Really Really Experienced
"Hmph, I suppose. It's a little nice, I guess." The rich woman shrugs. "I mean, not as nice as what's already in my collection, but I suppose it's worth seein' how it fits." She takes the necklace and fits it around her neck.D100: 86-10 (Antisocial)=76 (Pass)
"Mmh..." She touches the necklace, looking in a mirror. "You know... This is actually really pretty. Thanks." She smiles. "Sorry if I was a bit rude earlier. I guess my pa didn't raise me right." Dylan wonders what went wrong. Clearly the jewellery has some power, it's noticeably softened the heiress' opinion of him, but it hasn't made her the wanton submissive slave he wanted either. Maybe he read the runes wrong? Was there another step involved?D100: 42+10=52 (Minor Success)
"Someone should certainly try to," he huffed, his irritated growling still sounding like he normally talks.
The failure was a sign he still needed more power and understanding, which Queen Anai's treasures could provide and was one of his major motivators for this trip in particular compared to some of his previous ones. The ones who had opposed her had not just wanted to destroy Anai but ERASE her. That meant they FEARED her... and that fear had to come from something she could wield. And if he could wield that power too... well... he had never known respect his entire life but being feared? That seemed much more possible.
He knew he should not tarry too long on this particular task... but given the nature of the magic, perhaps a show of dominance was needed to really spark the magic into action? To that end, he took a few steps closer to her, not quite pressing up against her but certainly close to the edge of her comfort zone as he looked into her eyes intensely with a gaze that radiated his raw aggression. "I know I'd certainly make you better behaved," he snarled huskily.
