Why how do you do, good fellows? This here is but a little intro to all the great wonders y’all can hope t’see if ye come to Silver Creek, Colorado out west, a growing, little mining town in the Rocky Mountains. Now that the railway reaches all the way there, there’s plenty work to be had for a strapping young lad and an ambitious young lady. And did I mention there’s gold been found there not too long ago? Come one, come all to Silver Creek, the best little spot in the country to make a name for yourself! I’ve thought I’d try my luck at running one of these RP games. We’ve done fantasy, we’ve done science fiction, but I always thought the Western setting made a nice backdrop for adventure. This will be obviously inspired by classic Westerns but also things like West World (no robots here, though). Would anyone be interested in a game like this?
Hmm, this is a tough one. On one hand I have never tried a Western-setting game, so it will be fun to try something new. On the other hand, I have never tried a Western-setting game, so I might have trouble figuring out what to do... I'll need to think about it some more before I can decide.
That’s perfectly understandable, I didn’t expect people to immediately jump at the chance, as I figured there is probably a good reason there never has been a Western RPG played here. It’s a bit of a niche genre and I’m not the biggest Western fan myself to be honest, I just thought I’d use something different from all the things we usually do.
I would like to try it. I played in red dead redemption and watched many western, so I like these climates.
One train ticket to Silver Creek for the young gentleman. Great, I hope it’ll turn out well. I might have to get RDR1/2 to get some inspiration for the game
I might. Timezone's are still an issue as always and there's a lot of other things in real life that keep piling on. Are we using photo images then?
Time zone problems are always a factor, it’s not going to be some real-time chat game anyway . No, no photos, I’ll use (realistic) paintings, but I’ll be also using anime pictures as I find them as well.
Alright. How realistic is the setting? Not too sure if I’ll still do it yet, mainly because it’s actually kind of hard to find a lot of good character designs for the setting honestly. Probably can find something eventually
Ah yes, Timezones. That thing that makes me miss 4 pages of stuff happening when I try to do any RPG here.
I’m mostly in the camp causing the posts to pile up but I can appreciate that it sucks. For @Regin34 and anyone interested, I’ve made the character thread: The Tale of Silver Creek ~~~ Characters
