Retinue: Part of the "Women of the Holy Order, Religious Expansion", called WHOREs for short (millennia ago women attempted to "reclaim" the word, it didn't work and it still maintains its negative and derogatory connotations), retinue assigned to the Emperor's Court. Members of the retinue rotate out often given the nature of their service, unless "negotiations" are made for individuals to stay. Despite being a part of her sect for almost 20 years, this is Yannika's first assignment in the Imperial Court. The retinue typically number around 100 but Yannika doesn't know all the members assigned. She is familiar however with Mother Lynda the Canoness responsible for the current retinue.

Also at court is the Wulfkin family. Previously led by her father, since his recent retirement it's now led by her older brother. As she hasn't spoken with her family in twenty-years she's uncertain how welcome she is.

History: Born to the noble family Wulfkin, who are one of the three powerful families in the Lysceen Sector, Yannika made her debut in the Imperial Court twenty-years ago as a young and eligible maiden. After one season at court her family removed her and she wasn't heard of again for a year where it was revealed she'd joined the Holy Mother Church as a part of the Sapphire Hearth.

While the Sect of the Sapphire Hearth worships the whole pantheon (as the whole Church does) they hold particular reverence for the Goddess Jaya who is a domestic goddess of the home, family, and protection. Jaya is worshiped as an icon of ancient femininity. She takes care of the house and children while providing shelter to the weary. Jaya is also associated with being a sex and fertility goddess as she welcomes the tired into her home, the wounded into her arms, and the horny into her bed.

Her specific sect seeks to either maintain or expand the Church's influence, primarily through sex. The clergy send women (and men) to areas of interest to either convert or prevent corruption of local populations by trading sex for worship of their gods. Essentially, Yannika is a Church prostitute or a free use woman for the faithful. If a member of the faith display a religious symbol and/or recites a hymn, she's required to have sex with that person. It's one of the perks of being a part of the Church.

Although Yannika is one of her chapter's best disciples and she has requested to be assigned to the Imperial Court for more than a decade it is only with the untimely death of the previous Emperor that the church has deemed her posting there potentially beneficial.

Retinue/Planet/Army:
Samodiva - a large planet* located on an important trade route, it serves both as an important trade hub and as a place where people go to relax and have some fun. It has several space ports dedicated to trade, but it also has several large resorts, each located in a different biome (taking advantage of the planet's size). The planet is named after a mythical creature, but no one remembers the myth's details any more.

There's a local legend that any woman who rules Samodiva is blessed with good luck and favorable fortune. While any woman ruling the planet has been very successful, it is arguable whether this is due to the “blessing”, or whether the myth of the blessing is the result of all the successful female rulers.

*When I say “large planet”, think “bigger than Jupiter”

Personality/History:
The current leader of an old noble family that has been part of the Empire since the Empire's founding. Centuries ago they supported the then-Emperor in a war at a high cost to themselves, only for their ruler to go back on his word for his own benefit and not give them the rewards he had promised, instead choosing to be a greedy bastard and keep them for himself. The family quickly recovered and grew even stronger than it was before the war, but the broken oath was never forgotten or forgiven. Because of that Eanne is distrustful of the Imperial Family and her opinion of them can be summed up as “Fuck the Imperial Family – figuratively, and occasionally literally”. Still, she is a reasonable person and is willing to give the new Emperor a chance to prove himself before passing judgment on his (in)ability.

A prim and proper lady in public, Eanne can be quite the slut in private. She is very dominant in sex and likes being in control.

The Order of Jade Moon is a small, but fast-growing all-female Church order. It’s quite popular among the nobility and wealthy community members. Officially, the order educates women, with no future concepts to become advisors, healers, bodyguards and priestess for communities.

In the reality, the order moulds its new members' bodies and minds with a mix of technology, telepathy, biomancy and very hard training to make them beautiful, skilled in seduction, intelligent priestesses... brainwashed into fanatical loyalty to the head of the order.

The Order gathers as much influence on followers of the Order of Jade Moon as possible. When it’s impossible, the order ensures their control through a mixture of demagogy, physical pleasure, telepathy, blackmail and bribery.

In the palace, Elena has a retinue of hundred followers, working as her clerks and bodyguards. Unofficially, she has another hundred followers, acting as maids, cooks, soldiers - all acting as her spy network. Her order has also a very strong developed infrastructure in the capital - it's the greatest base of the order, through the Empire.

Personality/History:

Elena was born into nobility. Her marriage to another lesser noble Falko Feit, was arranged when she was early into her adulthood. That was when she first encountered Order of Jade Moon. Her the new husband became interested in it, and acquired Minna, one of a priestess of the Jade Moon order to his court.

It started innocently, healing procedure and massages. Then came passionate nights – first Elena’s husband sleeping with Minna, then said priestess seducing Elena, before all three of them ended up in one bed. Then came orgies, with prominent members of Falko’s court – including his own sister and mother. It all was hush-hush and discreet.

After ten years of marriage, Falko was murdered along with his entire family by bandits during the travel. Elena found herself his sole inheritor. She was genuinely saddened by the death of her husband… and her sister-in-law and mother-in-law.

A month later, Minna suggested joining the order and donating her entire wealth to the order. Elena refused, but the priestess said, that she just had to sleep with the concept. The next day she asked the question again. When Elena refused again, Minna presented her with evidence, that it was Elena who murdered her husband and her family. Physical evidence, video recordings of actions she had not remembered doing, testimonies of Falko’s couriers whom she thought loyal. With no choice left, Elena agreed to join the Order. She made an announcement she resigned from her position as noble, to join a convent.

After arriving at the training centre, Elena spend two weeks strapped to the chair with a mind-controlling device strapped to her head. As dildos moved in and out of her pussy and ass and one climax washed over her after the other, her mind was reshaped into that of a loyal agent of the Order. She was thought seduction, politics, basic combat and manipulation. Her talent in telepathy was discovered and she was trained in the skill, extensively and brutally.

After months Elena’s training came to an end. She was now fanatically loyal to the order, ready to give her body, life and soul to the cause. Elena was finally deployed to the field and sent on her first missions – which she concluded efficiently. Through the course of years, the decadent, hedonistic widow gained the reputation of the motherly charismatic priestess. A MILF ready to aid those in need. After the untimely death of the previous High Priestess of the Order, she was chosen to be the successor and a new leader of the order.

Her growing net of agents and followers, allowed her to easily spread her influence in the capital, easily becoming one of the most influential church Orders.

She also managed to squash the previous rumours of Order’s heretical beliefs. It was both, due to her PR actions as well as assassinating/bribing/blackmailing/arranging accidents of all witnesses, investigators and a few church inquisitors.

With a clean slate, Elena, the leader of Jade Moon Order, entered the court, answering the long-awaited call of the new Emperor.

Personality/History: Verner was an orphan taken in by the Order due to his inherent abilities. Sadly, growing up ostracized was hard especially for a boy who had quite the innate skill to blend in with his surroundings. Yet the same abilities that caused him to be ostracized, were the same ones that allowed him to find a mother figure as he fell into Vizelle's hands.

He grew up being molded into her assassin, using his telekinesis to stop a person's heart as they sleep. He successfully rid his "Mother's" enemies for her.

Personality/History: Rikkert was the oldest son of a long standing military family. He was raised to be a distinguished soldier, on the road to take his father's place as a General of planet Yeris. Daily rigorous training was always his schedule. But after a relaxing time at a bar turns into a drunken brawl, Rikkert unconsciously uses magic to set his opponent's clothes a blaze. Causing everyone to panic, which made it next to impossible for his family to silence the rumors. Knowing his son will have no future in the empire's army, much less attain the rank of General. His father decided to disown him, after sending him into the Order's custody.

Rikkert was of course disheartened, cursing the sorcerer's as freaks. Even going as far as to act in an extremely aggressive manner, that was until Vizelle got to him. After showing him how powerful sorcery is with the right amount of control, she proceeds to lure him in with a few honeyed words. She sunk her claws into him, molding him into her juggernaut.

Personality/History: No one truly knows who Jeryn is, since his story changes everytime he tells it. But what is known about him is his extremely active sex drive. Boasting about the fact that he's bedded every woman in the Order, but when he was informed of missing out on a certain "Frightening bitch." His pride was hurt, and he immediately set out to stalk his prey. When he realized what a beauty his target was, he grew excited. Unfortunately, he never realized that his prey was an even bigger predator.

When he set out to seduce Vizelle, was when she slowly molded him into being her spy. She accepted his advances, leaving him unaware that her Telepathy left ideas that she's his one true love, his goddess, his world. And before long, Vizelle acquired her third disciple, one that loved her more than anything, and wish to do his utmost to attain her goals. By collecting information on anyone she deemed necessary.

Personality/History: Vizelle was a gifted Sorceress ever since her talent for magic was discovered. Yet no one knew that she had the unique ability to master three paths at once. All the order knew of her abilities were her masterful control of Bionics, and ruthlessness in Combat Sorceries.

However, despite her talents, growing up in the Order caused her to be ostracized by the outside world. Even her parents were fearful of her, leaving her with nothing to do but master her spells. Allowing her to realize her proficiency in Telepathy. Which only made her disdain for others grow, as she realized they hated that which made her special... her immense magical abilities. Though the idea of simply refraining from using her magic popped into her mind, her attempt to do so only proved to further alienate her from others.

So Vizelle decided to live for herself, honing her abilities, while shunning everyone, including her peers in the order. And as she grew into a beauty, she realized men, and some women have started to look at her differently. Though the fear in their eyes remained, a little peek with her Telepathy showed lust toward her. Which showed her a new side to people, and a new way in interacting with others. Through these "interactions," Vizelle realized. People are ruled by their fears, two emotions she's more than happy to use against everyone that stood in her way.

After being in the Order for a few decades, Vizelle was dubbed by her peers, "the Black," due to her heartless ways. But everyone who knew of her ways has already "passed" due to old age. Leaving the new generation, and some uninterested seniors thinking her title merely came from her hair, and attire.

However as saw no change in how people saw, and treated sorcerers. Causing her to accept the position of Court Sorcerer under the new, young emperor. Thinking, "Why be opressed, when I can do the opressing?" Using her extensive skills in bionics to revilatize her old body, turning back the clock, making her body take on her former mature beauty. Aiming to use her adult charms to turn the emperor into her own pawn, Vizelle seeks to shift the balance of power toward the Order's side.

Personality/History:

Spoiler: BACKSTORY!

Originally the only daughter of a relatively minor noble, Hersilia had assumed at an early age that her life would be one of little note and attention. She was fine with that, as she was a fairly lazy lord but the way she was lazy was somewhat... odd. For Hersilia had discovered early on that while simply ignoring the peasants concerns to focus on her own hedonism was an option, if she kept them happy, well-fed, and relatively intelligent enough to deal with minor-to-middling concerns on their own, they bothered her even less and were even WILLING to let her stay in her castle and indulge a number of her vices. On top of that, they seemed to have no problem letting her have more than her fair share of things, WITHOUT forceful coercion, so long as she left them enough to satisfy their needs as well. It truly was far less effort to be kind than to be a bitch like so many of the other noble ladies... even if it was only a means to her own laid-back ends.

It was perhaps the success of her hands-off approach that first caught the attention of the Emperor when he had been looking for a bride to replace his last. It had been ten years since the former Empress had passed due to complications in child birth to the youngest child and while the Emperor felt he had no need for more children, some of his council had continually advised over the years he take a new wife to "keep up the Emperor's dedication to the bloodline should any of His heirs die prematurely".

When he finally relented and came to meet her as a candidate on her eighteenth birthday, he was captivated by her surprising intelligence and beauty. He was also pleased that Hersilia seemed to be on the same wavelength that she was only really meant to be there as a trophy wife than any serious ruler. This let her continue her laid back ways (though at a grander scale) and even gave her enough time to dabble in Biomancy... though she mostly uses it to temporarily alter her body appearance in ways that are attractive to whoever's attention she is trying to catch, quickly change her hair color (both up and down stairs), or even take on the surface level appearance of other alien races (not enough to fool a close inspection but she can pass as a face in the crowd or if someone's got enough of an alien fetish to ignore the shortcomings).

She quickly gained a fondness for Carius, mostly recognizing that the shy little boy was in a similar position to hers. His life seemed like it would be one where if he kept his head down in the right way, he could live it out in relative comfort and safety and thus she became as much of a laid-back big sister figure in his life more than a step-mom and grew as close as she could to him to help him navigate that path.

Then the Emperor and most of his children got themselves killed, leaving Carius the full heir and her the Dowager Empress, which meant a lot of irritating responsibilities for both of them. Still, she wants to keep her mostly comfortable life and her way of doing things in the past had worked so she figured she might as well try to guide her step-son down a similar path of ruling for the sake of both their continued enjoyments. So she gives him council when he asks for it, offers advice if she feels he needs it, tries to turn away the influence of those she considers problematic... and is occasionally willing to help Carius "take the edge off" should he start feeling too "stressed".

She has no plans to marry him or produce an heir for him (another underutilized element of Biomancy she studied: Birth Control) but he HAS grown into an attractive young man and should he ever become willful and assertive enough to demand it she MIGHT not say no...

 

I still can't decide on what to do. I only really function with input from other people. I debated the Hive Mind one, but then wasn't sure what I could actually do with that. So either the blue girl I had or the Not!dark elf aliens(I still prefer the actual dark elfs instead of just tanned elves but her design was nice enough to get by.)

 

I can't say I would turn down a dark/tanned elf myself.

So I’ll do the dark elf or the blue one, if not for any other reason then while the scientist is interesting, if I’m doing a space alien game, I’m inclined for doing something more exotic. I’m wondering if she could have like a unqiue psionic path to the temple monks. Like materalizing things out of thin air or something. Don’t need to. Just curious. Not sure if this is exactly what I’m doing yet but I can probably go with this and change later.

Rabrayza monks: Her ranking with the temple allows her a good size of junior students and while not many, they are all psionics with martial prowess and expertise. While not heavily invested in battle for the sake of it, their combat ability is comparable to that of some empire’s special elite. There’s a reason that for all the attempts of alien conquering and warp being attacks, the temple still stands. Their attitude towards the Terran Order psychics can be called patronizing at best and despite the similarities, they see themselves as too different to be friends.

Order Sorcerers- While more than the monks and maybe a bit weaker due to too much focus on powers without training their actual fighting ability, they are still the bulk of what she has ready. Not a particularly large group of Order Sorcerers due to limited trust in giving troops to a different species, but there is a faction willing to follow her taken in by what they could learn from these xeno psionics.

Background:

"I screamed into hell, and it screamed back."

A fairly new species to emerge from humanity, a lot of information still being compiled on them and all the actual physiological differences. For some inexplicable reason, they have found some popularity with humans and other humanoid species leading to sizeable population growth, albeit still rare.

The extended lifespan and improved psychic powers come to mind, but if the original host generation is anything to go by, they aren't without their flaws. Changed from humanities first explorations into the warp, the Khell'zen resemble classical deceptions of elves. Researchers debate if this was unconsciously influenced by human's latent psychic potential drifting towards the evolutionary chain or perhaps one of the beings from the Warp directing it this way on purpose using what it knows about humanculture.

Original attempts to expand by the Terrans were...complicated. Fairy young as a whole to the situations of space, obviously a few of them felt the need to brave the Warp and attempt to colonize the planets and grab the previously untapped resources inside it. Touching down on Modrin X bordering on the fringes of the Warp, the colony became one of the first examples for humanity learning why all those free resources in the Warp were left alone the hard way.

Being part of the early generations of Khell'zen, Thyme remembers two large parts of her youth. Spending most of her time with annoying tech nerds poking at her with tools and the pure madness and chaotic nature of staying too close to the Void. Seeing the forces of chaos at work unfold, many of the Khell'zen grew up in fear of the forces of the void, but others began to look at it with a certain sense of beauty and admiration.

Humanity sees itself separate from the whole, but Thyme had saw it. She had seen the truth. The faith possessed by these void touched humanoids isn't easily understood by outsiders and many aren't trusted as being seen as servants of chaos. At the same time, this is true, and also not. Thyme grew up as a monk of the Khell's Order. Despite popular belief, their religion is not innately hedonistic by design and it does not encourage vile acts by intention. Their belief comes from the idea that only by meeting your darkest self, can someone's will truly be tested. To push past limits is part of unlocking someone's true psionic potential and to accept the balance of good and bad is part of ensuring the light doesn't turn on itself. Accepting people's darker desires is in fact, a fundamental part of keeping the light guided. Good should ultimately win over evil, but it shouldn't always win, lest it becomes the source of oppression and tyranny itself.

The monks aren't strangers to violence or war, but neither do they seek it. They see themselves as dedicated into growing humanity's potential as a whole. Thyme arrived into court as something of a spiritual advisor as well as offering her services to the Order. While she's happy to give input, she silently judges the original strain of humanity as unevolved, but aims to try and help them overcome their "handicap." The typical Khell'zen condescension is not a new trait in just her, and while desired for their rarity, they aren't necessarily well liked by most humans.

During her youth, an encounter with a particularly nasty warp being left her with severe nerve damage in her hands, forcing her to train and hone her psionic powers to compensate. As a result, her powers are pretty well trained from constant use, but when left without them can struggle to open a door without assistance. Much of the use of her hands extends from manipulating them telekentically, but also leaves her with very poor motor control and difficulty with any finer tasks that don’t require force of strength

 

I feel like we would have done well to co-ordinate.

Well initially I'd thought since we'd both be playing priestesses it might have been a good idea to come up with an idea about what The Holy Mother Church was but then you went with the Order of the Jade Moon and I was like 'What!? What's the Order of the Jade Moon!? That wasn't mentioned." before I figured you were playing a priestess from a different religion.

Or maybe you're not, maybe the Sect of the Sapphire Hearth and the Order of the Jade Moon are part of The Holy Mother Church, just different chapters or sum-such. You know the Followers of the Raven's Wing, the Chapter of the Broken Arrow, the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (No one likes that last one. The deity they emphasize is weird and doesn't fit with the others...). In that instance Elena is from the "Asset Acquisition" wing of the Church while Yannika is from the "Customer Retention" arm.

I was also wondering if our characters knew each other and if they did were they friends? Enemies? Frenemies? You know just ideas that we might have been able to work together with @Tjf to figure out but 'Oh well' this works to.

 

Basically, your both in different orders of the same church. Kind of like how the Catholics have Jesuits and Dominicans etc.

In the meantime, there's still some time before the game will start, so if you two want to coordinate through dms or something, that's still an option.
