the curse is random and I will roll for it in the next post. I'm just excited about getting to show off what the book does. Demon Magic is fun Though one of the curses is Obedience... Which might be a problem here >.>
Don't do it Gambio! What's more important, Goma or a silly kink! I've sacrificed my kink at every floor monster, you can make it past this XD
Newest Post: Demonic Deal Accepted And here I thought Puppet would be the first Demon Deal you accepted...
Holy macaroni! This shit is some of the most tense writing I ever experienced. The fact that there are actual stakes here, just makes this so much more intense Also frigging Yulia rolling a 2 Thankfully we threw really everything and the kitchen sink at them. Phew As always, my thoughts follow tomorrow, just wanted to uh rant or whatever. Incidentally, I know you posted this already but can you repost the side effects of the demonic spellbooks?
Yeah I was thinking I really should put that somewhere more accessible. As well as a few other things. Edit: There is now a game file about Demon Deals that includes explanation of curses. It can be found from the Story So Far Page.
Nice I honestly think we lucked out with this one. Atrophy sounds relativly harmless in comparison to the other stuff also "There may be extra effects of taking Demon Deals that are more far reaching... Like drawing attention." WINK WINK NUDGE NUDGE
Yep, I have noticed the notice... My plans will also come later but first some questions. Is the use of blizzard going to cost us each use or was it just learning it? Is blizzard always a -12? How big was the blizzard? It hit 2 but not Goma this time, but how close was it? This we can test next time, but does it hit everything but Yulia, or only her enemies?
You'll have to do more testing to figure out the exact effects of Blizzard, it was a -12 because of the silver staff, it's a -10 base. The cost is just for learning it. The blizzard filled the area and did in fact hit Goma and The Mind Flayer holding her, but both simply didn't notice as they were both too focused on things happening in their own little reality.
Huge success! Great job Yulia, Goma is safe! Now I'm going to need you to poke Goma just to make sure it's not a mimic... Just saying. Problem... Well at least you didn't cause trouble so I WILL NOW erase you. Seems you missed your chance to escape though... Shame. Alright, so the Abys has found us. We need to get to town and rest right away... After everyone gets a poke on the finger or something to test for mimics. After resting we should try out the blizzard as a party and see if it's going to hamper our other members ability to fight. After that we should do the auction... Unless the curing stone is better than the demonic book. I think the book is better if we get desperate again.
For fuck's sake warider don't play into engin's kinks like that, she's gonna write a brutal ryona scene i just know it. Alright, fine, if everyone gets injured, I guess we can get over it with minimal emotional damages. Just make sure Yulia is included in the bloodletting. Everyone needs to be equal in this. Also make sure to cuddle later as a mental healing method, you need to rest anyway. For fucks sake I hope Yulia doesn' get a blood fetish from this. Anyways, great job Yulia. Despite the debuff I think you are stronger now. Cherchiel and Isalia, can you give us an account of what happened? Why where you back by the entrance? Blizzard will definitely come in handy. Icycle feels a bit redundant, though altough we yet have to test how much damage Blizzard does to allies. If nothing prevents us from spamming it, we might as well cast it often enough to get it up to mastered. As always, rest when needed. If there is still time after that, it's finally auction time We will also have to discuss if we want to call the entire area south of aresque of limits I think the exit is in Monarch's throne and with how dangerous the mindfuckers are, I'm not too keen of going back even if there is still lots of unexplored territory down here. Here is the newest map for context
I feel I should address this, entirely so that this doesn't potentially become a problem later in regards to mimics, but where did you guys get the idea that hurting a mimic would make it reveal itself?
Warider is the one who came up with it! But attacking mimics to reveal themselves is how its usually done, for example Dark Souls
These are less that type of mimic and more like shapeshifters or doppelgangers... Hitting them will not make them reveal themselves.
Sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo... If stabbing doesn't reveal a mimic then my knowledge falls short on a solution to is someone a doolganger. Except wait, shapeshifters transform back under moonlight and silver is the moons metal (Why it's good on vamps and werewolves). Yulia! Stabbing or cutting is now to be done with the silver throwing knives we have! Ensure everyone here is who we think they are! Also I was going to discuss after the auction, but with those mind eaters gone, we could explor the ascent maybe? We should at least see if the problem is still around or if he lost the battle of the mind.
This is perhaps a bit meta, but I think what's happening here is a classic set up. We get the reveal that mimics are a thing, as part of a proper set up for later. Of course, we are at our highest alert now just after the reveal that mimics are a thing. It makes no sense to spring the trap now. You spring the trap two floors later when everyone has forgotten about them. As such I don't think stabbing is the way, I think what we should be doing is picking up on certain behavorial clues to expose them that way. So yeah, that's a veto from me on the stabbing front. However, I will concede that we can let all our companions grab a silver throwing knive. If we go with the old silver theory this would be suffice to cause them pain as long as it touches their bare skin. Again, I don't view this as proof that someone is a mimic or not, but I see no harm in trying.
