Morwenna shakes her head. "It's on my tab, don't worry." The redhead laughs at her comment. "Who says I'm a virgin? I wasn't always a priest."
She finds two of her sisters drinking tea. Adriana, the younger, looks at Ophelia with disdain, but Adela, the oldest of her siblings, smiles warmly at her.
Rhaelicca grins, but shakes her head anyway. "Celibate - Virginia. They have the same definition in my head. Either way, its a pity that your God is so strict."
'The virtuous lose their minds?' Angelo repeated, 'I will have to take your word for it, I can only imagine what horrors an Inquisitor battles. I suppose a little indulgence isn't too bad when faced with something like that, as long as it's in moderation.'
The travel slowly began to get a move on as Larisa debated how exactly to follow it. He didn't seem too worried or concerned about it. Not thrilled by it, but not seeming strictly against it either. This was about the longest conversation they actually had with each other and the general agreement they had was that it was useful in the sense to not die and that was fine enough. "That's helpful to know. I don't have plans to just use it for any reason that comes, but it's certainly better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it." Getting things gathered up, they had to begin their navigation through the rest of the forest area, after looting the corpses of the bandits for whatever they were carrying that looked worth anything. Ironic and almost distasteful, but Larisa saw no reason to let practical things go to waste either. After picking through them, they could be on their way again.
"Oh, thank Christ." She giggles. "Good looking and intelligent? No wonder they keep you in a monastery. The girls would go crazy for you."
Ophelia pretended not to notice Adriana's look of disdain as she greeted her sisters. “A pleasant evening, is it not? Would you mind if I keep you company for a bit?” She asked them politely while looking at Adela. (Yeah, I couldn't think of the exact words to use for a greeting, so I just skipped that part.)
'Oh, I don't know about that,' Angelo blushed at the compliment and chuckled a bit, 'Go crazy for me? I think they'd be better off sane.'
Kuril nods. One of the men, a little frightened, hands Larisa a purse filled with 50 silver pieces. "Your share", Kuril explains.
A Adriana opens her mouth, but Adela beats her to the punch. "We'd love that. We don't see enough of each other these days. I hear your off to the East?"
She takes the money putting it away. Not a lot, but the added bonus wouldn't hurt anything if she needed it later. She noticed the general fear and uneasiness from the other troop, but it couldn't be helped. They'd come around eventually. There was little that could be done about it now. At the very least the money they took from themselves might help. Most soldiers stuck in the army and the sort explicitly for the pay that came from loot and plunder. "We should start moving. The longer we stay put, the more of a target we are."
"Humble, too. Nice." She lies back. "I like you, monk. I've decided you can stay in the carriage. Unless you prefer to walk."
Kuril nods, spurring the horses to go faster. After fending off questions from Ilya and Olga about the bandit incident, things start to normalise, and they make good time. After a week or so, as they make camp for the night, Kuril tells her that they've crossed into the land of the Lithuanians.
A lighthearted pearly laugh erupts from Rhaelicca. "I guess its true. It dinnae matter whether yer Scottish or not. You catholic girls need to get laid more often. I was simply paying you a compliment miss." She relaxes back into her seat and looks across the table at her kinslady. "If I was to flirt with ya, I'd say that your hair looks like a orchard of autumn leaves and your smile could lighten even the darkest moods. Now that would be a flirt."
Angelo chuckled. 'Thank you, it's nice to know that I'm not too off-putting despite my reclused upbringing. You are pleasant company as well. I promise I won't overstay my welcome.'
“We really don't, sadly.” Ophelia agreed as she took a seat at the table and smiled at her sisters. “Yes, apparently father inherited some lands there and someone needs to survey them. Looks like Benacio and I are the lucky ones – or unlucky ones, judging by the map of the region... but we'll manage.” She reassured her sister. “How are the two of you doing? Anything interesting happen to you lately?” She asked as she looked first at Adela, then at Adriana, and then at Adela again.
On the one hand, she was glad they were making progress. On the other, the longer they had to travel the crankier people would get. Things were mostly fine for now, and things had started to become not too awkward with the rest without her needing to use her magic. She had been mostly pouring over maps and marking their location as she sat next to the fire.
"Oh, yes? And say if I wanted hear some more flirting? For scholarly reasons, obviously. What would you say next?" Her grin widens.
She nods. "For my part, I'm surprised that you can stand being around me. I realise that I'm somewhat grating and standoffish."
