!' For some reason he felt he had to stop her. In the heat of the moment, his eyes and hands got a blue glow and the water and ice cubes from Laya's glass shot out and doused Felica's face and cleavage, one ice cube landing between her breasts. He just sat there for a moment, gawking and not believing what had happened, 'D-Did I do that?'

 

Alexandra just watches the spectacle. "Errr, why did you throw water at her chest, Jack?"

 

'What? No, I didn't! I never even touched the glass, I swear!' Jack protested his innocence, 'I wanted to stop her from attacking... then that happened by itself.'

 

Alexandra grins. "Rigggghht. And I'm sure that the fact that her nipples are now poking through that top like flagpoles has nothing to do with it."

 

The moment it happened. As soon as the cube flew right at to Felica, everything stopped. The twins had the situation clearly handled, not taking any of this seriously, but the sudden force from Jack made them actually look. Alexandra felt it. That doubt again if they were sure that was supposed to happen.

“Huh...was that...” The faint smile returned to Abel’s face. “Stress testing. That’s what the point was. Obviously, you can do more than just know when something will hit you....thanks, I think. Not like she was ever going to be a problem...but..”

“Aww, she’s so cute though!” Adel had intervened in the attempt of the stunned Felica to attack Jack, her forearm wrapped around the neck, keeping her held tightly with Adel holding a shit eating grin. This looked closer to them bullying a little sister than an actual murder attempt. “But...seriously...you can’t be picking fights with customers too.”

“I’ll-“ Felica struggled, her head darting in the direction of the gun. The pistol started to vibrate, shaking, then rising a few inches off the ground floating toward her...at such a slow speed, Abel didn’t even react to it until about sic whole seconds later just grabbing it. Felica was already breathing heavily, and flushed a lot like when Laya overexerted. It was apparent how weak her abilities were even compared to Jack and Alexandra who were still developing their skills.

“That perv-I’ll kill you all!” Her threats were drawing a small amount of attention only for Adel to simply laugh in her face, the first time, the red head had ever looked actually happy.

“Love you too...d’aww. I just want to take you home and keep you there.” Adel’s comments forced the murderous rage to end up being replaced with a pathetic humiliation of her trying vainly to salvage this.

“Let go!”

“Aw, but you’re just so adorable..” Adel pushed her face closer to the girl using her fingers to dig into Felica’s cheek forcing their eyes to meet while the goth struggled.

“Only if you give me a little kiss.” It was impossible to tell if the red head was being serious or not.

 

'I don't throw water at pretty girls just to see their nipples,' Jack protested, 'What kind of dude-bro pervert do you take me for?'

Jack watched the spectacle, kind of feeling sorry for the young woman, being bullied by Adel and ignored by Abel. He was a bit scared that for the first time Adel looked genuinely happy while playing with the younger girl... like a cat playing with a mouse. 'Sorry, really sorry. I didn't mean for that to happen. You can throw water on me too as revenge... C'mon, that's enough bullying, Adel.'

 

Alexandra touches his shoulder. "I'm just kidding. I know it was an accident."

She looks up at Adel. "Come on, let her go now. This is uncalled for." She enjoys a bit of teasing, but this kind of malicious bullying is distasteful to Alexandra.

 

Laya looked half interested, but piled the dirty look on telling her to stop along with her brother. Slowly, but surely her grip did let itself go, and unsurprisingly the first thing Felica attempted to do was hit Adel, but stopped herself the minute the red head raised her palm and a spark of flam began to well up, a warning of how easy it would be if she really wanted to.

“Well, since we’re all here...” Abel was trying to mind his own business, only really acting by pulling Felica’s arm as soon as she tried to sprint for the door. “Sit down. I just moped those floors and you’re just running around and-it’s rude, you know.”

The pulse of her rage was returning, but as well as that reluctant resignation that forced her to take an empty seat. “I’m going to-“

“Okay, sure. Anyway....” He paid more attention to the other three, Adel taking a place standing over the middle of Jack and Felica from behind, most likely still waiting for her to do something stupid. Abel reached for his phone.

“So...that’s Felica. She likes to try to pull this every other month or so. She’s part of the “bad guys” since I think that’s the easier way to put it for the rest of you.”

“We’re not-

“Mmm...yeah, you are.”

 

While everyone's attention is on Felica, Alexandra uses telekinesis to subtly pull the gun over to her. They might not want to harm her now, but they might in the future, and it could be useful to have something to defend herself with. If she gets it, she tuck it into the back of her waistband, and untucks the sweater over it to cover it.

"You say we're bad guys. Okay, what do we have to do to not be bad guys, then?"

 

None of them seemed to notice her take the gun over, apparently only assuming Felica was the immediate problem. He shook his head.

“Not you, Just her and her cult thing.”

 

Jack looked to Felica, 'You don't look like a bad girl... okay, maybe you do a little.' He blushed and chuckled shyly, 'But I don't think you are. Let me try...' He tried to concentrate, thinking of water, the water on her shirt. He didn't know how that new power he had discovered worked, but he tried to concentrate on getting the water out of her shirt and towards the bar sink.

 

"Ah, I see. Good."

 

“Because we aren’t-

“Still on about that?” Adel was quick to shut her down from whatever she was about to say and Jack’s movements toward Felica made the young girl fidget backwards for a second. “Where do you think-

When the moisture had began to dry itself, she calmed a little, everyone looking just as surprised as she was.

“...the fuck is with that? I thought you might have used telekinesis, but it’s different.” Adel was to the point with her question.

“Obviously, it’s an elemental thing, duh.” Abel made the idle comment that forced his sister to stare harder at Jack, baffled.

“You didn’t think that would be helpful when I tried to burn your ass before?”

 

Jack was as surprised as they were that it worked, looking to Adel behind him, 'I didn't know I could do this until... well, three minutes ago. I just felt some strange calmness around water... I didn't know I could control it.'

 

“...that’s weird.” Adel shut her eyes for a moment, trying to imagine it. Her pyrokinesis didn’t seem to react the same way to her element. Abel was thinking on it for a moment, then looked at Jack more seriously than usual.

“That’s probably why they wanted to keep you. So you could develop it. If sis, can use heat waves in the air to make fire...I bet it’s possible you could generate water too from the moisture...do you get how dangerous this really is?”

“Don’t try feeding them your crap!” Felica slammed her hand on the table, and all it resulted in was Abel looking more worried about potential scratches on the counter than her protests.

 

Jack smiled at Adel, 'Maybe you need to sit in front of a fireplace or bonfire to get the feeling? I don't know.'

'Is it really that dangerous?' Jack gulped, looking at Abel, 'Then again... Laya said I had symptoms of drowning when they brought me to the hospital.'

His head snapped to Felica, 'Crap? Do you know better than them, then?'

 

“Well...not in the sense of super villainy...but it could be used for that too, probably. But a power that basically allows someone to end droughts and grow food with enough training? Just think of what could be done with that.” While Abel reached his conclusions, Laya gave a nod. “Maybe it was trying to surface before then and couldn’t...so he’d have died anyway if he didn’t become aware of it?...that means Alexandra has an ability that’s super powerful too, doesn’t? Because she can read emotions?”

“Is that what she can do?” Apparently not having realized it before, he gave her a more serious expression too, like he was actually really taking the two seriously now. “I don’t think you realize the gold mine you’re sitting on.”

“They’re just trying to rope people in to their whole war.” Felica was adamant, but Adel was back to having that mocking look of adoration and Abel was actually trying not to laugh in her face. “You think if her people knew better, they could at least train their powers to be usable? You haven’t even been doing this for little more than a day and you’re already way stronger.”

 

'Oh, yeah, that would be useful,' Jack nodded, 'If our skills are so valuable, why not try to capture us instead of try to kill us?'

'War? What war?' Jack looked to Felica, concerned at her claim.
