Maat moaned as Aulus started groping her, his hands sinking into her flesh. "Spy, schemer, lover." Maat said with a hot voice and slight slur. He could feel her nipples hardening in his hands. She gave his length a squeeze, making something run down his spine, and then up. She chuckled as she gave the head of his dick a soft flip. "Hmm, that would be a... conundrum, wouldn't it?" She asked, he could feel her hot breath on his skin.
Aulus kissed her once more, he wanted to feel more of her. His hands leaving her breasts as he pulled her in and pressed their chests together. Roaming lower, he grabbed a handful of her bum, loving the feeling of he pliable rear in his palms. He broke the kiss and looked at her, 'Maybe we should meet again, somewhere more private. Will the general give you a tent for yourself?'
"Hmm~" Maat moaned lightly, as Aulus gripped her bum. "Who knows, what good general has in mind, and what his plans are? He might have us to do something more... or he can just allow us to finally get some rest." Maat said as she, in turn, gave Aulus's butt a squeeze.
Pesca nods, unsurprised. "Indeed. And the others?" He presses for more information, and politely begs his leave if he doesn't get much else.
"Perhaps. I have no one on the priestess, I must confess, so I have no idea." She shrugs when Anai asks for details. "Nothing exciting, mother. I just left an asp near the door, ready for the first intruder. Whoever enters first will wish he hadn't, but the rest should be fine." "I wanted to send a message: You cannot move against our family without a price being paid." She explains.
{Hashiyum - difficult name to remember } "Oh my daughter, so reliable." Anai smiled as she caressed her cheek. "Now, I want you to deal with the priest and his men. While I will go and pay a visit to the priestess." She smiled as she called her guards. "Make sure that the remnants of attackers are dealt with... oh, if possible, take prisoners." Anai smiled as she waved at Hashiyum. "Take her, she will aid you and serve as a guide. If she does well, allow her parents to leave the city through one of the undiscovered secret tunnels - but not our main one. Blindfolded." She added as an afterthought.
"So far? I will keep Flavia in the dark about what you have told me, at least for now." Pesca stands. "I have a military report to attend to, as well as some chores around the camp."
"It will be done, mother." Taia nods, beckoning Hashiyum to follow, the woman flushing in embarassment as she put her clothes back on. The two women exit, leaving Anai alone once more.
"I see. I hope you know what you are doing, general." Claudia nods. "Understandable. I will not take your time further, then, general. I will have the list delivered to you at shorts time, possible." She nods to him. @unisol_gr44 As Quintus returns to his tent, he finds that the man he sent to the city, returned with the Nane's traitor, and are already waiting inside.
Anai calls her personal guard and has her retinue prepared. With armed bodyguards, she quickly moves through the city, to the corrupt priestess' villa. She allows her people to quietly dispatch the guards, as she quietly makes her way to the woman.
@unisol_gr44 "Ahem..." Agorix coughs loudly to announce the general's arrival, and give Aulus and Maat a moment to fix their appearance. A short time later, General Pesca passes through the tent flap, looking at them and giving Aulus a crisp salute. "Soldier. Your report?"
At the villa, Anai's men clash with the elite Jackal guard of the temple, tall and powerful men clad in helmets depicting the god Anubis. They fight well, but Anai notes that there are less there than she expected, and she's able to enter the villa without too many casualties. Finally, one of Anai's officers declares the building to be clear of enemies, and guides the woman inside. There, in front of a large shrine, she sees a woman tending to wounded jackal warriors, looking confused at the presence of the governor. To her annoyance, Anai notes that the woman is not the high priestess, but merely her top acolyte, a young woman with an elaborate headpiece resembling her patron god, Anubis. "M-Ma'am? What is the meaning of this? Why have you attacked us? What happened to the high priestess?" She asks, while trying to bandage a stab wound inflicted on one of the temple warriors. The head of Anai's guards declares that the head priestess has not yet been located, though several underground escape routes have been discovered and are being explored.
"Continue the search, send a detachment to the temple she works in." Anai nods to the guard. She then turned to face the priestess. "The high priestess and High priest just send assassins to governor's villa." Anai says as she looks at downed warriors. "I don't blame you for the faults of your leaders, but the threat that they present to the city - I will end it." She says harshly. Then she turned to the priestess. "Do you know, where that woman went?" She asked, carefully observing the woman. She wondered if the high priestess wasn't hiding somewhere inside the complex.
The woman gulps nervously at Anai's words. "She-She did? I..." She takes a breath and collects herself. "A messenger from the high priest came, perhaps an hour ago. He gave the high priestess some news, away from our ears. I know not what he said, but it made her furiously angry." The acolyte, whose name Anai recalls as being something like...Neferet... continues. "She left the house, taking half the guard with her. I'm not sure where she went after that. I doubted her when she said that all was normal, but I never expected treason..." Neferet trails off, and Anai judges that the woman is either truthful, or an excellent liar, because Anai's keen eyes can detect no hint of deceit, though she's very nervous. Thinking to herself, Anai saw about ten men guarding this villa, meaning that if Neferet speaks truly, the high priestess has about ten men with her.
Anai frowned. Was she wrong? Was the High Priestess indeed innocent. Has she charged against the high priest? No. It would be against all her previous actions so far... Questions... yet no answers. Well, she doubted she would find answers here. She narrowed her eyes as she looked at the priestess and tried to remember everything she could about her. "Which direction she went?" She asked then paused. "What is your name?"
"Neferet, my lady." She inclines her head. "I believe they headed towards the city center, though where specifically, I don't know." Neferet thinks, or at least pretends to think. "I recieved a messenger from the temple just before you came, about some rudimentary repairs. He didn't mention seeing the high priestess, but he did say that there were some strange men going inside. He and the workers were told not to bother them."
Anai nodded. "Then I guess that is our next stop." She said as she ordered her bodyguards to prepare to move out. She looked at the woman. "You all, stay here. Unless you want my men to mistake you for the rebels." She ordered, leaving a token of guards - just to be safe - and went to the temple complex.
Aulus stepped back from Maat and adjusted himself. 'General,' Aulus saluted Pesca, 'I met with your daughter and she gave me this to hand to you.' The young Roman gave the golden band to tge general. Aulus continued, 'There's a lot of in-fighting going on right now. The high priest made a move against Anai and another pair of nobles tried something as well. Taia seemed receptive to a meeting with you, sir.'
"Your guide was helpful, I trust?" He looks to Maat, before he looks back to Aulus. "Well done, soldier. That's useful information to know. You kept your head in a damgerous situation. I'm impressed." The general puts a hand on Aulus' shoulder, appreciatively. "There'll be more for you to do soon, but you've earned a rest. The tent is yours for tonight. I'm sure it'll be more pleasant than your usual one. I'll lend you a slave to see to any needs you have." He gestures to the firepit. "If you're hungry or thirsty, just ask her to make use of that. I'll see to it she gives you the good stuff." Pesca salutes Aulus again. "Dismissed." He turns and walks away, looking for a moment like he intends to speak to Maat, but signalling that they'll speak later, before leaving.
