Can anyone recommend a site like CHYOA, but appropriate for all ages? I ask because I introduced my kids to my original Choose Your Own Adventure books, and they want to write their own. So I'm seeking a child-friendly site where they can do what we do here, but without the sex and other stuff which they'll be ready for later. I have one in late teens and one "tween". (The older one isn't going to learn anything new from CHYOA, she's not that naive and I'm under no illusions that she's still the sweet innocent child I sent off to kindergarten. But she's still under 18, and it would be weird for her Dad to recommend an erotica website.)
I was recently looking at https://www.inklewriter.com/ as an easy way to write CYOA stories off-site. If you want something more flexible, there's Twine, but it'd probably be harder to learn, especially for children. Unfortunately, the downside of either is that they aren't all collected and presented on a site like this. That could be an advantage if you don't really want them on the wild-west public forum of the internet, but not so much if they want to share them with a broad base. Either inklewriter or Twine will allow them to share, they'll just have to do the legwork themselves getting the link out there. Best of luck to you and your kids!
I can’t really name any off the top of my head. That is, think of any that I think are particularly good. It’s the same with chyoa, I guess. Anyone can write a story. The problem is, anyone can write a story. There was one that I remember what it looks like, but can’t remember it’s name. If I find our, I’ll let you know.
I can offer you to clone CHYOA and run it under a different name and domain. I've been planning to start a non-erotic version for a long time, but haven't found the time yet.
