"First, I was not the governor then. Second, we had a chance to win then. Carthaginians with their navy would cut off all Roman forces from the mainland. At that time, it was a logical thing to do." She said as her eyes moved from woman's face to her chest, then back. "Now, we need a victory, to end the war on our own terms." Anai explained.
"A triumph?" He chuckles at her double meaning. "I'm not worthy of such an honour. As far what happens after I, gods willing, am successful, I haven't given it much thought." That's a blatant lie, he's been preparing his campaign to run for consul for years, but it would be considered arrogant to outright state that he's planning to obtain high office, at least in front of strangers. "I'll leave the politics of Rome alone until I return." If the senator's wife has any sense, she knows that that's not true, but in Roman high society it's expected that you rarely tell the blunt truth.
"Maybe that was the case back then, but who's to say they'll give up now?" The assassin doesn't remove her eyes from Anai's.
"Now, now, general, no need to be so modest." Woman chuckled. "General, I am afraid, that thinking about your future when you return Rome, might be too late. You should strike the iron while it's hot... otherwise, your enemies in Rome, will make choice for you." she finished seriously.
"If that is true, then we are done for. And nothing we shall try to do will save us." Anai answered, holding the woman's gaze.
Pesca acts as though he's conceding to her point. "I suppose you may be right..." He sighs. "What do you propose, then, ma'am?"
The assassin is silent for many moments, before she opens her mouth. "If I let you go... I know you've got some way out of the city, you must have. I want safe passage if the city falls."
"Sister, are you sure that this man-" The blond man started, irritated, only to stop seeing his sister's raised hand. "Dear general is playing simpleton, brother. He simply has no reason to trust us." The woman smiled. "What I can offer, is the support of my husband and a few of his colleagues... and knloedge. Depending, on what you pan, of course." She said as she raised the glass.
Pesca has to suppress a smirk at the brother's idiocy. Not only is he unable to understand basic social cues, he has an overly high opinion of himself. Some noble halfwit who the woman's husband gave some minor power to, to appease his wife, I'd bet. He only has status because of who his sister married, but he's still arrogant nonetheless. Pesca hides all of his disdain for the blonde man, as he speaks to the woman, since she's clearly the one with authority. "Support would be good, of course, but how exactly do I know that you won't use the knowledge against me, rather than for me? I have no way of knowing that you're on my side." He shrugs. "That said, I suppose there's no point in hiding the obvious. I'm a praetor now, and the rank above is consul. It won't be to anyone's surprise if I run for that office, then."
She reluctantly nods her head. "Yes. But how do I know you'll keep your word, if I let you go?" The blade is no longer touching Anai's neck, andthe governor feels pins and needles run through her body as some small level of movement returns.
"Ah, a man of ambition, I see." The woman smiled and she raised a glass in salute. "Not betraying you... you know how politics works. As long as our interests are similar, we will work together. We are interested in raiding your fame. You are one of the candidates who are yet not aligned with the political faction - that shows us a promise. As of proof of working in your interest..." She paused. "I can offer information about a plot that is brewing in your camp, made by your enemies in Rome. Will that suffice?"
"You can't be certain - but I value skilled subordinates." Anai said as the control of her body returned to her. She turned to face the woman and put her hands on her shoulders. "Submissive subordinates." She said as she started pushing the straps of the woman's dress to the sides, making the dress slide down her body.
Aulus stepped closer to the general's and governor's daughter. She was quite cute too he had to admit. As he stepped closer to Taia, it was evident that while he had a youthful face, his muscles were very well built, like those of a soldier. He bowed before her, before he spoke quietly, so the guard wouldn't hear exactly, 'It is General Quintus Valerius Pesca who seeks your favour and sends me to you.'
A brief widening of her eyes is the only expression of surprise that escapes the young woman's visage, as she continues to roam his body with her gaze. "I see... Since you don't have a blade in your hand, I suppose you have an offer, then?"
The assassin gulps, but doesn't resist as Anai undresses her, the tables turned thoroughly now that she's been offered a way out of the doomed city. Anai gets a good look at her new subordinate.
'No, I'm not here to kill you, the general... your father wishes to meet you on neutral ground to discuss a deal with you,' Aulus said. He relayed any information Pesca gave him to tell Taia.
Nubian, that is bad. They are faster runners know in the world. "Amazon, we must punish traitors who find hidding in these mansion." Ivyari prepared three arrows, if siblings attack, first arrow will attack face of big guy, secend his foot, and last in his hand with weapon.
Anai slowly, still under the influence of poison, traced her finger along woman's breast. "Entire thing sounded quite personal to you, explain." She paused. "And tell me your name." She ordered, as her hand moved between woman's tights.
