From there, it's a quick trip to the furnace, the thief finding that the basement is mercifully empty, the guard just there to keep drunk attendees from getting lost. As Katherine closes the the doors of the furnace behind her, she hears a crash as Detective Grey runs into the guard, and both men tumble painfully down the stairs.
