Anai looked sceptically. "Will he be useful?" She asked, then looked at her positive attitude. "Do you think we will achieve the peace we desire? Or will we have to run?"
"Have you become an oracle, to speak in riddles?" Anai chuckled. "If you tell me what's the situation, I might give advice or help."
Maat laughed. "Oh, come now. It surely was not that easy." The woman got up and lighted an incense. "So, what do we do now?" She asked as a sweet smell touched the general's nose.
"I don't mean to be cryptic, mother." She shakes her head. "I fear that the Romans are a hydra. Our plan is to cut off the head, kill the general, but how do we know that they won't just grow two more? If we manage to win this siege, the Romans might send more armies here, not take away the one they have."
Pesca walks over and extinguishes the flame, knowing that some incense can be used to drug and paralyse a victim. "Now, you tell me what you know of the city's defences, and which nobles are on which side."
Anai smiled. "You are absolutely right." She nodded her head. "Rome is a hydra that will eat everything. But..." She smiled. "The heads have a tendency of attacking each other. After we dealt with the general, our allies in Rome will push for peace under, what they perceive, victorious terms."
Maat smiled as she stepped closer to the general. "I don't know anything about defences. As for loyalties, it all is flowing." She moved her hand over the general's chest. "And Anai controls the flow."
The two head off across the camp, entering the big tent that the general had given to Maat. "So," she hops on a couch, "how are you going to keep me from getting bored?"
"I wasn't aware we had allies in Rome." She turns to face her mother. "Can we trust that once we've helped them get rid of Pesca, that they'll keep their word?"
"What do you know, exactly?" Pesca grunts in irritation, and takes hold of her wrist, lifting her hand away, gently, but firm enough that he can restrain her if needed.
'Wow, she sure gets the noble guest treatment,' Aulus looked around the tent, before he smiled at Agorix, sitting down next to her, 'I haven't thought about that yet. Maybe you have an idea?'
"I don't know." She shrugs. "We could drink some more, maybe play a bit of dice for coins. Or maybe we could do something a little more exciting."
'Oh?' Aulus chuckled, moving a little closer to the red-haired barbarian, 'What kind of excitement did you have in mind?'
"Well, I was thinking we could get to know one another a little better." She grins. "We have two ways of doing that where I'm from: On the training ground, or on the bed. Up to you." Agorix gives a shit eating smirk. "Either way, you'll end up on your back."
'I think I'll have to travel to Massalia at some point,' Aulus smiled, 'I've had enough fighting for today, so that leaves one option to get to know each other.' Aulus put his hand on Agorix' thigh, scooting closer and leaning in for a kiss.
