    Current info about our character:

    Name: Freya
Appearance: Red hair, freckles, green eyes, little shorter than average height, C-cup breasts, slim figure.
    Family: ??? (In Discussion...)
    Abilities: ??? (Coming Soon! [Hopefully.])

On to my proposal/topic for discussion:
I think Freya needs a last name, and possibly middle names as well: what do you guys say to: "Freya Nordhall" or "Freya Hilde Reidun Nordhall"?

Yes I know Family names are a fairly recent practice in most of the world, but consider 'Julius Caesar', 'Fa Mulan', 'Judas Iscariot', and so forth: this city has existed for over 1000 years and has a class of hereditary nobility, I think family names coming into use is not unreasonable: besides which the 'era' of the game is supposed to be late medieval, by which time most of Europe had adopted the practice and the name 'Freya' is of European origin. The family name "Nordhall" is a 'place name' which translates out of the Scandinavian Languages as 'From a Hall to the North', suitably non-specific for a pair of spies while equally plausible as an actual name for a real family if moonblack does not chose to go with the whole 'Parents are Spies' angle.

The middle names I suggested are culled from a list of the most popular women's names in Norway, 'Hilde' means 'Noble' or 'Battle Maid' and is of Germanic origin originally, while 'Reidun' is purely Norwegian and means 'Lovely in the Nest'. (Freya of course means 'Lady' and is a derivative of Freyja, Norse goddess of Love, War, and Beauty, who is Odin's wife, but that is already settled on.)

Moonblack, what civilizations is this world closest too? While I'm good with Freya for a first name, I feel last name should be a little more representative to the society. If this is a more Norse group, then Nordhall would work for s surname. If it is more like Britain then perhaps something like "Carver" or "Thatcher." Or we can go completely fantasy realm and just throw out something unheard of like Valren.

(Simon, the part about her being Odin's wife is actually up for debate. Some feel Frigg and Freya were the same while many still don't.)

I'll be honest: I suck at coming up with decent names. I don't mind giving her a family name, I just couldn't come up with anything suitable. But Valren sounds good, so I might go with that, if there are no objections.

As for the world, I'd say "completely fantasy realm" - no need to limit ourselves by basing it on real-life cultures.

Gonna have to disagree with this at least a little moonblack, I have yet to see anyone do a believable fantasy world that was not based, at least in part, on some IRL culture or mix of cultures.

Sorry for not informing everyone sooner, but I have reached crunch time on moving out of my current living situation and finding somewhere new to reside. I thought I would have this weekend to keep up with this game before I had to drop off the face of the web for a month or three but I accidentally left my computer at my ex's place, and wont be able to get it back until tonight, I am borrowing a friends machine to post this. I will of course try to post during my period of not having reliable internet and housing, but I am not too sanguine about my chances of pulling that off. Hopefully I will be able to jump back in when I have a new place and internet again, but until then I hope you find a new 3rd person.
