A user asked me a while back what made a certain fantasy hot (in this case father-daughter), and it got me thinking on all the angles of the daddy-dau fantasy. Is the daughter so depraved yet sexy that she is perfectly willing to get simple favor through sex? Is this encouraged by dad, or is he 'persuaded'? Is it appreciation or sympathy? Is dad overworked, maybe a single parent? Is he lonely? The list of factors can go on and on - does breeding or pregnancy factor in? Is mom a willing partner? If the father attractive to her? Repulsive? Just normal? Is it a one time thing, recurring, or a lifetime role? Is it actually sex, or just a kind of near-incest taboo, riding a sexual edge without going over to full penetration? On incest scenes in general, not only dad/daughter, I find it way hotter if there isn't previous sexual attraction between them, only some form of acknowledgement that both parties are good looking. Going from that, something can happen that makes them see each other as sexual beings and the situation builds itself until both give in to the desire. A daring game turning sexy or watching a movie with hot scenes, for example.
Incest fantasies are some of the easiest to write because they come with natural conflict. Their taboo nature make them natural forbidden love stories. Really take any standard erotic story and slap an incest theme on it and you are turning the dial up to eleven. Personally, for daddy daughter stories I like them best where both parties are attracted to the other but are afraid to act on it. Then through a comedy of errors they are thrust together into an illicit relationship.
Yes, I'd agree, and add that incest scenes are also often easy to write not just because of the natural conflict/taboo that gets shattered by sex but also because youre able to tap into near-universally understood variations on relationships that are both known from people's own lives and commonly explored in all forms of societal narratives. An author can use basic semi-cliche templates of a relationship (which is basically what this topic is about) between an incestuous pairing and go from there, with a reader being able to easily understand and extrapolate not just where the conflict is but a portion of the history between the characters and their prior relationship, without the lengthy and possibly distracting process of spelling it all out. So, yes, it's a relatively easy way to dial up the hotness (though doing it right, as with anything, takes skill)... and it's powerful. Kind of like the Dark Side of The Force.
Not my favourite one, but i suppose i'm more inclined to like it when its starts by accident. An event puts in their heads (or one of them) the notion that they are actually sexual being. Living under the same roof does the rest.
Yeah, that's what I meant. One or both parties plotting to make it happen or longing for the opportunity doesn't do it for me. The accident, 'spur of the moment' angle feels way hotter.
One of the major elements I missed (among many others I'm sure) in my original post was whether Dad is willing to share. Is he keeping his daughter to himself? Or does he whore his daughter out for his friend's entertainment? Is he her pimp? Does he even get involved in sex, or does he just act as a sexual enabler, selling his precious girl's innocence and hot young body for cold cash? Or, as a reverse, is the little slut already a stripper or whore, and dad finds out and pays her good money? She's offering the goods, and dad is paying for the services. Capitalism demands that his money be honored.
