The new Adopt a Story Program

Hi, I've already adopted the story Wishful dorm in that I added most of the current chapters, and Friedman has given me access so that I can change older chapters. (Thanks again!)

However, I seem to be limited with regards to editing the story description, the variables and the intro image? The story displays "anonquack" as the creator of chapter 1 and "mcmartin" as the story owner; each of these authors added one pivotal chapter, but not any more.
I do not know how this works: Can I edit the variables, intro image and story description if story ownership is transferred to me? If this can be done, I would greatly appreciate it!

 

You have the story role "owner" (like mcmartin)

You can edit the story details but as you aren't the original owner, the "Edit Story" link might not be shown.
So you need to access the Edit Story page using the direct link.
The easiest way is to go to the story map, replace the "map" in the address bar with "edit", and open the page.

Three weeks ago I submitted several chapters for review to the story Die junge Pastorin — CHYOA
but the owner hasn't been online for two months.
Is it possible to have them approved, or should I wait longer?

Have you tried to contact the original author? It seems they are still active from time to time.
To edit typos and see what variables are used, you would need to have the story role Editor assigned. With story role Author, you can't see the "source code" of a chapter and can't show hidden variables when you've started a game.

though after getting the first few chapters approved, the original author's name has disappeared everywhere. Does this mean that they've deleted their account? If so, can I get the necessary permissions to continue adding to the story? (or maybe it could just be opened, since there is enough other content there that I would prefer to avoid becoming a single point of moderation)
