The armour seems to fit well on his frame. He sees the beautiful noblewoman who lead him to Allune's father yesterday, walking across the courtyard. She doesn't seem to pay him any attention, but Mszczuj notices that she subtly drops a piece of paper on the ground as she struts towards the keep.
"All right, everyone. Mount horses! We attack!" The dozen or so inquisitors begin to get on horses, as the man Angelo helped thanks him profusely and goes to find his own mount. Angelo notices a mount brought for him, as barrels are placed in the carriage he travelled in with Marguerite to reach the Baltic. The succubus disappears into one of the few standing tents, coming out in full armour, and tossing a shirt of mail to the monk. The stern looking woman with the war hammer approaches Angelo. "First time in a battle, huh?"
Mszczuj make moves like he made for body build, and in one of moves, he catch piece of paper and read it.
"His Grace wishes to speak with you about the matter of the incident which occurred on the road, in which Sir Darius was imprisoned."
Angelo let the mail shirt fall over his torso and fastened his mace over it, before he turned to the other inquisitor and nodded, 'Yes and I barely know how to swing this metal club.'
The note is written in beautiful handwriting, and is quite short. "Sir Darius intends to escape, if he can not get Lord Svitrigaila to pardon him. Be wary of the dungeons and sewers."
She laughs. "You'd better stay at the back of our formation." Her blonde companion walks up beside her. "Here." He hands Angelo a long knife. "It's a seaxe. If you lose your mace, stab 'em with it. Remember, the balls, neck and armpits are the weak points of mail."
Mszczuj smile and call Andrzej to look around for servers and way inside to dungeons. "If he try to escape again, I will kill him for good." He said to himself
The knights begin to assemble timber ladders, when a horseman bolts through the village, dodging knights who try to grab his reins or shoot him down. He shouts out. "The gates! Open the gates!"
"He does?" Allune asked in a confused tone, "My father has already went to speak with him about that. No, better yet. I'd like to ask, where did they take Lukas?"
Andrzej returns after several minutes. "Sir, I've found it." He noticeably stinks. "There's a grate down in the sewers, beneath the guard quarters next to the dungeon. It's inaccessible from our side, but I believe it could be moved on theirs. If I was going to try and escape this place, that's where I'd go. We also heard the voices of some guards whispering. I think some of them are with Darius, and some of them have no idea what's going to happen."
Normally Ophelia would have tried to examine the knight and try tofigure out who he might be, but under the circumstances there was no time for that. “Open the gates and let him in. But be ready to close them right away if the enemies try to follow him inside.” She said to the nearby guards.
"Your father has been told that his lordship is currently indisposed. He's in discussion with Svitrigaila's steward, trying to negotiate young Lukas' release, if I'm not mistaken." He grins. "As for the young heir himself, Lukas has been taken into custody, until the truth of the matter is revealed. He's in the dungeons, in the cell next to his uncle's, I believe." He holds up a hand. "Worry not, both of them are quite confined, and unable to reach one another with anything besides words."
The palisade slams shut a moment after the horseman enters the castle, nearly impaling a horseman in pursuit. The guards point their weapons at the newcomer, a reasonably young man. "My lady!" He shouts from the courtyard, not being allowed any closer to the top of the walls. "I come from the camp of the Inquisition." He holds up a flag of the Benedictine Order. "We were attacked, but managed to survive. We are planning a counterattack, before the enemy learn that their own attack was a failure. We ask that when we launch our assault, you sally out of the castle to join us."
"What?" Allune was shocked to hear where Lukas was. "Fine, take me to your lord." She growled, and follows behind the the bearded man. While walking behing him, Allune hides her dagger inside her clothes, just in case they tried anything.
Ophelia looked at the young man in silence for a moment before deciding to go down and speak to him – shouting at him from a distance, while safer, would also make it easier, if unlikely, for any enemies to hear them. “Tell me, how many of you survived the enemy attack? And what is your plan for the counterattack? If we are to help you we need to know what you intend to do so that we can attack and coordinate more effectively.” Ophelia asked the man once she was down to the ground. Leaving the castle to attack the enemy was risky, but attacking the enemies from two sides seemed like their best bet right now. Especially since the attackers would likely not expect another attack so soon after losing their cannons. Hopefully getting assaulted from two directions would cause some confusion among the enemy forces and make the battle easier.
Mszczuj pac Andrzej on shoulder. " Good work. Keept eye on everything here, I will go to keept it watch. Cezary and Dobron come with me. "He said and go in dicretion of smell.
He opens a door, leading to a large chamber. Inside sits a handsome, long haired man in fine clothing. He looks young, perhaps in his twenties. "Ah, you must be Allune, are you not?" He gestures for the bearded man to leave, who does so wordlessly. "I am, as you probably guessed, the king's brother."
The Inquisitors begin to ride, taking up a wedge formation with their horses. The carriage trails along in the middle of the column, the riders avoiding it. "About 20 of us are left, my lady. We have warhorses, and weapons, as well as black powder. We have seen that the enemy are cutting wood to make ladders, so we will attack while they are disorganised. We shall use the black powder, loaded on a carriage, to cause an explosion. Then, we charge with our horses."
