Irene nodded. "The question also is, what do we want from them?" She hummed. "Some business? A political favour? Support for one of our motions?" She wondered.

Irene hummed. "That's good idea... But it depends on what motion you want.... And would it convince the rest of the party to join you in voting for the motion... They need 7 votes..."
"Yes indeed we need need to convince the rest of the party to join. We can change the supporting one of our motions with something else the rest of party finds more pleasing for them but having a say in how the money is spend is a must have. I think we need to have a chat with our fellows party members because they will come for the ones how abstained first and is better to be on a single board then"Says Blake to Irene

44-45!? Closer than Jean had thought. But not close enough. That was ultimately a good thing in her eyes. The 12 abstentions however... that was the problem with neutral parties. You never knew where they stood. Blake Orange and Irene Alcalde were approaching and Jean was skeptical about it. Both had abstained and now they were marching over? If they wanted to offer to switch their votes in exchange for something it would be a shameless ploy, but no doubt useful. The RHP had goals she mostly agreed with, so if there could be some form of agreement between Shawn and the RHP it should only be advantageous to her family going forward. For her part, Jean scanned her eyes over the others who'd voted "NO", perhaps there were some among them who'd be willing to 'negotiate'. Especially if doing so would serve her interests.
As she looked around, she found a couple of people whom she could sway... Two independents - who would surely demand something in return. A senator from ERU - an elf with a stick in his ass, who would not miss a chance to show his superiority... and maybe another of those elven sluts. She doubted that anyone from NOP or PHP would change their vote... then there were a couple of JL senators who voted against the motion. The infighting at its best. CCL and VEL were equally divided through inner conflicts.
Irene Alcalde smiled as the duo approached. "Such an unsightly face you are making, senator." She said with a pleasant smile. "Are you feeling alright? Should I call a doctor?" She said with genuine worry... at least it sounded like that. Jacob could not see it, but he could swear the woman was somehow mocking him. Or maybe she wasn't. It was a jab at his lack of experience and age, that he was sure of.
Jacob rolls his eyes, not responding to the barb. "You seem pleased with yourself, senator Alcade." He keeps his eyes planted on hers, though he can't deny that he has an urge to look down at her body
"Pleased?" She cocked her head. "I guess... I am pleased, executing the will of my electorate, bringing their wishes to become fulfilled." She nodded her head. "Isn't that a reason to be pleased, Senator Del-" She paused as her eyes flickered to Jacob's parents, before moving back to him. "senator Jacob Delise?"
"You may have just doomed our economy for the sake of your racism." Jacob crosses his arms angrily. "But you wouldn't care about that, would you? The only people who'd starve would be the poor, and you don't care about them."
It could be his imagination, but Jacob could see that his words had some effect on her. But when she spoke, her voice was calm... and still, mostly pleasant. "Such a harsh statement... from the man whose party is mostly responsible for the state of our economy." There was some sadistic joy as she delivered the statement. "Forgive me for not putting my faith into the cohesion of your actions." She paused, her eyes flickering to Jacob's mother - Jean. "But unlike you, we are not irresponsible enough to ruin the Sanctum Mesa Republic... so, we are ready to support you... conditionally, of course."
