Pesca looks up at his slave, studying her quietly. "Sit." He commands, voice lacking any of the warmth or affection he projects naturally with their daughter. "I hear Aphrodite visited you, a little earlier."
Anai sits on the throne and looks over the people that were brought. She looks for the closest family members to the High priest and High Priestess. High Priest and High Priestes, have raised in rebellion. They send assassins to the governor's palace, and when that failed, they robbed the temple and escaped. What do you have to say? - is what she planned to say, But first, she nodded to Taia, to make her report.
Ouei shuddered, hearing Quintu's commanding voice. She quickly got on her knees, with her forearms grabbed behind her back. There was a collar around her neck. The first, standing confidently, is a young warrior, the high priestess' son from before she joined the clergy. On the other side of the room stands two young women, some of the high priest's bastards, the first working amidst the houses of healing, and the second having joined the priesthood.
Anai sighted, knowing that they probably won't find the ringleaders of the attempted coup. "High Priest and High Priestess, have raised in rebellion. They send assassins to the governor's palace, assassinated a government official, and raised an armed attack on the palace itself. When that failed, they robbed the temple they swore to serve and escaped. You who are their families, what do you have to say?" She asked.
Oblivious to Pesca's anger, Ouei continued. "Indeed, my Master. It's only appropriate that disobedient slaves are disciplined." She smiled. "I had fucked her with strap-on, then had her tight between two poles and whipped. I have left her there but made sure that no one would use her. She is, after all, your property, master." The throng of people all begin protesting their innocence in a jumble of incomprehensible words, before Taia orders them to be quiet. The first of the high priest's daughters approaches the throne, bowing deeply. "Your grace. Neither I, nor my sister had anything to do in my father's scheme. He rarely involved us in his business. The sister goes to protest, but a guard silences her with his spear butt. The young man, son of the priestess, steps forward when Taia indicates. He shows little of the young woman's respect, crossing his arms as he speaks and idly admires the bodies of various women in the room, including Anai. Confidently, he states "My mother and that old prick would never work together on anything. They hated each other. Maybe I'd believe she'd betray you on her own, but she'd never do anything that would give the high priest more power. As for me, I've spent the past few weeks alternating between killing Romans, and going to brothels. I haven't talked to my mother in a while."
Pesca grits his teeth, and Ouei begins to notice that she may have made a mistake. "Sentry!" He waits for one of the men to enter the tent. "My daughter is being restrained out near the slave tent. Cut her down, and take her to the medicus. Inform him that she's to be looked after immaculately, and tell her that I'll be there to see her soon." As the soldier leaves, Pesca reaches out and grabs Ouei by the throat, squeezing tightly. "You whipped my daughter? You? What made you think you had the right?" There's a look off cold fury on his face.
Anai did not comment on the first's of the sisters comment. Instead turned to the other. "And you? What will you say?" She asked her. She turned to the boy when he spoke. "So you are saying, she did not work with High Priest, but would without a doubt alone." Anai hummed. "You are showing quite a disrespect, boy, and that kind of behaviours is only accepted with skill. Tell me, if I ordered you to capture your mother, which would most likely end with her execution, would you do it?"
Ouei choked, as Pesca started strangling her. Yet her training kicked in, and she still kept her hands behind her back. "I-I am responsible, f-for disciplining disobedient slaves-" She managed to say.
The woman recovers from the strike the guard landed on her, and stands tall to reply to Anai. "I say the same thing as my sister, lady. I haven't seen my father in months, not since he tried to make me suck him off while he was drunk, and I refused." There's a murmur of gossip in the room, but she ignores the courtiers talking. "Kill me if you must, but spare her." The two of them begin to argue, both trying to sacrifice themselves for the other's sake. The young warrior shrugs. "No, I'm not saying she would do that. I'm just saying that the high priest being involved makes it completely implausible that she was involved." He crosses his arms. "What is this? I say yes, and I'm disloyal for betraying my mother. I say no, and I'm a traitor against you. All I'll say, then, is that if you order my death today, you're going to lose a lot of men. I'm no traitor, but if you want me to bow and scrape to prove it, we might as well start this right now." The guards bristle, getting into combat poses, as Taia and Bostar both chuckle at the youthful bravado.
Anai looked at sisters slightly annoyed. "Do you both want to be made example of?" She asked her voice on the edge. She turned to Taia. "What's your take on those two?" She asked, trying to remember anything she could about the duo. Anai chuckled at the boy's reaction. "That kind of attitude... Well, I will have your story confirmed. If it's true, I am sure General Bostar will have use for you." She paused. "But I will give you a warning. Your mother is still missing - along with the high priest. Right now, she will be sought for interrogation. But it may change later."
Pesca keeps his hand at her throat, but no longer grips as tightly. "Understand me, and understand it well. Aphrodite is going to be free, the moment this campaign is finished. Before that, though, she's still to be treated as my free daughter, in all but name, understand? If she wants to order you, you obey as if her word is mine. If she wants to hurt you in return for what you did, you will let her, as though it was my hand striking you. Understand?" When she acknowledges his words, he lets go. Apparently she's the hard working 'speak your mind' type, which has irritated some of the higher ranking priests. She also has a gambling problem, and owes some serious debts. I don't know if those could be used as leverage for her to join the conspiracy, but maybe." The young man nods. "I understand, lady. I'll serve as needed, and understand that you need to bring my mother in. I just...She's not involved. I'm certain."

You know the type, powerless, but arrogant due to the noble titles, and overestimating their abilities. It wouldn't take long for me to dredge up their offences. With their poor character established, no one would dispute their culpability in the attempted coup." Looking at the group, she sees multiple women, some quite attractive.
