Thanks! There are a few chapters missing though. Is it only backed up every so often? If the chapters are gone then no problem I just want to make sure.
Hey there y'all. I was wondering if there was an option to change the category of your story. I think it would be better fitted elsewhere, and I'm a lot of chapters in, so it would be a shame if I have to re write everything
If you access the My Stories screen and look for the dots to the side of any story you own, you can click there and find the edit story feature. There, you can edit the category near the bottom of the options. Hope that helps!
I feel like this should definitely be clearer somehow. I've had to tell multiple people the same thing in my time on this site and I agree myself it's unnecessarily opaque for such an important feature. Like you should be able to edit your stories directly from their first page if they belong to you.
Is is possible to have a story branch then reconnect to form a single line again? I want to write a chapter where the reader can select what they want to do, like go to the park or the mall, each selection had a chapter or two, then they both reconnect for the same chapter later on. Like, they go to the mall and have fun around the corner, or they go to the park and do it behind a tree, but whichever one they choose, they end up back at their house for the same exact chapter.
Two stories that I submitted chapters to but did not create show up as "My Stories" while other ones do not. Does anyone know why this happens? How do I remove the stories that aren't mine from the My Stories section of my profile?
It happens when the story owner makes you Owner or Editor. I am not sure how to remove them unless the Owner takes you off the story. Note that this can happen even if you don't submit chapters - I have two stories in my profile where the Owner added me just after we discussed collaborating, but I haven't posted anything yet.
It means you've been added as an author to those stories by their owners. I'm assuming that they're moderated stories, and the owner made you an author so they didn't have to review your chapters. Just ask them to remove you. Edit: Beaten by a fraction of a second...
If you don't want a story on your list and the story owner refuses to remove the assignment, you can ask a moderator to do that.
You can send me a message on the site. (You can also find the list of moderators in the CHYOA Guide.) (Please ask the story owner first. Otherwise, they might think there might have been a bug and add you once again.)
I would like some clarification on something. If you wish to add a chapter to an existing story, is it considered polite to ask permission first or should i just go ahead and do it?
An author has the option to make their story open (any one can post), moderated (they have to approve), or private (no one can add but them). If they allow submissions, I think that *is* their permission. Unless you are doing something extreme like killing off the main character or working in new fetishes not already addressed in the main story, I think you'd be fine posting without asking.
