Sort of bummed out. I've been slowly woking on republishing this with a new edit. Setting it up for amazon's standards, aging up people and making it kinda silly. been on my backburner and even just thought about just making new updates to the story. But found out today while visiting TF Games site someone ripped the main plot off, kept the characters name of the bully, and well maybe wrote it a bit better. But it feels so oddly like mine that I can't see it as not a plagiarized work. Thoughts? Should I just can ever updating it for Amazon now? My work on here: https://chyoa.com/chapter/Blake,-wanting-to-get-in-on-a-sleepover.256382 The work in question: https://tfgames.site/index.php?module=viewgame&id=3082
I should note, if I was credited cool. But it just feels odd. I kinda laugh becaue it's just erotic work, but the fact that the person is looking to profit feels odd, and who knows. I decided to leave a review on the page to let people know. Just felt burned and if I was credited or asked. I'd probally be fine getting credit or even helping out. But yeah not asking me and just using it was not cool imo.
Well that was a crazy mix. I reached out, a little miffed to the author and had written a review. Turns out I missed that they were looking to credit my story but forgot it. Still a bit mixed on it all but glad I will be credited. I updated my review with that info and that things have smoothed over. I mainly just wanted credit at the very least. But such an odd set of feelings.
If it's just for non profit whatever, but if they try to make money out of it, fuck that shit. Marcie and Gina did your story two years ago, so if you ever need a statement to validite your claim I'm available.
This user has 4 more games on the site... I am curious if some of those are also "inspired" from chyoa. Transformations\mind control aren't exactly my cup of tea so I don't know this segment of chyoa well
"Oops, I forgot to credit you but totally meant to" sounds like an excuse and I will bet that they only said that after getting caught.
Yeah. I kept my original review linkiing Chyoa still until I'm credited at least just with the update that the creator said they would. The creator claimed to do it from memory except beats were the same and from where the game ended it looked like future plot points were going to be like mine. Still keeping this up. I have no way to fight this kind of theft and it's from my very first work. Kinda miffed as I wanted to gamify it myself someday but at least I'll get credit. Regarding the other four games. I've only played 2 of them. Most of them seem to be gender swapping stuff too. I hope others on CHYOA get the word out and look. Either way I asked a link be made to the OG CHYOA story as I'd like more love over here and to my author bio on Zon. We'll see if they do it or not. Either way trying to make the best off of it. They also claimed future editions should have new material and not my work so will see how that turns out. But anyone going to their patreon will see my comments with the creator.
In the draft of the game that they have posted so far I missed in the about the game section just after the confirmation of being 18 that it was inspired by a choose your own adventure but the creator couldn't remember who. Oddly though the first part of the game is beat for beat the same, until they go to a drinking game, but then the "boys" show up, just like in mine and it starts to be the same again even Steve is the same name. So do I believe that the creator claimed it was all from memory? Maybe, maybe the story is memorable. Or they just knew what they were doing and thought they wouldn't get caught. Either way trying to make the best of this. Hope others on here look at the other works in case there was any other "inspiration".
They have a patreon and subscribestar hence why I reached out on patreon and immediately posted here and made a review on TFgames. Just hope they weren't "inspired" by someone else.
Plagiarism is just not on, I'd be very angry if this happened to me. If he wants to do his own version of your story, like a fanfic, then fine, but he needs to get permission from you first and ensure he gives full credit when it's released. And if I was a fan reading his story and found out it was not his own work I'd feel cheated and never read a word he wrote again.
I'd be amazed if they were his original works. I just can't see someone putting all that effort into original work then suddenly ripping off another author, or vis versa.
