She sees a long line of women, and joins it. Kina notes that though most of the women are far younger, she's probably the best looking woman there. Catching bits of conversation, she learns that the women are there for diverse reasons. Some are trying to escape poverty, while others have been sent by their noble families to curry favour, some are trying to rise up and gain power, and some just like the idea of a life of luxury. As the line is slowly processed, Kina finds herself in front of an immensely fat eunuch, who looks her up and down. "Name."
"Bitch." Kyouka growls as she drops the paper. Taking the matchlock, she figured it was a good enough find to sell, or to equip her soon to he army.
'The black widow and the snake,' Jian said, 'Your family is an enigma. Do you have another sister that could be likened to a scorpion?'
"No. My other sister is an ice mage. Though, she's also an exhibitionist, so." Kyouka shrugged, "Among my siblings, Oichi's the only one that was really fond of poison."
"Yei." She answered shortly. There was no reason to use her name - it could only create problems when discovered later.
'An ice mage?' Jian looked very interested, 'Maybe you would introduce us some day? I probably could learn a thing or two from her. Or is she another sibling to be avoided at all costs?'
"Not unless you're a prude." Kyouka shrugs, "Still, I don't really know where she is. Though, if you do see her. You'll know it's her, due to her state of undress."
Jian had to chuckle, 'That bad, is it? Well, I would not have a problem with that as long as she is comfortable with it. But no matter, if you do not know her whereabouts it is a moot point anyway.' @Tjf He turned to Chitsukiko, 'Thanks for covering my bum, dearest cousin. I knew I could count on you.'
He writes it down. "Well, Yei, you'll have to go through several tests meant for younger women, if you wish to become a concubine. Do you think you can handle it?"
@Tjf "Please. She'd probably force you to strip for her first lesson. What was it she says, hmm. I think it was, "Clothing hinders the ability to accurately feel the temperature." Or some crap like that." Kyouka replied, before looking at the one-eyed ronin. "So, I think it's about time we go?"
She walks up behind, slapping his ass with a grin. "Any time, after all, it does belong to me." She looks to the ronin. "Shall we get back on the road?" The woman nods. "Let's get moving." "Alright, all aboard." She gets back into the carriage. After a few hours of peaceful travel, the group ends up ascending a mountain road, the path growing steeper and more dangerous as time goes on, until finally they reach their destination. "There's a military outpost out front to keep the creatures inside the ruins from escaping, but once we enter the mountain, we're on our own. They won't rescue us. Are you guys ready to go?"
Jian left the carriage and looked around the scenery, before looked to Chitsukiko a moment, giving her a nod. He turned to the Ronin, 'We are ready.'
"Yeah, let's get to raiding." Kyouka cooes, "Oh, anyone know how to use a musket?" She said as she holds out the second gun, which she got from the slain bandit.
The ronin heads out of the carriage, walking to the military outpost. After talking with the ashigaru for a few moments, she waves them over. Chisukiko looks distastefully at the weapon. "I have no need for a blunt instrument like that."
"Good enough. I'll loan it to your for the duration of our quest." She said with a grin, as she gives Jian the rifle. As they walked inside the gate, Kyouka shrugs. "It's not really a blunt weapon... when it's loaded anyway."
Jian took the musket, strapping the musket ball case and powder flask to his hip, 'I will try to give it back to you in one piece.' He approached the outpost with the others, joining the Ronin again.
"Indeed. Enter." For the next few hours, Kira is tested in many ways. Firstly, she must do a written exam, then an oral exam to prove that she's both pleasant to talk to, and intelligent enough to have a worthwhile conversation with. Clan Rai operatives are trained in both areas, so neither is too much of a problem. She's made to do physical exercise to prove she can keep herself in shape and possibly defend herself and her master. Again, not a problem, but quickly she finds herself growing bored, even the iron determination of a slave waning. Finally, she gets to the good part, led into a room after her bath. There, a young man awaits, in his early twenties. "Good day, madam. For this assignment, you'll be required to prove that you can please me sexually. Please, begin." He sits on a cushion, awaiting for her to start.
Chitsukiko blushes a little. "You know what I mean!" The ronin waits in front of the outpost, before leading her inside. There, she transfers their supplies from the carriage to several packs, handing each member of the part one. "Well, our sorcerer was meant to be here already. Not sure what's keeping her, but whatever. Let's go."
