“As amusing as it would be to just walk up the stairs to the next floor and walk right in... it's risky – Chen's best men are likely to be standing guard right next to the stairs, and if they are smart enough or alert enough, they will notice me. Even if they don't, some of the other people there might. Flying up to the roof, while also risky, seems like the better option. Of course, I will take some precautions, just in case... Anything more you can tell me about that entrance?” Azura asked as her mind worked, trying to decide on the best approach. She would need to renew the spell that made most people overlook her, and she would need to use her flight spell, obviously, but she wasn't sure what else she might need. “Does either of you have any thoughts or suggestions?” She asked her two companions, who had remained quiet so far, letting her do the talking.
Upon seeing her sister disappear into the Platinum Room Jenny couldn't help but feel a little abandoned and her eyes constantly darted towards the entrance waiting to see Chastity return. Without information, her mind started wondering what was behind the door and what was so special about it. So engrossed in her wondering she almost missed the offer of help. "Oh! Umm- yes please, that would be very nice of you thank you." she stammered before she asked "Davey... was it?" As Davey instructed her, his hands pressed lightly against her skin guiding her movements. Jenny's eyes once again returned to the entrance to the Platinum room and her curiosity got the better of her. Reaching out with her mind she tried to read the thoughts of the people in the other room. Without line-of-sight it would be more difficult, but she felt a need to know.
"Perhaps that could be acceptable." The AI says slowly. Lana chuckles. "No, I think we've had enough fun. Bathroom's over there." The pop singer swats Calista's ass as she walks by. "You think me some sort of merchant, woman? This armor is the legacy of my people, borne of high magic! It's not to be bought and sold like some trifle!" The Harpy sounds offended, but as her wings beat, she hasn't attacked yet - probably because she's confused where Heart is going with this. "Not much. There's a pool up there, so there might be civilians - women and men hired to help 'celebrate' after the meeting." Daiyu shakes her head. "If things go belly up, watch your fire - I'd rather not have a massacre on the evening news." Sapphira shakes her head. "I'm behind you." Esmerelda leans in, out of earshot of Daiyu. "Can we trust her?" She whispers. "How do we know that if we go up there we won't be walking into a hail of machine gun fire because she warned them?"
"Good, then for a start, do you know what Oscar's son... or whatever, just tell me what that fat boy js planning to do." Vanessa asked, pondering if the real Oscar had contingency plans on the off chance he slipped into a coma.
"Yeah, Davey." The man stays behind her, guiding her. "Just follow my lead." But I will have a shield spell ready, just in case, because there could be armed guards up there regardless.”
"He's been less than forthcoming, unfortunately, mainly because I'm his chief rival." The AI explains. "I believe, however, that Mentek figures into it as a kind of poisoned chalice. Despite Mentek being Oscar's brainchild, it's your name that's on the door, on the paperwork, and from what Place told me, on a parking space out front. The moment Mentek's illegal actions come into the public view, it will look like they were done on your orders." "Yeah, she did." Looking drowsy and still naked, Lee manages to mumble. "Some sort of, hmmm, superhero..." Shit, and Chastity said this girl was the 'innocent' one? Guess they got a different definition of innocent in that family. Daiyu, in the meantime, has been at the window, slowly working it open. A breeze floods the room as it swings inwards, and Daiyu withdraws a small, oddly shaped gun from her bag, loading it with some kind of dart rounds. "The meeting should be starting soon."
"So I basically have to ensure the secret lab stays a secret." Vanessa grumbles, "Besides, I have the paper work that reveals how I just recently received ownership of the company." She replied, "And this fat boy... urgh, does he have a name, and do you know where he might be hiding?" The heiress asked, trying to bring the fight to Oscar's abomination.
She rolls her eyes. "Good enough for me. Hasta luego!" She waves goodbye as she exits, planning to head straight to her own apartment to rest. Being out in public as Calista fills her with excitement and fear, but she's far too sore, tired, and anxious to consider much of anything other than a warm meal, a shower, and a bed.
Amethyst Heart nodded. "Alright, alright~" She raised her hands, pacifying the woman. "Did you at least pay for it?" She asked.
Through the man's direction, her huffing subsided but her breathing was kept short and the ache in her muscles maintained their state but stopped growing. She kept doing the squats, but rather than recoil from Davey's touch Jenny leaned into it and let the man grope her ass to his pleasure. "Octavius Heart." The AI responds. "I don't know where he stays. I did overhear one of the technicians talk about his habits, however. Apparently he has two loves: Advanced technology, and expensive women. If you focus your search on areas that provide those, you should be able to locate him." 3 Weeks Later "Well hello, everybody, this is hero talk - your number one source for all that juicy costume gossip. Our first story is a debate about lethality - a newcomer hero named Sonata has made the waves after butchering several members of a local street gang." As Nico's alarm blares, the radio turns on automatically, tuned to the show in hopes that he can hear news about Sonata. Nico slides out of bed, feeling his chest ache slightly - healed, but still a little sore. The female presenter is replaced by her male counterpart after a few moments. "Well, you know, I was initially pretty skeptical about this Sonata guy - he rescued some pop diva, who cares? And I still think he's got a lot to prove, you know, street thugs aren't impressing anyone. But I think the bleeding hearts out there posting about this kid are wrong - the thugs he took out, no one's gonna miss them." The woman comes back on. "Those 'bleeding hearts' are concerned citizens, who don't want a knife wielding maniac out there on the streets leaving bodies everywhere. Our streets are crime ridden, but we solve that problem by fixing how broken the city is, not by letting vigilantes kill people. You know me, I love heroes, and what they do for the community, but murder is too far. And besides, a witness claims that Sonata threatened her with knives - clearly, he's unwell, to say the least." As the two hosts' debate turns into a chaotic argument, Nico sees his phone buzz - the number belonging to the producer who's been working with Calista in the studio. At the same time, he turns on the TV, seeing a report that Tinnitus, the club he apprehended the gang boss in, was burnt to the ground - superpowered activity is suspected. "Of course not, you dolt!" Harpy sighs, as though she's talking to someone of lesser intelligence. "Now, are you going to stop molesting me, or shall I give you a taste of my claws?" "I'd like to let you see her..." Davey grins, moving his hands up to 'support her abs', in reality grabbing her breasts. "Problem is, the Platinum Room is off limits to most members - you have to be real special to get in." As Esmerelda nods, Daiyu answers the question by poking her gun out of the window, a subsonic pop sounding. Craning her neck out, wind blowing her hair, Azura spots a window washer's hand slap his neck beneath them, before he collapses on his platform, chest slowly rising and falling. "I hope that won't be a problem?" She ejects a casing, and loads another dart. "I hope we can do this quietly - I'd like to be able to eavesdrop on the meeting. Perhaps your ability can make me invisible, too? Or could you make me look different - like I said, if Chen's eyes leave my chest and travel upwards, he's sure to recognise me."
"W-what!?" Vanessa gasped, eyes going wide as she learned of Octavius' hobbies. She blushed, knowing full well that she only had one approach to this, without giving away the element of surprise. "Fine, that should be all I need for now. Unless you have something else to say to me?" The heiress asked, figuring that she should start looking for ways to make contact with the fat nerd. But was wondering if the AI had some interesting information it would like to share of its own volition. If he doesn't, Vanessa shuts him off, and unplugs the engram to hopefully keep him from making any attempts to connect to the world wide web.
"If that was a threat, what does that woman consider assault? Standing too close to her? She probably didn't even relay what I told her." He sighs. Nico gets a glass of water and downs one of the anti-inflammatory pills to mitigate his chest pain, which should hopefully be fading completely soon enough. Weird to be agreeing with Arnold more than Elvira. He shakes the thought from his head and groggily checks his phone in case the message is something important. I should probably have a look at that club too if I get the chance, but I don't know if I'm healed enough to go as Sonata.
