Aulus returned the kiss gently, smiling after ending it, 'I love the feeling of your lips. But we probably shouldn't tonight. I don't think the men would approve of me indulging myself while they get nothing and need to keep watch.'
She finds the head of the amazons waiting, sitting flanked by two of her guards. "My lady." She nods her head.
"The general, ma'am, he demands the assistance of your men in clearing out Pesca's loyalists." Quintus keeps his face obscured.
"Coward." She grins. "Blaming it all on your men." She waves a hand to show that she's joking. Indeed, a few of the men do look jealous, and he even catches Aphrodite looking. Agorix heads off. After a while, Ouei approaches. "Soldier. I'd like to thank you, for helping my daughter and I." Her voice is even and dignified.
Anai nods to the Amazon. "Chieftess, I thank you for coming." She pointed at the table, motioning for them to seat.
Claudia scowled. "I have already passed the message to your 'general'. My husband's soldiers will not move against fellow Romans. We are returning, to Rome." She said.
'I'm Aulus, Ouei,' the young Roman smiled at the older Egyptian woman, 'I'm just following the general's orders, you can thank him once you are reunited. Would you like some dried meat and mead?' Aulus offered her some of the supplies they had found.
"Of course." She nods respectfully, before getting to business. "I apologise for the trouble. What happened seems to have been a mistake. Nonetheless, my warriors are out for blood."
Pesca smirks. I have no idea if she's on my side, but at least she's not on Andros'. "Really, you won't help" Pesca says, as he lifts his helmet off of his head and looks at Claudia, "even if it's a friend asking?"
She nods, taking the offered supplies. "Thank you." She takes a sip of the mead, before her dark eyes look at Aulus'. "I see my daughter has taken a liking to you."
"Indeed, it was unfortunate." Anai nodded. "Yet turning against allies, for misjudgement cannot be accepted and cannot continue, unless we want to have the entire city in fire." Anai said. "Yet I understand the need for vengeance. I just request to shift the anger at the guilty party, at the traitorous nobles."
There is a sign of surprise of Claudia's face, even shock. A smirk shows on her face, then she scowled again. "Would a friend make soo many troubles for his friends?" She asked scowling, but there more positiveness in her tone.
Ouei narrowed her eyes. Probably she misinterpreted what Aulus was saying, because her answer was rather on the edge. "I hope it will not be." She said shortly. "At the moment, she is still a property of general, so I hope you are not thinking about stealing from my master."
"I will speak to my warriors, in the hope that they understand." She looks at Anai. "You know where these traitors are? My girls will accept nothing but personal vengeance, you understand. They'll want to kill these traitors themselves."
"A good friend would also offer a gift in return." He smirks. "Flavia's network of allies, for example."
'Property?' Aulus raised an eyebrow, 'The general only ever called her his daughter. And no, I don't intend to defile Pesca's and your daughter, Ouei. Neither do I intend to do that to you, or give you to my men to keep morale up.'
"My master is...kind. Kinder than he could be. Sometimes he allows the girl to forget her place." She looks at him as he makes his comment, clearly trying to determine if he meant the part about giving her to the men as a threat.
Anai hummed. "I suspect that they hide somewhere inside the hidden passages in the palace. Unfortunetly, I don't have all the hidden passages mapped, but I have someone who is familiar with some of them. She is seeking through those passages, and will report once she finds the traitors." She paused. "Once they will be found, I will call on you." She looked at the cheiftess. "Is that acceptable?"
