"Hello there...hic." Yoeseph smiles, no signs of recognition on his face. "Ain't you just a beauty? What...hic...is a girl like you...hic...doing here?"
Yannika gave her younger brother a warm but sad smile. He was handsome she noted, a young man with more than a little hint of boyishness. He was only a few years older than Carius, and he seemed so different than the little brother she used to know. "I don't suppose you'd recognize me would you? You were only what?... eight when I left?" Yannika stifled back a tear, "It's good to see you little brother. I've missed you."
"Ya-Yannika?" He chuckles. "I guess I'm drunker than I thought." Shaking his head, he flashes her a smile that would probably be quite charming if he was sober.
"And his name?" Vizelle asked Omera for her brother's name, while looking at Natasi. "Either way, welcome aboard." She said taking a deep breath, "Now then." She looks toward Mary. "Hmm. How about you tell me what, or who you really are?" She asked, "The humans here were ancient, and the beings that wiped them out could cleanse, and restore a planet within minutes. How is it did you manage to "retrieve" the bodies that you have?"
"Not quite." she said and held out her arms for a hug. He might have been drunk, but she didn't care. She was too overwhelmed to see him. "Come give your sister a hug."
"Urik, miss." Omera answers hurriedly, while Natasi nods in acknowledgement. Mary shrugs. "The form I currently occupy isn't ancient. It came here not that long ago, with the others. They were attempting to claim this planet, as you have done."
It's unclear if Yoeseph is aware that she's real, but he closes in on her nonetheless, arms wrapping around her and face nestling against her chest. "Sis..."
"Hmm. That makes sense, I guess." Vizelle sighed, thinking back on the northern empire's insignia. So was Varrick the one that sent them here? She thought to herself, "Well, Omera, Natasi, and Urik. Welcome to our growing little enterpise." She cooed, trying to stand up. "Since you have this key card. Have you examined what was behind the northern door?"
Vizelle manages to pick herself up on shaky legs, her disciples supporting her. Natasi shakes her head. "No. We found the remains of a Northern Research Institute team, and the keycard with it, but we haven't yet located their base. Given that you're mentioning a specific door, I suppose you succeeded where we failed?"
Yannika didn't care about where Yoeseph rested his head, she was just happy to be hugging him. One arm wrapped around his back over top of his shoulder, while the other cradled the back of his head to her. "Oh Yoeseph. My baby brother, it's been far too long. Are you well?"
"Better now." He looks up at her, standing straighter, though still leaning on her a little because of his drunkenness. "Is...Is it really you?"
"Yes, I suppose I have." Vizelle said as she leans against Verner. "Hmm. Wait a minute. Are you not the ones that disposed of those people?" She pondered, "Interesting. This planet holds a lot more secrets than expected."
She shakes her head. "No, we found them." Natasi shakes her head. "Not to say that we wouldn't have, if they'd gotten in our way, but no, they weren't our doing."
Yoeseph chuckles. "Gods, this is embarassing..." He pushes off of her, leaning on the wall. "Not what you were expecting me to be like, huh?"
She stepped up to him and placed her hand gently on his cheek, "You have no need to be embarrassed Yoeseph. You're a young man and you went out and got drunk. That's something young men do." she gave him the benefit of the doubt. While Tymothy and Velve had spoken of his troubles, they were but two sources. She would judge for herself his troubles. She'd made errors with her presumptions before recalling Lave V. "I had never expected to be returning home. It was only serendipity that brought me here." True enough, after a fashion. "So I had no idea what anyone would be like, least of all you. You were a child when I was sent away. A wonderful, bright, and happy child, but so many things can and do happen to people in twenty years. So I made sure I didn't have expectations. There is nothing to disappoint if that's what you're worried about. All I want to do now, is get to know you and everyone. We have so much to catch up on."
"Haha! Amusing." Vizelle giggled, "So was it an experiment gone wrong. Something sealed off behind that door. Or was it the beings that destroyed the ancient psionics here?" She pondered to herself, smiling as she gave her theories. "Fuu. Well, we'll just have to find out for ourselves. Are there any rooms here?"
"Thanks, sis." He smiles. "Yeah, I'd like that as well." He pushes away from the wall, revelation sobering him a little. "I-uh, you want to sit and have something to drink before dinner? Non-alcoholic for me, of course." The younger man smiles. "You know, twenty years sure haven't done anything to make you less beautiful. Sorry for hitting on you, by the way." He chuckles.
"Much of the complex is still blocked off to us." Dr Finos answers. "Most of what we've found so far hasn't been useful to us, though, so we were focusing on the interface device." "We think this was a government administration building, so much of what we've discovered pertains to that. Documents, records, etc. We're not archeologists, so what doesn't have scientific use, we tend to leave."
She let out a pacifying chuckle. "Don't dwell on it Yoeseph. I cannot count the number of drunken men who've been far more overt than you were just now." Not that she'd ever said 'No.' let alone minded. "And I would love to sit with you. Come tell me all about your life. I hear you're father's heir now! How have you settled into that? Are you anxious or excited?"
