Seriously!? I have to type this up again!? Ugh... Precisely your own thoughts! No worries, I promise not to take it as rude. Also, the feeling is mutual . I can certainly appreciate your objections. I can only offer suggestions around the predicament. With Valerie, Gina could possibly operate on a "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" sort of deal. Gina suspects that Kano Tomioka and his entire organization are corrupt and she wants to expose them. While Valerie is a part of that organization in the beginning their goals slightly align. They both want Kano Tomioka out of the picture. Once that's done they can go to war with each other. With Tom it's a bit different. He's supposed to be more a victim of circumstance than anything. Richard Highcrest is the real villain and once Gina starts to suspect him she could view Tom, again, as a means to an end. It's not so much that she's helping Tom achieve his goals it's that she's trying to get Tom to help her achieve hers. To expose the Highcrest family. Now neither of these things are ways you have to go, as you said yourself: play your character the way you want to play them. I'm just trying to think of options.
@majus would it be fine if I redistribute a point from Small Arms into Acrobatics, neither of them have featured yet. May have spent a bit too much time watching Gymnastic videos that I'm probably more excited having the character spinning around while shooting people rather the latter being the main focus. They're an all around impressive group of sports.
Please change the picture to drawing. Except that, it looks mostly OK. But you will have to decide on one character - can't play all of them. We will of something, should you decide on that character. Investigation is ok. Your choice - but will you take pleasure in playing Tom? He sounds like a difficult character to lead... Sure, you can change it.
Done. Yes. I know. Changed. Right now I feel like I could play either character. I envision Tom's story being more about him reclaiming his humanity; or at least trying to. Whereas Valerie is about becoming an underworld Queenpin. As such Tom seems like a more active character as he is actually taking part in events. Valerie on the other hand is more of a director and doesn't get involved in the nitty-gritty unless we can find a way to force her into such a situation. As it is I'm interested in what the other players think about both characters, which one would they like to see me play or more importantly which one they think their characters would have an easier time interacting with. I know @Auraicide has voiced their concerns, but I wouldn't mind input from others.
Think I'd personally prefer to see Valerie moving around the city. She has more independence and stronger personal motivations than Tom who is deeply tied into his adoptive family as a pawn. He feels more restrictive, while if you worry about Valerie acting on a smaller scale then I think 'If you want a thing done well, do it yourself.' is a useful maxim. Can see Eva, my character, working alongside either, though the particulars of the relationship will likely be different.
Mmm-hmm. Mmm-hmm. I see what you're saying. Valerie does seem to have the potential to get herself into more lewd scenarios more easily than Tom would. And it would let @majus control the killer-cyborg providing a formidable obstacle to any character @majus wants... I too am now leaning towards Valerie. @Tjf @unisol_gr44 any opinions?
Honestly, my adhd is already setting in hard with the whole reporter angle, so I might retcon it to a sexy detective like I had planned originally. I still want to do the milf cyborg angle and everything. I'm just thinking reporter might have been the wrong job. But I guess that would be up to @Tjf s opinion if he minds and that it could or should be changed or not. Still doing the cyborg milf thing, I mean. Which is kind of the biggest reason to do this game in the first place for me. Just with a different job essentially. A lot of details can stay largely the same actually, just changing the job and maybe the character look to the old one I had for a police girl Spoiler Spoiler: Other options
Tom and my character might clash if the police gets called in on some enforcement mission Tom is completing. I don't really see a problem with Valerie, since Alexey is far too low on the police ladder to deal with criminal higher-ups like her. From my perspective, Valerie seems a bit more interesting. @Auraicide Journalist and PI work is pretty similar, so I don't think it would be much of stretch to switch.
Name: Taylor Casteel Occupation: Detective First Option for looks: History: The only thing more dangerous than being a cop, is being an honest cop. Sexy mother with children or no, the gangs aren’t interested in her life other than she makes them miserable and refuses to play ball or take bribes. Something of a local community hero, but also a target the gangs really want out of their lives. Sometimes the process of collecting evidence is real slow going though. Sometimes you need to take a crack at a few computers to get good intel. But it’s all for a better purpose of cleaning up the streets and putting these assholes away for good. While she’s as manly as any other guy or girl on the force, she has a very cool and casual attitude, that she shows off that makes her liked by locals considering her to maybe be the one not trigger happy or power tripping cop left in the area, criminal scum really believe they can’t think of a way to get rid of her soon enough. Due to her former role serving in the tactical division, she's been outfitted with custom made cybernetics to make her a top tier detective. Family and family status: Jack Casteel(Son) Jace Casteel(Husband): No real thoughts for him right now. Spoiler: June Casteel(Sister) Works a decent office job in the corporate sector. Fairly well off and attractive, she jumps from boyfriend to boyfriend, never holding onto them for too long. Single, but looking. She doesn't feel desperate however, and is mostly happy with her freedom other than it conflicts with her urge to settle down and start a family soon while she's still young enough. A good natured person, but isn't shy about getting what she wants. The business sector also pays well enough she can afford some high end cybernetics like her sister as well. (Possibly debating adding a daughter) Friends and Enemies: Spoiler: Page Friends since they were young and having remained friends since they both got married and settled families down of their own, they consider each other practically family. Spoiler: (Friend/Rookie Partner): Lukas Kroemer German descended youth assigned as a partner to Taylor. Works hard to be a good partner, but is inexperienced and prone to mistakes. He mostly works by a casual, but sociable attitude and tries to get by on natural looks though this isn't always effective(Or in Taylor's case, at all.) Every now and then, he comes up with a genuinely good idea and Taylor recognizes this, but more often than not a lot of his ideas fall flat due to his lack of ability to focus or think things through. It's pretty common that he's a source of frustration for Taylor, but still one that's with her rather than against her. Enemies: Nathan Byrne: Career actor she busted on drug possession charges and was convicted of intent to traffic. His reputation has been badly damaged, leaving him forced to take any work that pays. Spoiler: (Enemy: Kam Un Ju) "Enemies" in a sense. Both serious cops about doing the right thing and have a rivalry of wanting to be the one bringing down the big guys. It never really went past the point of trying to annoy the other or find some way to keep them occupied from getting out there, but they don't really want to see the other actually gone, just not in the spotlight. Depending on the day, this ranges from being in a friendly competition to almost outright hostility if they feel like the other is getting too far ahead in "points." Problems and Advantages: (To be added) Skills: Athletics Firearms Computers Hand to Hand 2 Spoiler: Cybernetics Sensory Eyes: Records things, picks up heat signatures, can be utilized as cameras and take video, they're incredibly practically to have for investigation. Mechanical Arm(Right): Durable without being obvious on first glance and capable of lifting things that she'd struggle with human muscles to do normally, it also incorporates a few general tools as well as a knife for emergencies, though it's intended to be used mostly as a tool rather than a weapon. Optimized cardiovascular system: Makes it much harder for her to become exhausted or wear out like a normal person would, though it's still possible, generally as a unconscious part of her brain. She can run for almost hours on end and doesn't struggle with oxygen(Though she still can't survive the pressure of something like space.) She can still end up with sore muscles and needs to sleep like anyone else. The system can be adjusted to make her suffer a normal person's exhaustion, but she has no reason to ever adjust it to do that herself. Neural Brain Implant: Allows her to retrieve information quickly and fast, as well as upload things like her recordings to the internet. Being able to remember a lot of stuff that she otherwise wouldn't and access the online world on a moment's notice as needed. Alloyed Skeleton: Much of her skeletal structure is replaced with a mix of machinery that makes her bones and body much more solid than a normal person. This makes her capable of withstanding much more punishment than a normal person would be capable of surviving. However, her biological tissue can still be damaged as easily as a regular person and she isn't really eager on going out of her way to see how much she can actually take. Spoiler: Cyber Illness Sex toy fascination A interest in filming or recording her more overt actions while they happen. Loves attention to her (Still real) breasts. Perhaps both because of her her high end body, she's developed a fascination with what goes against that, in vulgar looking guys to the point of having an weird attraction to the idea of things like vagrants and homeless men trying to defile her upscale body. Seems to have developed an interest with wearing underwear and lingerie to show off her still natural and good body parts. Equipment: Cash - 120,000(Savings) Flat Forbidden(Always subject to change, so I can't say. I'll just put the stuff I definitely won't do.): Gore, Death, Vore, Scat, Feet, Vomit. Also worth noting, while I like my characters being treated like shit, I'm not crazy about having my character subject other people to being treated like shit. I’m not expressly interested in playing her as corrupt or being evil for the sake of being evil either or helping characters do stuff similar to that. So that's where I am so far.
Yes. Sorry, if that confuses thing a bit. It’s largely the same background other than the job being different with all the family related characters remaining the same Edit: Also did you see unisol’s character concept buried a few posts back?
You want to change the story, or continue this line? And, oh - indeed I missed it. @unisol_gr44 Sorry - missed your post. generally looks good - but "Police skills" are too wide of a concept. please narrow it down.
Hmm. I'm unsure. I don't want to make more work for you, though might be awkward to just start with a new character in the same scene. Up to you whichever you feel like. Still unsure of what look to go with.
@Tjf Since Auracide changes the character, will you be keeping yours - with Jack's history, or changing it?
