As he turns, the reporter starts following him - only to be stopped by the Senate's guard. One of them approached Jacob. "Are you alright, senator?" The synthesized voice made it impossible to tell who was wearing the armour.
Blake thinks for a moment before answering"That Miss Ling is a hard question to answer but theoretically if the loan is approved then the current situation will most likel improve but should the funds be used without careful consideration then a new more grave crisis will show up in Sanctum mesa , And about my discussion well all i can say is that it was about the loan and he has a very interesting way of saying no "Blake says
The reporter frowned as she heard it, but only slightly. "What do you mean by interesting way of saying no?" She asked. It was at this moment that Blake noticed his limousine parking on the side, and his driver waiting for him. Blake could cut the interview short, continue it or set another date for an interview...
The guard stood silent for a moment, before finally nodding. "Very well, senator." The guard waved a hand. "Two of the guards will escort you to your transport." the guard declared, then turned around, not waiting for answer or protest. As Jacob continued, escorted by guards he was soon in front of his hover-car. His driver opened him the door and closed it behind him before she entered behind the steering wheel and put on the helmet. "Where to, sir?" She asked.
"Well Miss Ling looks like i run out of time for today but if you want to continue this interview at a later date" Blake takes from his suit a small business card "Call me and my secretary will sure arrange it when us both will not be so busy"
The woman nodded, as she eagerly took the card. Blake soon entered the limousine, followed by Symania, who took a seat next to him. The insides of the limousine were rich, comfortable, and private. The driver was cut of from the passengers. There was a small bar with alcohol and monitors which allowed both - to work and watch the news. "Where to, sir?" Blake's driver's voice sounded through the intercom. Blake considered his options. He could go home, to rest. Or to his office, to work. He might set up a meeting with a politician or businessman to rub some shoulders. Or he could check one of his businesses for the possibility of improving it...
"To my weapons factory driver "Says Blake before taking a glass of alcohol and taking a sip of it "So Symania anything noteworthy happened there recently "Says Blake referring to the weapons factory
Sitting next to him, his secretary looked at the datapad. Blake's eye travelled over her body, stopping on her thighs and cleavage, taking in her face... Spoiler: control 7- success He swallowed and shook his head lightly, his attention moving to what she was saying. "...thus, the factory's income is even lower. Right now, we are adding money to it's budget, to keep it operating. If we will not find a solution soon, you might need to fire a number of people." She spoke. "The problem with selling is that the equipment we are producing is outdated and there are really no buyers for it." She paused, frowning as she considered something.
Blake sighs before answering "That would most unpleasant to have to fire people in this economic crisis, is there any way we can update what we are producing to a more modern product ? "Ask Blake before placing the glass of alcohol back on the bar having enough for today
Symania hesitated. "We could buy licences for certain weapons from one of the neighbouring companies... or states. Or we could invest in the development of new technology - but that would be a long term project and the outcome would be... unsure." Symania fell silent, before slowly speaking. "We could find a new market... but not an exactly legal one... or one which would not be frowned upon..." She finished.
@Mechro Tylani D'adras observed as a shuttle flew up to the landing pad she was standing on, before landing. She new the type - she flew the military version of this ship, during her drop on Qar'ry IV. This was the civilian version - one more suited for politician, one like herself. It was her shuttle - one of the privileges of the station, she would guess... one she was not shy about using. She looked to her side, her eyes landing on the senate guard. She observed the guardians of the senate for a little while, embarking on her ship. She sat down in the chair and waited for the ramp to close. The session in the senate was a mess. The Sanctum Mesa Republic was a mess... and even if it was given the money it requested, Tylani was not sure if they would be able to use it wisely. She leaned against her seat and considered her next step. There was a number of things she could do... the question was, how would she want to proceed? She lacked a plan... She could travel to her political advisors, and consult with them... or she could discuss the situation with a few of her fellow senators. The prospect of going home, opening a bottle of wine and inviting some dancers was also tempting... "Where to Senator?" Tylani looked up - her pilot, Kaylessa turned to her, awaiting her instructions.
Blake stays silent for a while before speaking "I say lets invest in development il will make a bet on it and in the meantime we buy some cheap licences even if garbage at least is garbage people will pay for, and if things go worse them il do your last offer "Says Blake before looking at Symania
Oh how tempting it was indeed to simply go home and let some stims and pleasant company wash away her worries. Sadly, the recent senate vote and the pandemonium that followed it required Tylani's personal attention. The VEL was split on the issue...again, and that state of affairs simply could not go on... Leaning further back into the comfy embrace of her seat, the Asari senator finally gave the order to her patiently waiting pilot. "Head to the Party Headquarters, but take the scenic route. I will need a few minutes of holo-conferancing to set everything up." As soon as they were in the air, Tylani pressed a switch upon her armrest which unlocked the small wine cabinet she had installed just for occasions such as this. As she took a long sip from her crystal glass and let her eyes wander across the cityscape beneath her, the Asari senator's hand was already racing across the holographic keys of her transport's communications suite. Time to call up some of her fellow senators, and finally organize a long-overdue united front in the party.
Symania frowned. "Where we will take money to both - buy licenses and develop the research department? Doing everything at once will be putting the company in danger of bankruptcy..."
Kaylessa did not answer, only nodded. Tylani could feel as the shuttle raised and started moving slowly, above the city. That allowed Tylani to admire the view... of the better parts of the city. "We can arrive in half an hour." She heard Kaylessa. Tylani admired the city for a moment, before turning to her console and searching the contacts. Her fingers hovered over the holo-keyboard for a while, before she settled on calling her most stern ally - senator Ciara Miller. The holo was on hold for a few minutes, allowing the Asari to admire the view... before they reached the poorer areas. Finally, the monitor switched, showing her fellow party member and senator.
"Ciara! Thank you for answering me so swiftly. I hope you are already aware of why I am calling you?" While all the proper courtesies were observed, Tylani was not in a mood for simple pleasantries, as denoted by her sharp tone. There would always be time for gossip and less serious discussions at a later date when the situation wasn't as precarious as it was now...
"I guess you are right there for now doing to much at the same time is not to good. Well go with the licenses for now its a somewhat quick solution to the factory's income problem but i want you look into how much money and resources would it take to develop new techs in case we somehow stumble on a lot of money in the future" Blake answers
The blond woman's expression did not change as Tylani spoke. "I will take an educated guess it is connected to the latest voting in the senate?" Those words were spoken calmly, but Tylani could see that there was a note of sarcasm in there.
