Hey everyone. I want to put a couple of lines of dialogue in Italian in one of my stories. I've used Google Translate but I'm pretty sure it's lacking authenticity/idiomatic phrasing. If anybody wouldn't mind helping me out that would be super appreciated! It's literally three or four sentences, so it shouldn't take much time or effort
I suppose there's no reason not to put the text down here. The context is my protagonist speaking with her mother, who is giving her a hard time about staying home to study and not coming on holiday. "Hello darling. You look pale. You should have come." "Next time, mama. I have been out, at least." That's it! I am having the characters maintain their conversation but I'm using [square brackets] to indicate the dialogue is to be interpreted as still being in Italian.
"Ciao tesoro. Ti vedo pallido. Saresti dovuto venire." "La prossima volta, Mamma. Almeno sono stato fuori." Here you go, enjoy.
