Red haired samurai? Kind of makes me think of one of custom oc characters for my non lewd writing, who also bears an uncanny resemblance to Kenshin. Spoiler
Looks good to me so far, but just one clarification: Is she part of the ruling family? She has the family name, but it says she has no relation to the patriarch.
Oh right, I thought everyone was going to have the same last name. Anyway, no she'll have no relation to the patriarch. But her family's clan will have been absorbed into the Yokuboo though. Guess I'll remove the last name later.
Portrait: Name: Jurobei Yokuboo Gender: Male Age: 62 Appearance: Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual Personality/History: Jurobei Yokuboo took over the clan in an age of 20. After two years, dissatisfied with the constant interference of his mother's clan into politics, he attacked and almost completely exterminated Rai clan, including his own mother. He spared few females of Rai clan, had a curse placed on them so their line could only give birth to daughters and used them as breeders. From their children, he created a new kunoichi clan, conditioned and trained to be tools for Yokuboo clan. At 45, obeying the call of his liege, he aided Aya clan in the fight against Emperor’s forces. As Shogunate general, he gained renown and respect of fellow lords. Due to the plot of Shogun’s wife, he was forced to relinquish his position. Some say that it was his lack of leadership and skill, that resulted in a fast fall of Shogunate forces. Jurobei swore vengeance on the Shogun's wife for that slight. Five years later, seeing as the faction in his clan was preparing to rebel, he set a trap on them, luring them into a conviction that they could easily win. With all of his enemies in the clan uncovered, Jurobei purged the 'old blood' faction and their allies, leaving a complete control of a faction in his hands. Jurobei is a pragmatic man - he will stop at nothing to achieve his purpose. To ensure his clan's superiority, he slaughtered Rai clan - without a care for any blood relations. To ensure his renown, he fought for the shogunate. To keep his clan consolidated, he eradicated the 'old blood' faction. A ruthless leader, sadist, cunning diplomat - he will use every tool in his arsenal, to get what he wants - the survival of his clan, and it's high position in court. He had many wives and concubines, who gave him numerous children... but he is yet to appoint an official heir. To this point, none of his children, showed talent to lead the clan. Occupation: Clan leader, Lord Yokuboo Relation to the Patriarch: - Forbidden: diapers, scat... Skills: Tactics 2 Politics 2 Leadership 1 Stats: Wealth 1 Prestige 1 Army size 1 Army training 1
Does that make your character head of the clan then? I didn't know that was an option. I mean...not that I would, just didn't thtink we could have any high ranking positions from what I understood is all. Also...kind of makes things iffy in a intrigue game if one of the factions is player controlled because then any action against them just comes across as personal. And I mean...it's already kind of "Look how evil this guy is!" so it's not totally attractive of a prospect of working under him unquestioned. It'll probably work out though.
I think my character could be daughter of Rai clan and one of her motivation could be to take off curse of her bloodline so she serve as best as she could.
I mean it's a non issue for me really since I don't really want leadership roles that badly. It's just not exactly appealing of working under Jureobei specifically as a character since he seems like he'll pull "you outlived your usefulness" and it's jut not too attractive to me the idea of actively helping him get the power to be a even bigger asshole even if I'm technically supposed to.
That sounds a lot better to me. Or marginally better anyway. Individually I kind of just him dead as soon as possible....but I don't think the fox would go out of her way to accelerate that. But don't really think she'd try all that hard to say no if something happens.
Oh... Hmm, depending on how peaceful the transition of power is, Chitsukiko can hopefully avoid being forced to choose between her disgraced father or her mentor. See my character being uncharacteristically flustered and uncertain in their interactions if she ever found out. A spirit that has been supporting the clan for so many generations. Does she want sacrifices? One of the rabbits I hunted perhaps? What's the proper way of address? ...Will she allow me to touch her fluffy tail for good luck?
Should be good. Not sure about stats of clan leader: Stats: Wealth 1 Prestige 1 Also, maybe later I will create some of his other children and alive concubines... maybe a wive whom he married to secure alliance with other clan?
I made my character is daughter of Rai with your character if you don't mind. And yes, It is good idea for young wife with other clan. Old guy with young woman.
It's possible that he may not actually be as well respected as he thinks he is and it's not all that uncommon for even major figures to be in debt, so it could make sense hypothetically. Like...it's possible that he actually owes a lot of money to a rival clan or is in debt to foreigners supplying the clan with weapons and medicine. Something like that.
The Shogun is one of the weaker power players (currently) and her fortunes likely translate to our characters' clan's. Trade not going through our ports as much as they might with Lord Minami using his influence to divert it through his allies, for instance. And with his treatment of both the Rai clan and the 'old guard', I could easily see nearby lords having some private unease when interacting with him. Although it can probably bear being bumped up a few points, depending on how much use those stats and he is intended to see before his death.
