"You want to let yourself get captured? I mean, he's not the type to rape and torture his captives, but that's still dangerous. Are you sure?"
"Intriguing. I suppose I lose the first round, so..." He removes his gloves. "Your turn to deal, I think."
DT-L30 unconciously uses the Force to enchance his physical abilities, his rage burning even more. "Fine." He growls, lunging towards Xarrina with his fist.
She's barely able to dodge out of the way in time, as his metal fist smashes through the wall. She nods. "Well done. Time for your training to begin."
DT-L30 wantex to follow up with another attack, but she was a means to an end. Especially if he wants to kill Kota. "About time." He growled, his fist still clenched.
Xarrina kisses him. "Let's start." DT spends the next month learning and expanding his power over the Force, by wiping out Xarrina's business rivals. He's learned to telekinetically lift objects as heavy as a super battle droid, and can project them with more power. He learns to infuse his artificial limbs with power, allowing him to move for brief periods so fast that he appears to the normal eye as a blur, as well as to be able to bound across large distances. His skill in melee combat improves, and he learns some of the intricacies of lightsaber combat, becoming proficient in every form, though especially form V and form VII. Attacking a Black Sun space station called The Wheel, until recently the headquarters of Prince Xizor, the organisation's leader, a bolt of frustration at an inability to hit a particularly troublesome bounty hunter erupts into lighting, shooting from the tips of his fingers, frying the man to death. Though it's a draining power, and so far he can only use enough to attack a single person, he can feel it becoming more dangerous as he practices it. Xarrina gives him free access to the weapons, alcohol, drugs and women that her organisation provides, if he wants any of them. One day, Xarrina takes him aboard her ship, headed for a planet she calls Korriban, the homeworld of something she calls the Sith. As the reddish surface becomes visible, DT hears noises in the back of the transport ship the two of them are using. He sees Xarrina, hand in his bag, fiddling with his comm link.
“I don’t think we have a choice. Our manpower is better spent on pressuring the Suns and making more high place friends..as well as making sure Sara is protected while she’s recovering.”
“We always mean to do that, don’t we? No worries. Everything works out after the first three or four hiccups.” She smiled more than she should have, making the last minute preparations to leave for the factory, first making contact with Telerayan along the way, having an inkling the blind woman would have some kind of input to offer.
DT-L30 took his training seriosly, bottling his emotions to prevent them from clouding his judgement. But the thought of ending Kota's life was more than enough to drive him, and fuel his rage to increase his power. Days turned into weeks, and weeks into a month. He knew he's gotten stronger, but was it enough? DT-L30 stuck to using his borrowed lightsaber, his anger causing him to focus on gaining strength. Ignoring the women, booze, and psychedelics. Then as Xarrina brought him to a planet called Korriban, it hit him. Recalling Fendrat and Attrana's chat on the station, he remembers what this planet used to be. He also warns Xarrina that this place may be the home base of the empire's upcoming enemy.
Unusually, the Miralukan doesn't seem to have any info to offer beyond what she's already been told. She's informed after an hour or so that the ship is repaired and ready for use.
The pair embark on a dangerous journey across the red sand of Korriban, holding out for days on end against what appear to be large batlike and spiderlike creatures. Traversing a cave, they even find a large predator who seemingly renders their connection to the Force useless when they're around it. Surviving the dangers, however, DT and Xarrina enter a crystal cave, the bright colours of the crystals contrasting with the brown rock, illuminating the place in beautiful glow. Inside, he feels his commlink beeping, when Xarrina has gone off to scout the path. He finds out what she's been hiding. Apparently Xarrina deleted a rapturous message from Tarrik, informing him that Loreley is alive, and back on Coruscant, intentionally leaving DT in the dark about his friend's survival for the past week. Xarrina returns. "I think I've found the right crystals to power your new lightsaber." For the moment, she's oblivious.
Without any real way to prepare, Dannan wasn’t thrilled herself for deciding to just let things happen and do what someone might call “winging it.”
DT-L30's journey so far had caused him to be a shadow of his former self. With only one goal in mind, he was a completely different man. His thrist for the power to kill Rahn Kota took priority over everything else. As their treacherous journey continued, DT-L30 overcame all obstacles in front of him. Until they finally reached their destination. Looking at his commlink beep, and realizing what Xarrina had done. A small part of him was relieved to hear his friend was still alive. But his desire for revenge had changed him, he knew they wouldn't be safe. Not until all of the empire's enemies were destroyed. He follows Xarrina deeper into the cave, "Why'd you do it?" He asked in a gruff tone.
The trip doesn't take too long, though Danann is able to catch up on some sleep. Apart from her, Ikki, Tekki and a Nautolan pilot she hasn't met are aboard. Soon, they exit hyperspace and see the planet Hypori below them.
Understanding almost immediately, Xarrina shrugs. "Why do you think? Your hate for Kota made you strong. When you heard that the girl died, that hatred multiplied exponentially. Letting you find out that she was alive would have harmed your progress. I am trying to train you, after all." They enter a large chamber, absolutely filled with crystals. "Pick the one that calls loudest to you. Remember that the crystal is alive, and destined for you, so use your feelings, not your logic, to guide you." DT feels himself gravitate towards four crystals. The first is entirely regular. From what he's been told, DT knows that this kind of crystal will produce a powerful single blade. The second crystal is larger, both ends tapering to a fine point. He realises that these crystals make double bladed lightsabers. The final two seem unremarkable alone, but when viewed together complement each other masterfully, perfectly symmetrical. DT has been told that matching smaller crystals like this create shorter blades, finely crafter to be used as a pair. All of them call to the death trooper, but one of the options is loudest, seeming to fit him perfectly.
During the trip to the planet, Dananan strikes up conversation with the Trandoshan’s again. Mostly discussing the events of the previous mission until she accidentally brought up Sara and reminded herself about it. She then politely excused herself and left the conversation. The planet was coming into view and she still hadn’t spoken to her mystery guest abroad the ship. “I don’t think we ever met. Do you fly our ships often? I still haven’t had a chance to properly meet everybody other than a handful of our people.”
"Do you really think I'd waver from hearing some good news?" DT-L30 growled, but remains unfazed mostly as he focused on the crystal calling onto him. The twin crystals called to him, reminding him of his two close friends that he failed to protect. DT-L30 moves toward them, "These." He spoke his eyes captivated by the crystals that called to him.
The man looks up. "Huh? Oh, I've been working for the Consortium for a few years. I used to be on Cyrus's crew, before I started running a spice ship. He said he wanted someone he trusted to ferry you around."
The crystals glimmer and shine, the light of the other ones reflecting a rainbow onto the stones DT has chosen. He feels them calling out to him, and as he touched them, has a bizarre experience. In a moment, much of the pain, anger, resentment and guilt that has been plaguing him disappears. He feels the emotions flowing, almost physically, into the crystals, leaving him feeling strangely purified. Lifting his hands away from the glimmering twin crystals, DT sees that they now shine a deep red. After a few moment, the negative emotions return, but they aren't as strong anymore, or as debilitating. Killing Kota is still his main drive, but it no longer overpowers all his other drives. He feels guilt, but no longer has pangs of self-hate as he sees his reflection in the crystals. "See why I did it, now? C'mon." Xarrina leads him through a hall carved into the crystal chamber. Atop a flight of stairs there is an pedestal, coming up to waist height, carved out of red rock. Xarrina drops a bag down on it, and he sees bits of various metals and materials. "Use these to assemble your lightsaber. If you're ready, it will come naturally. The design should be yours. Don't worry about anything else, make it how you want it to look."
