A take on strategy/RPG game. An adaptation of my story - Army Customizer. The idea is as follows: Each player creates a character of his/hers Avatar whom she/he possesses. Then, the player can create (according to certain rules) his own followers - an army that follows his orders. He can choose statistics, picture, etc. As the game progresses, the player would earn money to be able to buy more, stronger units and heroic units. Since it's chyoa, the 'units' would require periodic sex. The setting would be fantasy - which allows player the most area to create followers, But it could also be Sci-fi (f.e star wars.) or Wild west. The target of the player would be to act as mercenary, vassal, or create his own domain. That is how it would look like in the core. What do you think?
Maybe. I’s have to see more before I know what I want to do. Naturally I assume the avatar has to kick lots of ass, but how strong are they or their armies? Also kind of depends how resource heavy it will end up being.
Well, it depends on how you would create an avatar. Balanced, but little stronger than a veteran, a powerhouse but sucking at leadership, a great leader that buffs his followers but sucks in combat. At the begging - the player could start with a couple of dozens of purely armed peasants or small group of well-trained knights - I would create a table where one could allocate skills, abilities and equipment and count the cost of the unit. What do you mean by resources?
I remember Army Cutromizer, though it has been a while since I last read it. Still, I am interested how this would work and am willing to give it a try.
Like gold, army size, food, terrain, buildings, weapons...whatever else. Some stuff is inevitable so people don't have just a billion troops or so automatically.
I was thinking about using a requisition system... with some buildings, units providing upkeep. Weapons would be included in the creation of followers - like armour. Production of units - depending on the setting. Fantasy/wild-west - buildings, camps (as mobile bases). Sci-fi, - buildings, ships, factories.
Tell me, which settting would you prefer - fantasy (I would start with that, preferably - it would allow greatest freedom in creation), sci-fi (second - but would allow more developed ), wild-west, or something else (like Naruto, Star Wars, Ancient Troy)?
Fantasy tends to be my preference. Just thinking that if it's a schizo tech thing, then units would have to be buffed/debuffed to make it roughly balanced which might be complicated. There could still potentially be more higher end units that are more rare with high grade things. As for canon universes, I don't actually follow tons of anime. Not really too big on most canon things in general, but there's a few things. I followed dragon ball z since I was little, which does have a good bit of sci fi/space alien stuff, but the show isn't for everyone. Admittedly, I'd be lying if I said it wasn't kind of stupid, but it's still a show I grew up with and loved. Dragon Ball Super is....okay. Only okay. And that's being kind of generous. I do like One Piece, from the parts I remember, so an AU around pirates competing for pirate king might be a thing(But it's been so much stuff over the years, I'm far from caught up on it and don't really want to watch 900+ episodes.) Never really got into Naruto. Didn't even like a lot of the character designs for it to begin with(Tsunade and Ino which is rare, but that's about it.) Obviously, I know pokemon and stuff like pretty much anyone my age would. Haven't played Y or Moon though, so not exactly caught up on everything though I did play Shield which was...fine? Kind of boring, but I can honestly deal with boring rather than like say, Digimon Hacker's where the plot is so stupid, cliched and bad it just makes me made for playing. Shield was boring though because it's just so much fucking nothing. I thought the same about Three Houses, actually. Which going into that, I do know Fire Emblem, but I'm not for Three Houses which is just as cliched as any other fire emblem game, but given a lot of praise just for being super edgy even though it's the same anime cliches of "Evil dragon mind controls bad guy. Mysterious past amenisa character with no memories. Chosen one. Blah blah blah." and three houses is just "Byleth's personality is that they have no personality! How clever!" which pisses me off pretty bad. Just lampshading the thing that people hate then still doing it, doesn't make you better. It makes you worse, in fact, since you know it's a thing people don't like and just do it anyway without doing anything different. I dunno...just felt like a massive stepback in progression for Fire Emblem. There's probably other than canons, but I can't list everything I ever played off the top of my head. I do like Dynsaty Warriors though and Zelda potentially could do a while invading armies at war kind of thing. Shin Megami Tensei/Persona could also possibly do something like that. So like canon things...yeah, I'm not against doing some kind of au war thing, though there's not a lot of ones I know the lore of off hand(I probably do, for a good number of things, but again, can't really list every game I ever played. Or hey, if you just did something similar to smash bros, you could just basically cram whatever universes and stuff you wanted, hypothetically. But I'm not for every canon universe that exists either and generally don't like them that often, but I'm open to them anyway.
