Soooo, Isalia... Everything ok with you? You seemed to be acting a bit weird there. You and Goma got along well together before and you were pretty quick to cover your "cut".

Would you mind telling us something only we should know?

 

Couple of things:

Goma's mana is still at 20%, I take it that's a mistake

I also noticed that we still have the Demonic Spellbook in the inventory. Mistake or could we technically have someone else learn the spell as well?

That's quite the endorsement for the Dream Path, I'm not sure if it's worth the risk.

But we can worry about that later, now its auction time

 

I am also ready for the auction assuming Isalia ok. Having another powerful spell book as a fallback will be nice.

Goma you are ok, we took precautions on entering the dream path but things still went poorly. That's on us voices, we let down the team by not figuring it out sooner.

Cherchiel you have saved Yulia many times already. The dream path was very difficult and you did the best out of the group staying on task.

Yulia I know it must feel bad going back to lethargy, but you saved Goma! And in doing so you've also gained the stone! Your another step closer to saving your world!

... I got my... Mind, I guess... On you Isalia. You get pep talk once I know I'm talking to the real Isalia >->

 

The mana and spellbook are both mistakes and I will fix those immediately.

Ok, question for Tower. Is our voice only heard near the chosen or are we able to communicate with party members that are away? I want to apologize and give a pep talk to Iselia if I'm able.

For our crew: Ok so now we have "possibly" a demon book and a new face. I would like to go pickup Iselia then meet our new friend. I'd suggest Iselias place to talk but that might be too rude. As long as we stay in town I see no harm is chatting, but let's please stay mostly outside to talk, perhaps in front of wherever this person's place is? Going inside an unknown place while we have been spotted is dangerous to say the least.

 

Question:

Could we use the spell book on another character besides Yulia?
How would that affect the curse? Would Yulia still suffer from it or would it go to the character who learned that spell?


Now, why the hell would we want to give Puppet away? That spell would be insanely overpowered. Imagine being able to control your enemies.
Yes, I am aware that there are probably some drawbacks from preventing it to be too broken and we don't know if its actually puppet in the first place.


I guess we have to hear the shady lady out? Not sure why we should go with her though. Yulia is marked now aftter all and that is exactly the stuff a demon would pull.

Actually, I have one suspicion about what this lady might be offering. And if that is the case we will have to accept the offer. Altough, there would be some...complications.

Fine, lets go pick up Isalia and follow the strange lady. As long as ample precaution are taken we shoul be fine.

 

The Curse would in fact go to the character who used the spellbook and yes like any spellbook you could teach the spell to someone else...

Isalia I'm sorry for the suspicion. We know the dream path makes you see visions. Our surroundings with Yulia were mostly decided by our goals since as voices we have some sway on the Tower. Can I ask what you saw? If it's personal then it's fine to keep it to yourself, but if it's a fear or a premonition it helps to be aware of such things.

You have been very brave fighting back against Knocker and our short time together has shown you to stay with your friends even in dire situations. Everyone here likes you and wants the best for you. If you need to talk then all you need to do is say what's worrying you.

 

Oh right no... Only Yulia and people near Yulia can hear the voices... That's what makes her "The chosen" special. The Chosen is the only person who can receive guidance from the voices.

Ok, that was not what I was expecting lol

Do the angelic spellbook come with a curse as well or is this one just a net positive?

Hmmm... HMMMMM... Well this is a mess of lies.

So the angelic book would be by far the best thing for us over the demonic... But she is from the tower below, has a history of lies, and creates spells tailored to manipulation.

My initial plan would be for Cherchiel or Yulia to be allowed to learn from the book before we hand over the demon book. While it's once sided we don't know if that book is the real deal yet.

However, 1 do we know what this angelic book does? 2 what effects could it have if we don't know specifically. 3 should we really trust anything right now with the tower. Convenient that she shows up from the tower once the tower has found us...

 

Cherchiel gave a vague idea of what Divine Grace would do...

 

Ah ok. Didn't realize grace was specific.

Strength on Yulia would be interesting, but that would be rude to Cherchiel who actually wants her strength back. Cherchiel this isn't going to force you to have to follow the True God again is it? We don't want to have to fight and tickle you into submission

How strong will angelic Boarchiel be!

Now here's the plan... In the unlikely scenario this is a trick I want Cherchiel to wear the halo while she regains here strength from the... Wait! We know that Cherchiel is impossibly strong with that buff and Liloth here is able to control people which could then get out of hand...

Do we know that the book is there and real, no tricks? A demon book for and angelic book seems like a good trade for us unless it's got a compulsion built in to the True God, then it's not as worth...

If we are certain then a trade can be made, I guess it doesn't matter where we choose to read the book as if Liloth wanted she could just ambush us later. So to ensure it's the real deal have Cherchiel wear the halo then read the book. Once done and she's fine we hand over the demon book.

There's a scenario where we just attack her... But my morality compels me to know what is going on before we do that. But that would take way to much time.

 

Well, engin called it a net positive, so I don't think we have to worry about any strings attached.

Its also obviously weaker then Puppet


My original intent was to give Puppet to Goma. None of the curses would really be that terrible on her. Famine would suck, I guess

But still body controlling Goblin!

There is also another small issue I'm having:

She says "Give me puppet"

But we have yet to establish if that spellbook is really puppet

Given the whole lie and manipulation angle it would be perfectly reasonable to assume that we just hand over the spellbook only for Liloth to go "lol that's not puppet, deal's off"


So, before we comit to anything we should confirm that the deal is for the spellbook in our posession, regardless if it is actually puppet or not.


Engin, maybe you want to confirm this in the thread? Don't think we need an extra post for that.

 

So on 1 hand, buff angel waifu. On the other, body control goblin waifu. A good idea either way, but buff angel still sounds a bit better to me (also no negatives)

 

Technically I cannot confirm or deny if the book in your possession is in fact Puppet, but it is extremely likely that it is and she at least believes that it is in fact puppet and I will confirm that she will not attempt to double cross or break the deal for that reason.
