He's the most wonderful man I've ever met, but not much of an action hero I'm afraid." Looking over the three new arrivals, Kelly felt a pang of pity for them. Despite their appealing figures they seemed to be embarrassed by their state of undress. Kelly on the other hand wore her four strips of cloth held together by string with pride. It struck her that just that morning she would have felt the same way as the three women and she marveled at the change. The Blessing of the Goddess Isis was wondrous indeed, and Kelly found herself silently praising her Goddess. "We expect the way out to be this way." she indicated a pathway down the hall. "If the three of you are looking to leave you're welcome to join us."
@Tjf @Omega98 Natasha nervously smile at welcome of Kelly, who seems not at all ashamed of her state undress. "I have to agree, Max didn't have any fight skills but he have really strong will. He is the first men who didn't try anything... Sexual on me in this city, for what I'm gratefull." She said covering her breast embarrassed. On mention of leaving this city, her smile fade away. " I' m not sure if that is a good idea to leave. From what I know about this place and powers here, the gods or mages who control this place won't let us go so easly. If we want to get free, we should try to stop this corruption or find how to do this. Since you two are there scientists and we three are soldiers, we could work together." She said with confidence in her voice, quite opposite to her actual naked state.
@Tjf @Regin34 Kelly was confused for a moment. She knew Max had been looking for the City and that magic and mystery had been associated with it. But until she began her search for him she never thought magic was real. Michael himself had only been looking for treasure, or so she thought. While was now knew of the Goddess Isis, she hadn't heard anything about corruption. Although if one considered her gift 'corruption' she supposed that would count. She nuzzled into Max's chest and wrapped her arms around his. "What do you think Max? I came here to find you and now that I have a part of me just wants to go home. But if you think we should stay, at least for a bit, then I will."
Luke looked to the other two mercs, 'Maybe one of you two should take his place on the pressure plate while we look for a way to disable this trap? Or how best to get out of the way when it goes off.' Luke started to inspect the area, to figure out what would happen when the trap is triggered or how to disable it.
"I don't see why you'd be staying here." Layla shrugs. "With the coordinates to the lost city in our hands, there's not much point to hang back. I was planning to catch the first flight to Egypt."
Max looks at the two of them for a few moments, before he shakes his head. "I'd like nothing more than to go home with my wife, but I can't just up and leave, not when I'm so close. I want to find Anai herself." At the mention of the old queen's name, Kelly feels a rush of pure hatred, something she hasn't experienced since she gained her blessing. Natasha, on the other hand, isn't sure how it makes her feel. Fear? Anticipation?
Spoiler: Traps Roll D100: 92 Over the next twenty minutes, Luke gets to work on the trap. He finds that by lifting the floor plate, he's able to get at the mechanism inside, freeing the trapped man, and snagging an explosive device for himself in the process.
Kelly knew little to nothing about Queen Anai, and thus knew her anger was foreign. Yet she felt it all the same and wondered why. She remained quiet for a while before she nodded against Max's arm. "Okay, we stay. But tell me more about this Anai."
Heading into the store, Mori gets the sense that it's a pretty normal place. There are a few people wandering the shelves with trolleys, mostly elderly men and housewives. The van driver walks up to a woman behind the counter and shares a few words with her, giving her a quick peck on the lips, before he takes her place as the cashier. From the look of it, they're a husband-wife pair who own and run the store.
'Huh, would you look at that,' Luke inspected the explosive, 'That certainly wasn't made back in Roman times. Why would someone mine these ruins?' 'Well, no matter now,' Luke looked at Maria, 'I hope we can part ways on friendly terms? I regret that so many of your men had to die but we both have what we want now, don't we?'
Max slips his arm around her waist, enjoying her presence for a moment, before continuing. "Well, beyond what you've read from my notes, most of it is legend. They say that she was the queen of a city conquered by Rome. She came here, to this City built by the gods to imprison powerful demons, hoping to make some sort of pact, and gain the power she needed to destroy Rome." He looks down at her outfit, as though in remembrance. "They...uh...say she massacred a temple of priestesses who tried to stop her. Priestesses of, uh... Of Isis."
"Ho?" Mori grins, taking a look at the wife. Before approaching him, "Uhm, hello, er, do you speak english?" He asked, trying to make small talk, acting like he was just a normal tourist.
Luke took his staff and nodded, 'That's reassuring, I'm sure you have things to wrap up here. The best of luck, Maria, perhaps we'll meet again in Egypt.' Luke started to leave the ruins to get to a safehouse in Sicily, where he could plan his next move towards Egpyt and get some much needed rest.
“It was.” Miriam agreed and kissed Taia on the lips. “Let's get some rest so we'll be fresh in the morning...” (Night!)
A sense of betrayal shot through Kelly's veins and she could almost feel her blood boil. Rationally all of this meant nothing to her, it happened thousands of years ago to people she'd never met, and clearly it had no consequence on the world. What good would finding her tomb bring anyway, other than for archeological purposes? She was long dead. But Kelly felt an immense hatred for this woman anyway, and somehow knew she needed to find what remains of her there were. For her fallen sisters, for her Goddess. "Alright, how can we find her tomb then?"
