'Who the hell is Sadek?' Jack looked confused. He shrugged at Laya, 'Maybe one psychic power is that you are anti-psychic? Like a... psychic vacuum or something?'

Laya has the same confused look that they do. "It doesn't really sound like anything...but if it's foreign, maybe it just doesn't translate right? Or it's just a pronunciation thing ? Like...if these groups have been around for a while, maybe they didn't start in our hemisphere at all?"

She voiced her thoughts while she placed some toast down on plates and pondered. Her conjecture did give Alexandra a theory. If it was a variant of another name that people were just getting wrong, then there was something that sounded like it could be it. Sadek was very close to sounding like Sadiq which was a proper name, that translated into meaning "Justice." That sounded much more in line with from how Felica made her group out to be.

Another thought hit her though, the logic seemed a bit strained. If she wanted to go out on a limb and stretch things out further, Sadiq was a alternate name for Tzadik. Judaic culture used that title to refer to figures that they called masters of the spiritual and righteous. Most likely the name got adopted by this apparent psychic gang later, but it did have a strong association to mysticism...it wasn't exactly hard evidence of anything and there definitely wasn't an ancient conspiracy behind it, but the cultural implications had to suggest that the group was most likely Middle Eastern in origin, though members like Felica who were overseas didn't share the culture. Odds were they were left adhering to a bare bones structure of the original rules, but it suggested the heads of the Brotherhood were either from or heavily culture influenced by those parts of the world, even if the younger members were not. How true this could be or was though, was difficult to say.

Laya was left thinking about Jack's question too as she set plates down on the table. "Maybe...but last time I saw her the questions she asked were good enough for a normal investigation, but pretty much all the wrong ones for a psychic investigation. If there is an ability like that, she's either good at playing dumb or doesn't know she's doing it...that would make sense. If you never met other psychics, how you even test that?...but I bet even if she doesn't know about powers, then she still knows something we don't. Seems like everyone does.."

 

@unisol_gr44 Alexandra relates what she's theorised, stating that Sadek likely refers to a group that's Middle Eastern in origin, and most likely refers to Felica's group. "I have to go to work today, but afterwards, I'll give Felica a call and see if I can set up a meeting for us with her boss."

 

Jack listened to her explanation, 'Alright, we might want to meet this Medius of the Union too at some point.'
The teen nodded, 'I'll have to check in at home too.'

 

"Yes. Though I think we should go to each together. Safety in numbers, you know?" She eats her toast quickly, before doing her morning routine. She showers, brushes her teeth, applies makeup and dresses in lacy white underwear with stockings under a white turtleneck and grey pencil skirt.

Approaching Jack, she asks "How do I look?"

 

'Like you're going to turn every student's head today, Alexandra,' Jack smiled and looked her up and down, 'You look stunning.'

 

The teacher kisses him, and then asks Laya "Would you mind dropping me off at the school? I don't have a car."

 

Jack kissed her back, suppressing the urge to grope her, not wanting to ruffle her skirt. He smiled shyly, 'What a pleasant morning.'

Laya watches the two kiss, curious, but unsure whether or not to comment. Alexandra can feel the change in energy. While Laya is usually even worse than either of them...she seems completely uninterested in the display. That doesn't stop her from staring harder at either of them than she should. Whatever the case, she simply nods and grabs her keys.

"Yeah, sure. The school should be on my way back to work anyway...not to belittle patient care or anything but....I really feel like I deserve a day off." Despite her protests theirs a slight smile on her face, rethinking it. "Well...it's not a complete loss. I got to bump off one of the people on my top ten list last night, so there's that." Concluding her thoughts, she took a look at Jack. "Um...any idea where you want to go...or are you staying here now?"

 

'Oh, don't worry about me, I know the subway by heart,' Jack chuckled, 'I'll find my way home.'

 

"Say hi to your mom and sister from me." She grabs her schoolbooks, stationary, laptop, and lesson plans.

Alexandra follows Laya downstairs to the garage, getting in the car when the doctor unlocks it.

With Laya actually being in the condition to drive her own car for once, she took the front seat, taking a few minutes to play with her mirrors and seat settings, and twice as long to check herself out in the mirror. After Alexandra had all her belongings in and put on her seat belt, they drove off in silence. After coming to a traffic light and waiting for it to turn green, the doctor decided to break the silence a little bit. "..seems weird to say it, since it's only been like one day....but after everything, I feel like we're friends now, or at least could be. A little weird part of my mind kind of hopes something crazy happens so there's an excuse that we don't have to part ways for good just yet."

The entire trip to get home was shockingly uneventful and Jack arrives home without issue.

 

Jack went inside his home and called out as he went into the living room, 'Mom, Sis, hello. I'm back.' His mom was probably already off to work already, but his sister might be around, as she was on spring break.

 

Alexandra nods vigorously. "I know. I feel the same way. If you want, you're welcome to stay over at my place. I don't know, maybe our powers have bonded us together, and it makes us all more receptive to each other. That would explain why I was so eager to do the dirty with a former student, and why he was so willing to let me."

 

“Jack? Hey!” The exclamation of surprise and excitement was made by his sister, whose plans to pull him into a death gripping hug were forewarned by Jack’s danger sense. It lasted for about ten seconds, before the attitude he was more familiar with had started to show. “Fucking asshole! The hospital called and then when mom tried to visit you, the police were all there and-you’re just trying to get out of your turn of doing the dishes.”

He didn’t need Alexandria’s power to know she was happy to see him, just expressing it in her own way as a sibling.

 

“Wait. So you think it’s dormant as some kind of gene in perverts? Giving sexual deviants superpowers?..that sounds bad. I don’t know if that’s it. Probably naturally drawn together, sure. I even like Abel and Adel more than I should, though I’m still scared of them. When they’re not killing people, they don’t really seem all that mean. Well...Adel is...not really “bad”..just kind of...a bitch. Abel doesn’t seem to care about much, but he’s obviously super close with his sister They’re actually closer than I am with my own sister..like almost weird levels. Hey...you don’t think they’re...ew, no. Dfawn together by psychic forces or not..that’s...Forget it. Dumb question.” Trying to change the subject to avoid thinking on the implications she tried to think of something else as the light changed and the drive resumed.

“I didn’t get a chance to really talk to Felica other than what they said about her. It might be too early to say, but we haven’t seen any brotherhood other than her and we aren’t even the ones they care about killing.”

 

Alexandra laughs and shakes her head. "No, I just think that the three of us might be bonded in some way, and that's what draws us together. There are a few cultures that believe in psychic bonds, after all. I honestly can't say whether Abel and Adel are together. They're a strange pair. I didn't really get to talk in depth with Felica about her group. If I'm right, we'll find out more when I call her to ask about the message we got earlier."

 

'Hey, Heather,' Jack said, 'Yeah, sorry about that. I ran into my old teacher from High School in the hospital, Ms McKinney. We kind of left together after the whole commotion at the hospital.'
'Nothing... weird happened at home lately?' Jack asked, 'How are you doing? Boyfriend—what's his name? Tommy? Tony?—alright?' It was probably a bit strange that Jack was so concerned and interest about his sister's life and well-being. They normally just let the other live their life unmolested unless there was something that concerned them both.

 

"Strange pair." sounds like just about everyone. I don't know how important Felica is or isn't too her group, but I'm pretty sure she knows more than we do, yeah. Though that's still not saying much. Every time I feel like this is starting to make more sense, it's something else." The conversation came to a lull as Laya pulled up across the street from the school, the clock in her car showing Alexandra that she was already running a little late, but Laya stopping her before she got out to write down her number on a scrap of paper.

"I'm not sure how much help I can really be, but I don't want to just leave either of you to deal with all of this on your own."

 

"Thanks. We need to stick together. I think the three of us are connected, somehow." She gives Laya her number. "Could you give that to Jack, as well, and trade numbers with him, too?" She grabs her things and heads to her first class.
