"Then, I just need to get some things ready." They would need proper food, gear and all that. Not to mention, she still planned on taking a few of the books she still hadn't finished reading. Maps, tools, camping supplies. All the tools that someone needs for long travel. Not to mention a few books on Polish law and culture. Knowing the customs of another country just felt like good sense to be aware of those things before they got there. It took a little bit longer than she liked to ready all the basic supplies for people and begin planning out a route of travel along with her father, but eventually they managed to get everything they'd need and she amassed her siblings to the stables to get them geared up so they could be off to foreign lands.
Both siblings were annoyed by their father's joke, but were wise enough not to show it. “Poland, huh... Is there anything we should know about the lands you have inherited, father? If not, we should probably start preparing for the trip – the sooner we can get there the sooner we will be able to send back news.” Benacio commented. “Yes, let us not delay unnecessarily.” Ophelia agreed with her brother. Neither of them had been to Poland before, so she was curious what they would find there.
Mszczuj steped closer to wounded man, judge his wounds. It doesn't looking good. "Did anyone here have some medic expirence? Healing magic would be helpfull too." He said and bend the knee near wounded knight and grab his hand. "We don't have priest right now here, so I would advise to you tell all your sins, from last days. For egzample, who give you orders?"
Ilya and Olga look a little confused as to why they're going, and their father tells them a white lie, not mentioning Mongols or the Horde. Three armed men sit on the main wagon, led by Kuril, a boyar's son in her father's service.
"Schweine Polieren." His voice comes out as a whisper. A woman's voice sounds out, and the young man sees Eva, a druid in Boleslaw's retinue. "I can save him. Perhaps."
"Nice to meet you, Angelo." The men seem gruff, but friendly. "The inquisitor wants to inspect the monks we're taking with us, so be at the front gate in an hour."
Mszczuj sigh bite his mustache. "See how you answer for polite request. No civilization." He turn around to Eva and smile to her. "It would helpfull if you could Eva. I have few question for him, what his soldiers probably don't know answers." He stand up and make room for druid. "Don't feel bad if he die. We will simply find another way if it will be necessary. "
'Well met, I'll be there,' Angelo told him and turned away again. The next hour, the young monk said his goodbyes to his fellow Brothers and made ready to leave. At the alloted time, he waited at the front gate.
Larisa spoke to her brother and sister, mostly trying to think of a viable excuse before deigning it was better to just not really say anything about it. Olga looked more enthusiastic to just be able to go anywhere, at least. Ilya was a little bit more concerned sulking, not being used to any kind of change. That wasn't new behavior for them and they'd get over it. She decided to speak to Kuril a little bit. While she knew his name and they had met a few times, they just never really could think of much to say to each other. Polite enough to the other, but just without anything to ever really talk about. "Ever been outside of Russia before?"
She smiles back. She kneels beside the Teuton leader, who tries to choke her with what remains of his strength. She snaps her fingers, and his mail gloes go red with heat, the rings partially melting, and he lets out a blood curdling scream, backing away. After that, he lets her do her work. One of the men says "Fucking heathen woman" under his breath.
Mszczuj put hand on Eva shoulder. "I know how they act, but try not burn his tounge okey?" He asked and look at tied prisoners. "For you, I would suggest thinking about your family and brothers, who would paid ransom for you. So be quiet." He said calmy and roll his mustache on finger.
A number of his brothers wait beside him, before a dark haired woman arrives, clad in the rich red robes of an inquisitor of the catholic church. She walks down the line of monks. "No." She walks to the next monk. "No." The next. "No." She faces Angelo and stares at him for a long moment, before nodding. "This one." She looks to her men. "Let's go." She waves a hand to indicate that Angelo should board her carriage.
He nods. "A few times, here and there." As usual, he briefly glances at her body, but averts his eyes before it can be considered rude. "I fought as a mercenary a little while ago, in Savoy. It's alright. Not as cold as it is here, and less space between villages."
Eva nods. "Just his hands." She begins healing his wound. The Teuton grimaces at the indignity of being healed by a non christian, as he stares daggers at Mszczuj. "What... What you want to know, schweine?" Boleslaw stands away, looking at the exchange with interest.
Angelo was feeling apprehensive, as the Inquisitor went down the line and dismissed one monk after the other. He had feared she would do the same as she passed him. His eyes met hers for a long moment, before she chose him. His heart missed a beat and relief came over him. The young monk nodded and followed her gesture to board the carriage.
Mszczuj ignored his insule and lean by end of his sword. "Everything. But wait, no your childhood story isn't necessary. I'm not also intrested in name of your lover or whores with you sleeping." He said smiling. "No, I would like to know who give you orders to raid on our lands and why he breaking peace betheen Kingdom of Poland and Teutonian Order?"
Inside the carriage, Angelo sees the landscape pass by him, and he soon realises that they've gone further than he could see from the windows of the monastery. The inquisitor sits across from him, drinking from a skin of wine. Taking a gulp, she offers him the skin. "Ever been to the lands of the baltic?"
She did catch him giving her a few odd looks here and there, though didn't say much about it. While she wouldn't argue that she wasn't a huge nerd, she wasn't really an awkward one. For the most part, she was mostly confident in everything. Asocial by choice, not because of a lack of ability. But she still never really saw herself as anything interesting to look at, and it brought out that more awkward virgin nerd personality of her's, that people expected her to be like, not fully able to make direct eye contact with him. It didn't help that he wasn't a bad looking guy ether. She never really thought much about him, but she did notice. She just nodded to his comment about the weather, unable to make much more than idle conversation. "I think I'll miss it, but I'd be lying if I said I'd miss the cold."
He laughs, before wincing at the pain. "Peace? There's no peace between us schweine. Your king is a pagan, so you are all pagans. Besides, you raid our villages first. We here as..." He searches for the word. "Retaliation."
